This is a nice, easy to use Bible. There are so many great features. You can add notes to verses as if you were writing in your margin. I have a lot of notes written from sermons and my own personal study. I use the highlighting feature to group favorite verses by color. For example, all of the salvation verses are one color so I can quickly reference them when sharing the Gospel. It is amazing to have so many reference works at my fingertips.

When it works, I love this app! I like how fast it responds, and how it allows me to show two translations side by side, and make notes. However, it has crashed, failing to open, on me a couple of times. The only solution I found was to uninstall the app and the install again. After that, it worked fine and all my books were available again. (I'm using the app on my Samsung Galaxy J3 mobile phone.) It crashed again on May 17, 2020, worked, then crashed again June 2022. Deleted it from my phone.

Excellent Bible study tool. Picks up from where you were last reading across multiple devices, wherever! Wide selection of resources from the Olive Tree Store. An app for Christ's Greater Glory! One thing though, when you "Hide and Archive" unnecessary books from the Library, it annoyingly keeps resurrecting back (e.g. I didn't need the other Bible versions). Would be great if it has a function where you can keep them from popping up again and keep the Library uncluttered.

I've used the Android and Windows versions of Olive Tree Bible app for many years. While it isn't perfect, it is the best for experienced disciples on a tight budget. It's offline feature is essential. Novices are cautioned that many available Bible "translations" are inaccurate paraphrases and/or are based on demonstrably flawed texts. Novices should be wary of ebook quality. For example: There are many typos and words added, but not part of the original text, are seldom identified.

Good app for Bible reading, online or offline. The user interface for selecting looking up a passage is well better than most Bible apps. Once two different passage mixed together from a bug, but I haven't seen that happen again. I like that there aren't distracting ads. I also like that I can access the footnotes and cross references in the translations.

I love the app overall, and the easy syncing between devices. It's a great way to have the Scriptures available to me at all times. However, I admit I seem to have a great deal of trouble with it on my Android phone. Often it just fails to load properly, resulting in my having to clear the cache and data, or even uninstall and reinstall the app. I have invested a lot of time and money in the app and additional books, and I don't regret that, but occasionally I get a little frustrated.

Olive Tree features are easily available, intuitive to find, easy to use and yet clean and sharp looking. They define themselves by providing quality at a reasonable price, with the added ability to sync notes across apps on different OS's. Last there is a user-configurable color coding system. Olive Tree has become my go to. Thanks, OT!

Many great features that I love, but, 2 cons - it keeps shutting down or freezing up over & over again, &, minorly, it doesn't have a free audio bible like some others. The shutting down is the worst thing about it, though. Edited 8/17/20: The app is getting worse and worse. I've tried updating, uninstalling & reloading and it's still crashing, closing, and acting up all the time. Can't get to my reading plan. Very sad. I used to love this app!

Suddenly buggy. The split screen sometimes doesn't open, and I have to force the app close/open. I have used Olive Tree exclusively for years. It is still very good when it works. But also now the split screen forces the Resource Center, which takes up a lot of valuable real estate, especially on a small phone like mine. This is a horrible "feature". Up until now, I was free to decide if I wanted to use the Resource Center or not, and I never did. Now I have no choice.

Thank you to the developer team for following up on my issue of no offline access. The fix was cumbersome but effective. Apparently as the app improves, older products (bibles, commentaries, ebooks, etc.) become outdated and no longer interface with new version of app. I had to delete the products and reinstall them to get them to work offline. I also had to turn on airplane mode for my android tablet to work. I guess it is a matter of keeping up with technology and changes.

I really appreciate how easy it is to navigate using this software. Finding a particular passage is just a few clicks away. I also appreciate the split screen. I have purchased the Quest commentary and loaded it to the second window. I have synced it to dynamically align with the first window's passage. It is the best I've seen for hand held computing.

Great App. (I have one improvement idea below). I really enjoy the additional organization options for notes and folders that have been added over the years. One feature I have always wanted is to be able to see the first few words of verses under the list of notes and list of highlights. There could even be a toggle button between seeing the list of highlights with what I wrote and then to instead see the same list of highlights instead with the first few words of the verse. I appreciate you!

Generally the best interface and most readable text. Periodically buggy. (Update: no current bugs.) For the last several weeks I've been unable to search - I can input a search but no results are returned. Very frustrating - search is one of the main reasons I use an app. Update: actually a misinterpretation of the GUI. Not clear that none of the search hits previewed are passing the current filters.

Love how you can add so much material, that is available across various all my devices. After a few months of usage, I've noticed a tendency for the app to occasionally lock up - requiring a complete shutdown and restart - while switching between books of the Bible. It can also be sluggish. Though the functionality is good, the user interface isn't intuitive, and a bit cumbersome.

This app has very readable fonts, a large selection of Bibles and books, ans a reasonable interface. I am still experimenting with all the features. I have had several conversations with tech support. While I didn't always get the answers I wanted, I always was treated in a professional and courteous manner. I am still having issues with this reader and am only using it when I travel. The share function doesn't make the reference, the highlight text function is buggy.

Excellent Bible study app, and it's free, with lots of other free resources. Any verses you highlight or make notes on, are synced, carried over to every other device you have the app installed on. The cross references to commentaries, dictionaries, etc you own are tied to each translation, not just the one you made the notation on. Love this Bible app! Best one for serious Bible reading or study. (and I've used several!) The learning curve is short. Support is pretty responsive!

So after the new update, I get a privacy setting that blocks the lower portion of the screen. I push accept, and it immediately crashes the program every time. Unusable now. *Update 2/20/24* Thank you so much for the tech support. I did all the steps that you listed in the email, and now it works perfectly! Big thanks to you guys for working me through it 🙌

The app is great. It works exactly as it should. Also, customer support is very quick to respond, usually within hours. The only issues I have are: Verse of the Day: The "frilly fonts" and "cutsie backgrounds" are not why I want a bible app, and they make it extremely hard to read in the notification area. They should offer an option to turn all this off and offer a "Text Only" option for Verse-of-the-Day notifications. My second issue is you cannot set a "start from here" when you leave

Update June 2024, 10 yrs later. Was 5 stars, now 3. I do not see much improvement, and actually steps backwards are standing out. It sends messages that I cannot stop and when I click the messages the app just spins and has to be killed. I've started using other apps in parallel and evaluating whether I will keep this one. Love this bible app/tool. It always works, connects to everything and is in synch on every device. Intuitive interface and easy to read.

I used to give your app 10 stars, if that were possible, but lately I'd be hard pressed to give 2 stars! Every day for the last month or more I've been hoping for an update, but I've yet to see one! 😔 Constantly losing the scripture & study center bars, even after clearing storage, which I sometimes do daily! I've also reinstalled several times to no avail. Very frustrating! 😤 This has been my #1 go to app for years! I sincerely hope there's an update soon! 🙄
