How to play the backgammon game

- Classic backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles. These triangles are called points.
- Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white.
- To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice. That’s why free backgammon is often called a dice game.
- Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points.
- Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the backgammon board.
- A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board

A few more things to know about this free Backgammon game

- Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time.
- You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces while playing a backgammon game.
- If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition.

I uninstalled the game after only three rounds. The AI opponent always seems to get doubles more than me. And the game always starts somewhere in the middle. Never at the beginning. Plus, It would be nice if the board was laid out like a regular board - with home at either end of the board instead of above / below.

I liked the game at first. I've been playing it a while. And now, it seems the AI is always getting the perfect roll it needs to hit me and/double up its chips. I'd say it happens better than 90% of the time. My opinion is that the programming is set up so the computer can cheat. - update: you say the AI doesn't cheat. Then how does the game double up its chips on every move when it gets the perfect move 95% of the time.

This used to be my favorite game until a couple of weeks ago. Now I can rarely win a game. If I get doubles, it is double one's or two's if I get a higher double, I am blocked to play. Every time I have a man by itself, my opponent ALWAYS rolls the number they need to send me back home. It is definitely a rigged game now! I am fixing to uninstall the game. It's a shame as I like this game.

The computer in this game cheats. 98% of the time, it rolls the exact number so it isn't left out in the open. As for doubles, it rolls more than expected in a game. Upon looking at reviews from other people, they report the same issue. However, the software company denies a problem. You have a problem with your AI! I've even seen it cheat. It rolls a certain number and can't get one in. However, they move one in any way.

The computer always rolls far more doubles than the player. I wasn't surprised to see other reviews saying the same. Last game I played the computer rolled 3 doubles in a row. Otherwise the graphics are nice and it doesn't crash. ::Edit:: I see the developer has answered other reviews saying the dice rolls are fair, but with every reviewer saying the opposite, obviously something is going on. I just played a round- the computer got four double sixes, along with four other double rolls.

Good, but computer rolls double 6s every game. If that were different, then it would be more enjoyable. But everytime the computer needs a double roll, it gets it. I played more times after the reply, and the computer still consistently gets more double rolls, especially at the end of the game. When all pieces are in the final section of the board, it's amazing how I will always get low dice totals and the computer gets high totals and doubles. Uninstalled.

This game is not random. There is an algorithm. I can predict what the computer will role for itself and for me almost every time. These tech games are not nearly as good as the physical game. When the computer can get 6+ sets of doubles per game and a person can't get more than a couple, it isn't random., not when the odds are always in the computers favor.

Installed it. Played it for over a month. It does appear to get more doubles and/or good rolls at times. I have played over 3 months of the challenges. In the last week, it started taking 2 to 4 attempts before I could win the game. Also the number of ads increased making the game unbearable to play. More time watching ads, than playing the game. I have removed the game from my phone.

Been playing it about a week now. At first the ads didn't seem to bad. Now I'm getting 3-4 ads per game. And each ad seems to be longer than the previous. On top of that, during today's challenge game, the computer rolled 4 sets of doubles, consecutively, in the end stage of the game. I had the game won until that point. Deleting the game now.

I like this game overall, especially once I paid to remove ads. However, I decided to test the dice rolling system. After several months of trying multiple times ever day to win the starting throw to determine who goes first, I've discovered that ON AVERAGE it happens one out of six times. That's restarting the game each time and trying again until I can go first. It is rare that it happens in the first three attempts. There is no way that it's truly random with those odds.

I have never played a more rigged experience in my life. Of the four backgammon games specifically I've played, this one is atrocious. The bot always goes first, will always get the exact rolls, get doubles about three times more often than you. The ads, on top of everything are the most invasive, and have such small close buttons, that you will almost always end up opening the app store. Do NOT download this game. There are better.

I have been playing this game for over 2 years. Something has changed recently. The computer always rolled more doubles than me, but now the computer rolls the perfect combination almost every single time to knock me out. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but I get the same results. It is statistically impossible to get the rolls that the computer gets. From the other ratings and comments, I see others are having the same luck.

This can be lots of fun. But there are times when dice get strange. I definitely understand in a rl game, sometimes you play someone who is on a lucky streak, and they keep shooting doubles. But when you play a tournament and everyone you play, is rolling 5 to 6 sets of double to your 1 set of double time and time again, then there's something wrong with the algorithm.

The AI is obviously set up. It's very frustrating to not be able to just play a game and have it be fair. I've played this game for yrs and I like the way this one is set up but if you choose to play a more challenging level it's obvious the Ai Controls the game and it ruins the whole experience. I'm not interested in playing a game that controls the moves, and the win, oh but it'll let you lose by 1 piece to keep you playing. Sorry but AI controlling it just takes the fun out of it, why play.

The Pros: Clean design Fast play No weird side games No in game purchases The Cons: It's basic. The app doesn't even store stats. You don't get to name yourself or choose an avatar. The play is against a kinda stupid AI. There are no leaderboards. It's like the developers stopped halfway through. All in all it gets boring quickly. Having said that I bought it to remove the ads and don't regret it. I actually kind of like that it gets boring so I get off my phone and find something else to do. 😅

I like this game. It's attractive and easy to play, but the random number generator is not random. The computer opponent nearly always gets fantastic, often game saving rolls. It goes beyond the computer maximizing its opportunities. No human opponent would ever have the kind of "luck" the computer opponent has. If you are looking to improve your backgammon skills, this game will do it. You have to play exceptionally well to win.

The Game Cheats.. I played several times and wrote down all the times it had doubles all the time the other players had doubles and the amount of times we both win... For example : I always on the first roll get either 4, 3, 1, or lower.. every once in awhile I might get a 5 or 6 ..but thats it..real dice don't copy the last time you play almost every time I start off... feel they put you against a AI, it learns your moves.. Watch out people AI

Would be a fun game. Unfortunately they have it set up for the computer to win most of the times . after playing several games I have noticed the computer rolled double 3 or more times in a roll every game it also seems to roll the perfect combo on the Dice 90 % of the time. If you land on its disk it will roll the correct number for the only space open it can play almost every time. They if you are ahead you roll 2-1 or 3-2 I rolled 3-1 4 times in a row and it happens every game. Fix it.

I think it cheats. The dice throws don't seem to be all that random. I noticed that it gets significantly more doubles than I do. on the last game, it got six doubles and I got none. Seriously. I counted. Also, long ads in the middle of the game ruin the flow. Uninstalling. And, yes. I understand statistics. I noticed it from the very beginning of playing.

There is such a bias in the dice rolling of this game, that it's painful. At least in Vegas you know they want to make money but I just get the motivation here. The number of moves remaining when no pieces have been taken runs uncharacteristically in favor of the automated player and if you have to take a piece because there's no option then you always lose yours the very next roll. Also the number of doubles you will roll versus your opponent just doesn't add up. Don't waste time!
