Absolute load of rubbish. Have been trying for days to get any use out of this app. Updated the software on the phone and now can't manage to open the app. It keeps crashing and saying that the app has bugs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, but still nothing and can't change the colour or brightness of my bulb in sitting room. Won't be buying again and advise others not to.

I like it. There are quite some customization options when it comes to conditional automation and scenarios. More than I would even need for my smart switch anyway. I did initially have trouble pairing the switch to the app, but the app proposed an alternative connection method and that one worked flawlessly. I hope they add even more options for automation and notification options.

Ads with 5 sec timeout after opening the app?!! Are you kidding me? It's not a free product to put on ads. We've paid for the lightbulbs, and the app is essential to use them. What a nonsense, imagine having your child sick and you need to wait for the ad to go away before you can turn on the light!! We are throwing away all your products just now, replacing with the more sensible competition and never coming back!

I had trouble setting up my lights and plugs but eventually it all worked and I could control them via my phone or Alexa. However, half of my devices have stopped working and I can't fix the problem. I've now uninstalled and reinstalled your app to start again. It constantly says there is a network problem (that's what it was saying before uninstall too) there is nothing wrong with my WiFi. The app just will not work! I've kept my receipts and will get my Money back if I can't set it up again.

Returned the lights to the retailer after spending hours trying to get this to work. App requires registration but doesn't always send out email verification codes that it insists you have. Can't add lights, in the auto discover mode it can't find them and in the manual mode the app finds the lights but can't set them up. Would have kept the lights if they could be used without the app but it seems that's not an option either.

Really bad product and app, as you can see from the reviews they don't bother answering, had the lights for awhile, they work about 80% of the time and if you use Google home (becuase who wants 5 apps to control your home smart devices?) it WILL fail and say stuff is offline when the calex app says its online and the only way to fix that (that works for me) is to resync the bulb... Which is a long and tedious process.

It used to work perfectly, then there was an update a month or two ago that just completely broke it. It barely works, when it does the light doesn't dim hardly at all, the darkest setting is still so so light! It used to be a lot darker! The new layout is also terrible and takes me ages to access it every time. It's ridiculous!!!

A recent update added darkmode which is nice but app still has many annoying pop-ups which slow things down, when i run a scene I don't need the success popup to show, its annoying and wastes time because you have to click okay to make it go away. Also the wifi signal weak message is also annoying and slows down using the app, im not going to move my box or my lightbulb i dont need to be told every time that the signal is slightly weak for that room. Edit- Nice to hear about ongoing improvements

When setting this up, It took a little longer than expect but It was worth it, then the next day came by and the app continuously said "Offline" when even though it was on(the bulb). The worst thing is the flashing, not only does it give you a headache but I have to cover my windows so it doesn't look like I'm doing a "SOS" thing while connecting. I'm sure it's good, I just haven't gotten the chance to know it's good.

Initially setting it up took a few attempts, once set up was fine. I was away for a few days recently, came home and it just wouldn't connect and kept saying 'device offline' so I forgot the bulb to add it again and now all it does is flash. I have followed the steps and it just won't connect at all. Driving me mad!! That actual app itself when the bulb works is great, I absolutely love the bulb when it works and am gutted it is no longer working ☹

Often not very handy. In the beginning it was fine, but since a few updates ago the layout is unpleasant. Also I just tried to use it for the first time in a while, and was asked to set up an account and had to reconnect my lamp which is really annoying when you're just trying to turn off your light when you're having a migraine. I don't want to have to navigate a whole hub to turn on or off my singular light bulb

Not perfect by any means, but I love the colour temperature flexibility of the bulbs, which was my main reason for buying them. I have 4 bulbs in use in 1 room; some were more temperamental to set up than others, and I had to switch wifi to 2.4ghz to connect. Once up and running, I do have very occasional instances of a bulb losing its signal, but switching the light off manually at the wall and switching it back on again usually fixes it. Grouping bulbs to switch on/off together is good.

It's a good app and works well in conjunction with Alexa and other voice controlled speakers. You can set your devices to switch on and off with almost unlimited settings of customization (colour,on off time, mood, dance on music etc). The app controls my Samsung TV as well. The app works over 2.4GhZ WiFi and mobile data to control devices from anywhere. I also use old phones(galaxy alpha) with android 5 for which i have to download old versions from internet-This is my only complaint.

The app was working very well about 80% of the time, this morning it updated itself and now nothing works, it won't connect, can't find any devices and keeps losing the wifi password. I have 4 smart lights, 6 smart plugs and some peripherals that will all be going in the recycling bin. Life is to short to spend hours trying to connect a "smart" device to an unusable app.

Brand new, remote doesn't work. Tried to pair in app and although the app can see it, won't pair. Has to be one of the most confusing apps I've ever used too, freezes half the time and doesn't save the WiFi password so you have to type it in every time you use a different page in the app. Complete waste of money, back to the shop tomorrow for a refund!

1 star because record function stopped working correctly on my phone after last update. It records a video but 1 minute recording is 0.02 secondlong and super hyper fast motion. please fix this function.

Widget Issues when u try and run a smart device using a shortcut in the tap to run widget, it always says it failed to execute. But the shortcuts work fine in the app.

only used with a smart bulb but seems to work well. however, the dimmer could do with greater range, if full brightness is 100% then the lowest it will dim is about 40% even at 0 on the app.

Cheap and simple. Connection issues are common. Sends me notifications from the camera but won't connect to let me view a live feed despite connectivity at 98%. "Failed to establish encrypted channel". Not great for a security camera to work whenever it wants.

I used to love it a few months ago, but now??? With the new update, it's ruined. The whole layout changed which is so confusing. Like I can't even find my lightning scenes anymore, I looked everywhere. The old layout was sooo much better I could easily open my app tap on room lists and there they were, my lightning scenes. Now I can't find them anywhere.... I sent a mail and got a reply the next day! That's amazing.
