The app works well to filter out the blue light, but I don't like the ads in the app and my access to some feature app is being more limited. Because I need to pay premium to get access to when I want the blue light filter to turn on. Also, sometimes the blue light filter function shut off on its own and the transition between the light change is bad.

Better clarity, somewhat less functional than Twilight. There are tons of blue light filter apps out there and most are complete junk. I had been using Twilight but it seemed to make images/text fuzzy. This app provides much better clarity and has good color options. The one thing I miss from Twilight is that I was able to control which apps it displayed over. For Amazon/camera/IG/etc where I needed to see correct colors, Twilight was set to automatically pause. Can you make this app do that?

I purchased the premium for this app and use it constantly from protecting against blue light, to scheduling automatic adjustments on a schedule, or even just dimming your screen past what most devices are capable of. Highly customizable, easy to use, and extremely useful. It really is an excellent solution for looking after your eyes.

One of the better apps for curing blue and bright lights that I have found. It does exactly as it describes, and so far no technical issues or update bugs. Some features hide behind the "Pro" mode, but honestly if you want an app that will make nightly phone time easier on your eyes, and that has great free features (including an in-app scheduler), you shouldn't go wrong with this one. Very helpful.

The best, most effective dimmer app I have used. I have tried dozens of dimmer apps and this works best for long stretches of night reading. It both dims and cuts blue light so you don't experience sleep disruption. The only missing feature is a shake or gesture driven override. It is difficult to turn it off in the morning. I like the presets for different conditions so I don't have to try to remember the settings I like.

I've been using this for years and I haven't had a problem at all especially when it schedules on. I'm a bit bummed out that I am forced to upgrade. I didn't need the extra perks and I still don't. The ads don't bother me so I don't see the need to upgrade if I'm satisfied. If I can't find another app to substitute this.. I might.. upgrade, as long as it stays to the one time fee of -only- 3.99 not any extra stuff that bumps it up to who knows what. Overall, in my experience, not bad of an app.

I used the same blue light filter app for years, but there came a time when, at least on my phone, that filter couldn't cover the notification/button bars. This one covers the whole screen beautifully and is really customizable in terms of filter strength and type. I'm especially enjoying being able to set multiple timers/cycles with the paid version-- definitely worth the upgrade, in my opinion. I also found it very intuitive to use right away.

I have tried a few night mode apps and none of them darkened my screen or made any difference in the blue light. After about 5 apps installed NIGHT SHIFT and have used it on a total of two phones now. It has several options to edit the colors and the tint without having to pay for the pro version. I am impressed by the free version of this app and highly recommend it.

I struggle with photosensitive migraines that react very poorly to blue light, and after a concussion in 2021 I found I could no longer use my phone for any meaningful length of time, even with the built-in blue light filter setting. I found this app shortly after my concussion, and I'm so glad that I did! It made my phone usable again, and I love the scheduling feature. I also appreciate the ability to edit and add filters as needed. It has prevented so many migraines! 🙌

Unsure what happened since changing phones. I had a Pixel 3a, and it was set up fine, with a shortcut in lower right - hand corner I could click to turn it off when I wanted to in the eve. However, since upgrading to Pixel 6,i can't seem to set up the same shortcut, or even figure out how to set the various defaults. No explanations for when in editing mode, what clicking the arrow vs || means. I liked how I had things set up before, and wish I could just go back to the "default".

The toggle for dim, intensity.and alpha is confusing, bad settings nake it hard to make oit details on the screen, if its more simple ala the one it may be more user friendly for some. Also, the tint isnt as clean as the night mode included by the system. This orange tint introduces "haze"/blurriness than decreases detail in text, or jusf thin, sharp line, becomes less distinguishable. It became apparent when you read comics alot woth it on for example. Otherwise, i love the quick setting on/off

Simple and effective. Overlays preset yellow tints on your screen with varying preset levels of darkness for different times of day. Always shows up in the notification center so you can stop it conveniently, but it is a bit annoying always having it there. It also stops working very occasionally, which is why I gave it four stars.

So far so good. There are very few apps that actually dim everything such as the notification shade. Night Shift does it all, plus some really great customization of color filters, etc. Also has a notification where the user can play /run the current selected dimmer and filter. It would be great to include a slider in the notification shade to adjust the dimming. Also, the accessibility button in the bottom navigation bar did not work for me, it turns off Night Shift but does not turn on again

Update 9/15, update fixes bug, thanks! *"Night shift isn't optimized for the latest version of Android. Screen touches may be delayed or not recognized." Time for an update, kid. Been a little while, and still isn't updated. Make it compatible and I'll update my stars back to 5. 9/13* great for easing my eye strain. nice to have the schedule set up, plus the notification bar control for easy pausing. really does help, just takes a few days to get used to it.

The app works wonderfully. HOWEVER. When you go to the settings to set it to display over your pulldown menus, when you press "allow", the app says it needs access to read all your data. Yeah. So I uninstalled this app immediately. There are plenty of other blue light filter apps out there that don't need to invade your privacy in order to work as-needed. Don't get this one.

Night Shift is very easy to use and comfortable on the eyes. I like the variety of options (light, medium, dark, etc.) as I can easily adjust the light level for my maximum comfort. *Edit: I reinstalled it on a new phone in 2019 and it now does not dim the phone's pull-down menu. This is unfortunate as the menu is very bright. I hope another update in future will once again dim everything.

This is a really useful app, because I tend to work late into the night, and I would like to for the years to come, but my only gripe is that it causes a really bad input lag that is especially noticeable when I type. Every time I try to type on here, it thinks I'm double tapping and zooms in on my screen. It is getting very annoying. [Don't use old 3G phones] ^ original review from an older phone, on a much more modern phone, it works flalwless even using the same setup.

If the app starts bugging (not letting you interact with the screen through the filter), try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't fix it, check your phone's settings for the app to make sure "Remove permissions and free up space" is not toggled on. I've been using this app for over two years and love it. Works better than other filter apps I've tried, and makes a big difference in my sleep.

Love this app. It's great for low light situations and for minimizing blue light during later hours. My only complaint is that there's no way to have it automatically pause when a screen capture is taken meaning you have to go into it and turn it off before you can screen cap (otherwise the screen cap is dimmed or yellowed or whatever filter you had on at the time).

Been using this filter for years over 3 different phones. Best one to use wherever lowest brightness isn't enough. My new phone has an ultra dim setting, but doesn't allow the range of colors for a filter like this app does. I love how much you can control the dimness and the intensity of the chosen color, and how crucial or basic stuff isn't locked behind a paywall.
