I did a lot of research before I bought this camera and this seemed to be the best one out there. My experience with the app and with the support when I had a slight problem makes me feel that I made the right call in buying it. To the devs: Two small improvement ideas - on the filter screen, let me filter by bird species (not just bird). Also, show the camera battery level on the main screen. Other than that - keep up the great work!

This app is slowly getting better. It still doesn't identify birds very well using what is supposedly AI. I also get a lot of video clips where there's nothing in the clip. I think it's picking up on just movement in the background. I often have to go in and delete 20 plus videos a day out of my 'story'. They have made a few improvements. In the past, I couldn't even delete any of the videos. Although they allow me to delete videos, I still have to go back and manually refresh the app.

I followed all the instructions and got the device to connect to the app for a few seconds, but after that, the video just showed a connection error message. I could still see the battery level and turn the light on and off, so it was still connected to wifi, but there was no video. I restarted the device, and once again got a few seconds of video. The device is about four feet from the wifi router and not working at that distance. I will return it.

They leave a lot on the table. Poor UI experience, too much community video at the expense of my own. Won't switch cleanly to landscape on my iPad. It can detect squirrels and suggests using the siren and light to scare them off. Why not automate that? On and on. Amateur software engineering.

In general do not like app and design of bird feeder and software. Will be returning. Do not recommend buying. You are better off just buying a ring camera and using your own bird feeder. Cannot view videos on my phone. Cannot view videos on my PC without installing their software. Bird food gets stuck when trying to close camera door (bad design). Customer support was no help in fixing my phone issue. They just told me to refresh and then force stop and reopen app.

SO COOL! WORKS GREAT! I'm really surprised at the negative reviews. It was an easy setup and no issues with the app. Works fine on my phone, and the feeder is as expected. I have an old school hummingbird feeder next to it, and the camera captures those birds as well. I'm trying to guage how often I need to recharge for the camera so that the only downside is battery life. So far, it's about twice a week, and I just bring it in and leave it to charge overnight. Longer battery life preferred.

App is ok when working properly. Problem is that it rarely does. Live view no longer functions. Do not disturb no longer works. Tried reinstalling several times, Still have the same issues. Can no longer get live view. For the price that I paid for my Bamboo feeder, everything should work correctly. Probably will return my feeder.

Promising but has a few issues. Most of the time the live feed takes forever to load or won't load at all even with ok wifi signal at the feeder. At times the pushed videos won't play. The push notification options are awesome and the image quality on the moving closeup portrait camera is stunning on the Feeder 2. Please add the ability to see a list of all birds captured with count over all time instead of just by calendar date. I would love to see all videos of Blue Jays for example.

This truly disappointing app makes me regret my (very expensive) purchases. At first I was just disappointed at its lack of features and poor interface; but over time, I've also discovered a complete inability to do some basic, basic operations. A truly stunning lack of basic usability.

Bought the Birdfy Pro 2 Duo so far I am having issues with live video disconnecting a lot even though it's only 20 feet from router this is the main camera not the side camera. The side one doesn't disconnect. I hope they fix this issues soon. I am sure there are other bird cameras that are cheaper and does not disconnect like this one. On another note I didn't receive the y adapter for the solar panel in my kit.

Edit 2-Apr-25: still broken, dropping to one star Edit 10-Mar-25: Nothing fixed yet App design is good, but I should be able to watch the live feed for more than 10 seconds without it disconnecting. Happens every single time. WiFi signal is great and not the issue. I will resubscribe to the bird ID and come back and adjust my rating if connection issues are fixed.

I have been using this app for several months now. Overall the app itself is not bad. The UI is ok even though they have moved some items around over time. The not great part is the paid "AI". The "AI" (I use the term in quotation marks because the intelligence part is a joke) frequently identifies a bird as 3 or 4 or more species that are wildly incorrect. Update: Lowering the score because you can't edit more than one incorrect AI ID at a time. So frustrating to pay for this app.

It doesn't meet modern WiFi standards. You have to completely reconfigure your router, temporarily disable 5Ghz, turn off all features such as steering, disable custom DNS, and change the IP address schema. Tech support takes 24 hours, so I plowed through on my own. This is not for anyone with a modern mesh system that isn't technically inclined. I work in tech, and I struggled for hours. Hopefully it was worth it.

Not really user friendly. Why have 'settings' in two places? You can only adjust camera settings when on live camera. And other app settings are where you would expect. When purchasing you have no idea about the 2.4 ghz requirement. Mine fortunately is working on 5 ghz. Most modern routers don't have 2.4 any longer. It works great but is a bit confusing.

This product/app needs work. I've encountered so many issues trying to set this thing up. I had to troubleshoot my own because the help service was useless. Read through their generated script. After about 1hr of me fiddling with settings, I got it to work. No where does it tell you how to correctly set it up. Now attempting to share, which is proving to be another issue that's not fully functional seamlessly. The camera is great but for the price, I shouldn't be encountering so many issues.

Update: 2/7/2025, I tried it again. It seems to be working. But close to dark. Fingers crossed. I was excited to get the metal feeder. I got the camera setup and it's working. I can see the live feed. The very next time I go to watch the live feed it doesn't work. I repeat the setup, can see the feed, then the failure happens again. Same problem others are having. I have other devices that connect to the 2.4 wifi with no problem. Is it the camera or the app?

Nice hardware but app is mixed. We're lucky not to be impacted by the 2.4ghz restriction, but the app still leaves a lot to be desired. Navigation feels slow and somewhat unintuitive. Manual tagging is very frustrating - always suggests the same birds from the other side of the Atlantic, can't enter mammals other than the preconfigured ones. Lots of false positives motion detection with no log l living things. Notifications feel clumsy so have silenced for now and review on a daily basis.

The camera works perfectly but the app is garbage. They should make you aware that this system only runs on 2.4hz Wi-Fi. Most Wi-Fi's can bounce between one and the other but the directions Netvue gives you have you reconfiguring everything. It says there's a sleep schedule but when you hit the button all it does is say the screen is refreshed. I've put common birds on do not disturb but they show up on notifications anyway.

Spent the last several days just trying to connect my Hum Feeder to our 2.4Ghz wi-fi network at home. Finally connected after NOT using the on-screen app's instructions while on the phone with support. There are several errors in their documentation which adds to the confusion. Working OK now. Video that goes through setup is out of date, none of the screens in the video match the screens in the v1.15.1 app, which was released in late March 2025.

Multiple problems continue. I have had a lot of issues with app performance and now the most recent update removed options for sleep schedules. Now the cameras will run all night and they already have charging problems. Pitiful business practice. Pretty poor way to do that as well. Setting sleep mode is still an option but cannot schedule it so you would have to do that everyday for every camera if you want it to sleep at night.
