I love blackplayer and it's always worked really well until recently. First I downloaded some new songs and as soon as I edit the title, ther artist name and album name (to have it display correctly) the song wouldn't play. Before editing, it was fine. But as soon as I clicked the title it just wouldn't play and would skip to the next song in the queue.

Worked great from the start, loaded all the album art for me and even has genre categories without me doing anything. EDIT: dropping down to 2 stars. Everyone once in a while it won't not load a song right, the player plays through the song but is silent. Once you manually restart the song it will play correctly. Also swapping from the free app sucks

Used to love this app. Has lots of good features but unfortunately, playlist support is not one of them. Made multiple playlists so I didnt have to search songs while driving and a couple of days later, the play lists are there, but none of them contain any songs. Thought it was a fluke so tried again and same thing. Thats a big bug that just does't get a pass. Tried on multiple phones. Galaxy S22 Ultra Motorola G100 Realme X2 Pro LG Stylo 5 Pixel 4a 5G All the same issue but varied times.

Just updated to the latest version and not happy with the changes. Updating required a new install, so all of my settings had to be reset. Also, using the system back button when in a specific folder in the folder view just closes the app rather than going back to the list of folders. After playing around some, I learned that I have to tap the very narrow file path above the list of tracks which is difficult for my twitchy sausage fingers. Please reimplement the back button functionality.

This was a great music player till the last update. Many people have the same issue with a bug that prevents some album covers from being added to certain albums despite those images being enbedded on the mp3. Adding then manually doesn't work and neither do most of the solutions found searching online for a solution. The fact that so many people here have commented and NOBODY from Blackplayer have taken the time and courtesy to reply to any of thosr comments say all we know to know about them

RIP my playlists after the last buggy update, but otherwise this has been a fantastic app for me going on a decade at this point. The last update was definitely a lesson in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I shouldn't have selected it to update. Still, I cannot overstate just how excellent this app is. It's always been great. I definitely recommend.

Great Music Player. But sometimes it resets my list. Also something weird, this is available on the play store on my phone (S8) but on my dads (s23+) it doesnt. So i downloaded an apk from online and installed on my dads, it works but the app does not show on Android Auto. Is there a fix for this? Also the album cover is shown by album name. So if two artist have the same album name its going to show same cover for both.

Funny how 10 years ago I went from dragging MP3s onto the phone to Google Play Music. Was so optimistic about the future. Now, a decade later, as a Play Music refugee; here I am dragging MP3s onto my phone again. And you know what, I missed it! This player is way smoother than any other cloud based library player. Only been using it a few days. Take hold of your music and store it locally on your SD card. Never worry about getting axed. So many options, I can't handle it. Get this.

I used to love this app. As a muscian, I would compile an album / project before release. Over the past year, I noticed songs were suddenly missing. One by one, I started downloading them again from my emails. I thought maybe I was crazy, and I had deleted them. Until recently, when songs I purposely left on my device disappeared. I'm not sure what's going on, I just know I don't like it.

This was my favorite app for many years but the latest update made it bad. I'm hoping they fix it soon because the album covers are all merging together or they won't update at all when I try to manually set them. It's asking way too much for them to set automatically, of course that feature doesn't work. Hopefully the next update is soon and they fix this issue.

I came so close to writing a bad review for this app months ago... I'm so glad I didn't because this has been literally my favorite app of all time until the issues it was having. The app seems to be working perfectly once again... The way the colors of the background and text match the album colors of whatever you're listening to/ looking at is the coolest thing ever!

Now I've come back and nothing has been. Done to fix it. This is a Dead Music App!!! This player was fine at first. I would not suggest this player.. 1 - Can't set Playlist images, states unknown error. 2 - The album art keeps changing to another. I have to keep replacing the album art with the proper album art. 3 - Unable to download album art using this player. States unknown error. I have to go online and screenshot it, then save it and then manually add it.

You used to be able to select the album art for your playlist or have the app automatically set it. Now both options give you an error message every time. When setting the album art manually by searching for the album cover, saving it and selecting it for the album art, it disappears when you delete the downloaded album cover from your phone. It's like you have to keep the downloaded album covers on your phone just so it can be seen on the playlist.

Used to be the best music app out there. Tons of features. Unfortunately, it has apparently been abandoned. Does not work correctly on my new Pixel 9. I switched to Pulsar. It's similar in a lot of ways but missing a ton of features BlackPlayer had. I hope they return to developing this app because I loved using it for years.

Blackplayer used to be the best music player app on here. After the last update, it's been horrible. Literally had over 20000 songs erased from my SD card because the app malfunctioned. Luckily I was able to recover everything but it costs me about $100 for recovery software. It was worth every penny. The playlist feature was the main reason I valued this music player over others. Now this app is just horrible loading tracks, album artwork, and overwriting files. Musicolet is what I use now, 5*.

It was ok while it lasted. App was solid for everyday use. Had a unique trait to change the background to match the album art. I always had issues with the app playback when driving/connected to the car. The most recent change made several audio files unplayable in the app. App also had trouble distinguishing saved voice notes from music files.

Still has many problems, they're even worse now. I'm not sure what it is with this particular app and software updates, all of my other apps are fine. It used to be ok before the most recent update and now it won't even keep playing once I exit the app. It used to be fine playing in the background but now I have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't close. Keeping my stars where they are, it's usable but just barely. Had this app for years, really disappointed.
