Great content but poor app I reduced it to 3 stars due to excessive delays when opening and exiting the app. The developer should be able to resolve this technical problem. It may take up 7-8 seconds to open the app and 10-12 seconds to exit. Sometimes it feels like it was totally frozen. Also having occasional crashes.

5/7/24 update: With new a Pixel8 Pro phone, using Duckduckgo, Bloomberg App stopped working. Apparently you must pay more than $300 to subscribe AND accept ads as well! Customer Service has STONEWALLED my issue, and would not tell me the stories will not load if you have an ad blocker, causing me to cancel my paid subscription after paying for 8 years. Subscription did not expire for 6 weeks, but no refund. Too bad they are so arrogant with a take it or leave it policy. Customer Service... NOT!

Even if you pay $35 a month, without a 50K Bloomberg subscription you're locked out of some content, and you will still see plenty of ads. Really absurd. Otherwise I love the content and interface, but come on... If it was a $6 subscription I would get it.

Great, learning new things all the time and you can customize what you read, watch and listen to your own liking, context truly changes everything, especially with Bloomberg's reliable insights and comprehensive financial news guiding your decisions.

This app needs Dark Mode badly.. it's crazy that a company known for a data service that's displayed as colored text and charts on black backgrounds doesn't have the ability to create a decent dark mode for its iOS or Android apps.

I expected no ads, crisply written articles, good UI. I got ads, articles that are way too long to read, and below average UI. Please take inspiration from apps like Indias Economic times, Money Control, Financial Times. And also, the Bllomberg Interface is as uninspired as its app logo.

This is an update to my original 2 star review: The overall content and organization was, and still is, solid. The app has been much improved overall! The inline ads are still annoying, and also cause scrolling to hang at times. But, I have been using this app for long while and it is nice to see the improvement over time.

This app is a joke. After I downloaded it, as soon as I started searching for stocks, it crashed. So, I opened it again... Same thing. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it, but it still crashes when I do anything shortly after opening. Guess I'll just stick with my normal trading platform since this one appears to be developed by grade school kids. 🙄

I really like Bloomberg news - 5 stars. Though there are many simple features (or the lack there of) on this app that are really disappointing. Especially in lieu of their high paywall. The app frequently crashes on my Android phone. No resolution from tech support ticket. Stock quotes are generally delayed by 15 minutes. I could go on but you get the idea. App only gets 2 stars

Has potential. Good content, esp investigative reports, but many articles need proof reading to fix obvious errors .App notifications are heavy handed and can't be controlled from within app. News stories periodically appear in duplicate on app's main screen. Scrolling through articles is laggy and tiny article pictures often don't load when clicking to expand them. Help menu feedback forms are broken and kick you back out to main page when you try to complete them. I canceled my subscription.

Essentially useless. I like that they cover stories others don't, and on the rare occasion I can actually read a story, they seem well curated and balanced. But nearly every time I try to open a story it tells me I've already met the month's quota, even if I haven't used the app in months. It's useless as a news app if you can't read the news. I only use it for headline alerts now, which I then read on other mediums.

I like the Bloomberg app. The writing is very good and the news coverage is very broad. The notifications can get a little busy but they aren't particularly intrusive, and there are no major ads taking over the article. If I had one complaint it was be the fact that while there is a share button, all of the content is gated. Most other news apps give you at least a special link to share to a small group or individual. I don't understand the point of the share button.

No matter what I did this app sent me sound notifications. There are no options in Settings, or in the Help section (which is in fact an FAQ section) to turn them off. I sent an email to their contact link, with no response. I blocked the app notifications in my phone settings...it still kept chiming and driving me crazy. I've uninstalled and placed a shortcut on my phone screen to their desktop website's homepage. Whew.

Content worth the 1.99 for the first 4 months, but it's definitely not worth 34.99 per month that you will pay after that. It's not simple to cancel. I wanted to cancel, but as it was not straightforward, I procrastinated. I'm trying now, but it seems possible only via phone. I bet most people take on the full effort to cancel only after they see the 34.99 charge... good strategy, Bloomberg

needs improvement. podcasts randomly stop for no reason. when it does, it claims "video failed to load" even though I'm listening to a podcast. that combined with slow buffering speeds tells me maybe the data rate is high (do not use enough to measure a difference) seems to be the only place to get bloomberg law and some other podcasts, otherwise I would just use stitcher or spotify.

2019: Suddenly I can no longer read offline. Need to be connected to read now. 2017: Great app content wise. My gripe is with each enhancement, user experience deteriorate. Have to take extra steps to reach the same points the older version. Worse, app is unresponsive when switching to different reasons region.

The content is of course amazing but the app not so much. Frequent crashes on my Pixel 2, notifications often open on the wrong page (like Home). No way to see all the new articles by chronological order to make sure I'm not missing anything. I am also not sure who thought swiping to go back to the home screen was a good idea. I find myself accidentally swiping when reading an article, and then good luck for getting back to the article. As a UX researcher I have more feedback but no room here!

The app is quite horrible, while reading a news article the page randomly goes blank. Then i have to go back to the home page and re-click on the link to open the article again. This time around i can read maybe an additional paragraph when it goes blank again! This happens about 10 times while reading each article. Not how you are supposed to read news!

App is pretty great. Very responsive and updates the news regularly. HOWEVER, while not especially detrimental, the articles consistently cut off content at the end of a paragraph. For example, "Democrats, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity to speak candidly about the" and the sentence ends. This isn't fixed by moving the screen orientation, or fiddling with app settings. This needs a fix at some point given it happens multiple times within an article.

Dec 11th Update: Issues with streaming the live content in the background STILL PERSISTS! Please fix asap. I can't continue paying for this if it doesn't work the way it should! See previous review below. ----------------------------------------------------------------- As I've stated in the past, I'm still experiencing performance issues when trying to stream live TV content. The app keeps crashing when I have the live stream play in the background (audio only). I am using a Samsung Note 9 but tried other Android devices and still experience the same problem. I wish there was a patch to address this issue once and for all. It's not fair to charge the amount of $35 a month for the content if you can't consume it! I'd be more than happy to help regression or beta test this pro Bono if it means a better quality app.
