Simple and effective. There is only one thing more on my wish list - upon pressing the app icon, it should go to maximum brightness mode. That is to allow the user under bright sun to adjust the brightness without actually seeing the setting buttons.

As David Smith mentioned "the brightness levels are not in sync with the system, e.g. 30% on the app actually sets the phone to a much higher brightness like 57%." I am experiencing the same thing. Controls say 25%, system says 73%. So, not sure WHAT the actual brightness. Pretty sure it's not 73%. Otherwise ... VERY cool and nice graphic. Motorola 2019 Z4 with Android 9 OS, up to date.

absolutely love this app. i have a bunch of phones, some of which don't have the ambient light sensors in them. and making the adjustments by sliding the brightness bar is crazy. this app makes it ridiculously simple to control the brightness on my cheap (and pathetic) redmi phones.

Seems to be working well for now. I've hooked it up with "Shake to Control an App", so if I'm outside, in the bright sun, I can just shake the phone to brighten the screen, and I don't have to find shade, in order to see the screen

Good, but brightness percentage given by the app doesn't correspond to brightness percentage given by the system. The former is always way lower than the latter. Plus, I wish there were nine presets instead of six.

I'm another person who would like to be able to calibrate the values to the phone's slider. 50% and above is full brightness, 10% is about half brightness, 5% is 1/3, and 0% is 5% or so, which is fine and the only one I wouldn't change. Besides that, it's basically all I need.

Fantastically useful app! The brightness slider on my S24 Ultra is very hard to adjust to lower brightness levels. It seems like the middle 90% of the bar is unused, as it's either full bright or struggling to get it low enough to not be blinding at night. The only feature the app is missing is App Actions. Would love the ability to add an app action to my sleep routine so that I could set the brightness to 3% on a schedule.

Hi, I have been using your app for a longer time, and now on a Mi A2. There's something wrong, for example when I set 15% it is actually 50+% brightness on the phone. This is on Android One Pie. Zero and 100% work properly, but any other amount does not. Please check.

Should be able to increase the brightness to the opposite of 0, 100% is the limit? 0 is almost total Black, one should be able to adjust to about whitewash the screen brightness. Holding down the preset % does nothing, as the option to enter a value doesn't work. Use Sound Boost as an example. The higher volume selected, you get a higher volume, in this brightness app one get no appreciable increase.

Needed this app for Pixel 6 Pro, which is very bright. Older app, but works ok with Android 12. Configurable presets, using it for additional fine tuning for night owls. Helps to save your battery. Using (setting=phone) 0=0, 1=20, 2=31, 3=37, 5=48, 7=56, Auto=Auto. Usually 1, 2, 3 get me through the day indoors, Auto outside.

Best brightness app out of all the ones I've used.. very simple and the menu pops up right there and you can pick the brightness level. I really do like that you can also select the auto brightness option (also known as adaptive brightness) because the other apps didn't have this.

Not what I was looking for unfortunately. I want something that pushes the default brightness level beyond 100%.basically what Outdoor Mode used to do on Android 7. This just gives you slightly more control over the default adjustments, it doesn't increase the brightness beyond the default. Oh well, still a nice app.

Works with Android 12. Pixel 6 Pro. Wanted an app with more than just a few settings. Old brightness app wouldn't work anymore. Percents are off, but I'm guessing this App was not designed for Android 12. I used 2, 7, 12, 16, 27, 100. Which is roughly equal to... 30, 56, 68, 74, 84, 100. Which works well for me. 'Auto' button works too if you want to turn on adaptive.

The Brightness app gives you much more granular control over the brightness setting vs stock slider. You can have 6 presets saved, eg low percentage for indoors, higher setting for in direct sunlight etc. and tune them down to the percentage point. It's meant that I can quickly change back and forth, without having to fiddle with the brightness slider later. Very useful, and free of unnecessary permissions that are sadly commonplace for many apps.

i just wanted an app that had an icon on my phones main screen that gave me quick access to my phones brightness control. This app is perfect for my needs and helps my phone battery to last longer. when you open the app, it gives you options of 0, 25, 50, 75, or 100% for screen brightness. If you hold your finger down on any of these fixed settings, a slider comes up that allows you to set a custom number instead. This app works great with my motorola droid smartphone. Just what i was looking for

Does what it says it does. Great app! Most reviews say everything I would say. It's handy and easy to use. To save battery or just turn lower to save eyes + no ads, this is the one to download! ONE BIG QUESTION:. How do you change "0" brightness to say, 15% when it's totally BLACK and you can't see to change from 0 to 15%? Because if I tap on "0" by mistake, there's no way to change it without "Factory Setting" your entire phone and losing everything. Author should start with 5-10% only!

Just as described, does what it says and gets out of the way. I wish it had a way to add more buttons, because I'd love to have like 0 through 8 and also 15, 30, 60, 100 or something, but not a big enough deal to dock a star.

For some reason, my phone's brightness control is buried deep in the settings. I'm fussy about that, so this nice, simple app is just the thing. You can switch easily between common levels, and customize your own favorites.

why are all the percentages wrong except for 0% and 100%? edit: i forgot i downloaded this app before and 3 years later it still has the same issue on a different phone. i don't remember which phone i used before but right now I'm on a Google Pixel 7a. for some reason it does work properly on the Samsung A23 i use as a media player in the car, but is apparently broken on any Pixel phone.

I just discovered Brightness by Alexey Rogulin is the answer to my prayers for a simple app that does all of the necessary basics without any complications. I have moved the brightness icon to the top right corner of my Android home screen, where it is easy to find if the home screen goes fully dark and you cannot even see what's on the screen meaning that you cannot use the regular methods for increasing screen brightness again. 5 stars, top score from me!
