Excerpt from email I just sent to Dev. "I noticed this app appear in my app drawer. I don't know how it installed or when. I tried to uninstall it but the only option I was given was to disable it." It's not a "system default app" that belongs in my phone. "Verizon is my carrier not US cellular." "I removed all permissions, cleared the cache, deleted all data & turned off notifications. Forced stopped it & disabled it. Restarted my phone. Everything has been re-enabled. VERY SUSPICIOUS"

I don't know how this app got on my phone. I cannot find it in my list of apps. Otherwise, I would just delete it. Constantly attacking my phone screen with the same inane notification: "Protect your phone from spam." Call Guardian is the Number One source of spam on my phone. I will start with tracking down the corporate office and if I can't get it out of my life, I will find a legal way to deal with it.

Worthless. This app was provided for free by my carrier. It often takes longer to engage than a few rings so I have often picked up before it engages. It catches maybe 1 out of 10 spam calls which isn't enough to be worth using. It also has no way to report a spam call. It's primary function seems to be to harvest your contacts to sell for marketing not stop robocalls. The app itself is the privacy invasion. Also discovered when I un installed it does not Uninstall, apparent scam app, beware

This nonsense needs to stop. I've been a loyal customer solely based off the "no frills" type of company you have always been. Absolutely under no circumstances should any application be unable to be uninstalled regardless of if you can "disable" the app or not. We don't want your annoying subpar subscription based apps pushed on us. Thanks, Everyone

The app doesn't have Uninstaller, doesn't pop-up on any call, doesn't read call logs. Not sure if they even tested this app at all. Truecaller and others work right over the top and do all this one DOES NOT !! I believe it was poorly written!! I forgot, it needs to read other block lists and not require re-entry of fake and spam calls. Most apps do. LAST but not the LEAST, this app does not need every permission under the sun. It's still merely a phone app !!

Intrusive and Redundant. I didn't download the app. It just showed up one day on my phone and started promoting its paid for features. It didn't provide any better insight into spam calls than me just looking at the number. It throws up random notifications on calls that are hours, sometimes days old. It's obnoxious, and I'm so thankful I finally found a way to uninstall it.

This app sends me more spam than anything else on my phone. I finally found and deleted it (preloaded by US Cellular and hidden in a folder). I literally would have pop up ads 10 times a day telling me to activate it. Never used the app itself but the fact that it would notify me more frequently to activate it than my phone would about a voicemail spoke volumes. Awful notification system. Should never have been preloaded on my new phone.

This app is literally worthless. It will, at random, be unable to verify my account and simply stop altogether. I get no notification of this until I realize it's not doing anything when I get calls and open the app. Then I have to verify my account just to have the process happen all over again. It's too bad this app is forced on me because I REALLY want to uninstall it. Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for disabling this trash.

US Cellular was apparently hacked back in November, 2022. I wasn't made aware of this, and suddenly, I was literally getting nearly 50-60 SPAM calls daily. I never answered them. It wasn't until the beginning of this year that Lookout had found the breach and then a month later US Cellular was offering this plan for free. So far it's not blocking anything from getting through. And it frequently doesn't even open. And yes I have the latest update.

I retract my earlier review. All it does is waste my time. A new VOIP scammer is in business and my phone is getting too many calls every day from them. Different number every time, but always using my area code. This app pops up only AFTER I answer & hang up on the robocaller, or reject the call. Now I have to do a bunch of tapping to report the number. Every time there's a pitch to upgrade to premium to get the Caller ID that used to be free on my phone forever. Uninstalling and bye.

I disabled this because it had one too many Affects interrupting Usage of OTHER APPS. I have not turned this back on in 3 years. Thanks. (The Time allotted without this App Functioning allowed an easier, more FLOWING NETWORK Stability. WASTE OF MEMORY, after exchanging this for TRUECALLER APP. TRUECALLER APP also Replaced The Generic MOBILE PHONE APPS SAMSUNG HAD as part of the original System Applications... Sorry Samsung... The Mobile Access cannot be COPIED, ONLY MIRRORED .

This app is *awful*. It literally spams your phone with pop up notifications you can't just swipe away. You also can't delete it. It came preloaded on my US cellular phone. I force stopped and disabled it and it just updated itself. I just went back in and repeated the force stop and disable, cleared cached data, turned off notifications and all other app permissions. I am seriously hoping it doesn't find a way to update again. Going to search through folders in my phone to find a way to delete.

Currently trying to get rid of this!! Was apparently downloaded on my phone without me knowing. And charging me $3.99 a month on my phone bill. App doesn't show up in my list of downloaded apps on Google Play yet when I go into my phone settings it shows up and says it was downloaded through Google Play, also no options to Uninstall app completely just an option to uninstall updates??? Very frustrating to say the least!

I installed this app when it came up as a suggestion & saw it was associated with my carrier, so thought it was legit. DON'T DO IT! I'm now getting a dozen calls a day with non US #s that hang up after 1 ring, which had NEVER happened before this app. It's a scam to get you to pay the monthly fee for premium service, hoping to get you so annoyed you have no choice. Will be reporting to BBB & state attorney general.

UPDATE NOVEMBER 26,2020 I am updating to reply to the developer. The version I had on my phone was in fact the updated current version per Play Store not showing an update. As well I had the paid version of this and it still did not work and it should. Not worth the money. This app does not even recognize when I get a phone call. It never shows notifications, when they are turned on. Worked good for the first few days then nothing...

Be careful with this app. As a US Cellular customer, I installed it because the US Cellular website linked to it listing it as the "Free Call Guardian App". It mentioned premium features, available but I assumed it would prompt me for payment via the app store after the trial period ended. NOPE! They just tack on the $3.99 monthly charge on to your phone bill without so much as a word. Luckily I paid close attention to the phone bill, otherwise I could have been paying for this app for months or longer despite having uninstalled it from my phone after a few days.

This app is spam!! I had the premium version, and it can't even identify numbers that are in my contacts. It doesn't matter whether or not it is connected to wifi. I have emailed the developer three times now, followed all their instructions on my end and they never follow through with what they say needs to be done from their end. DO NOT PAY FOR PREMIUM!!!!! THIS APP IS A SCAM!!!!

Does job but laggy/slow. I love how it catches spam/spoof calls! It also blocks calls like it should once the # is added to the block list. The call identification works well. I also like the caller ID above apps so I can see. It is very slow when tapping on numbers that have called to add to block list or add info. Once I click on block, it lags more and takes a few seconds. To the point I think the ad is froze. I'd also love to see a customizablw block filter to add area codes & more.

It just pops up a loading icon anytime I click on it! I checked to see if it needed any updates and it didn't. I'll try deleting it and reloading it but right now just not satisfied. I'll give an update once I delete and reload! UPDATE******* Seriously weird! I clicked uninstall and all of a sudden, an update noticed appeared in place of the uninstall option. I *updated* which did not do any updates just led me to the previous screen to put my number in to "verify" my number. SEEMS SUPER FISHY!

The app catches a lot of spam calls. I'm only giving 3 stars for one reason. I have ensured all permissions are granted. Yet every few days it stops working and says it's "unable to verify my account" and I have to go through the verification process all over again. Idk why this keeps happening, but it's making me crazy.
