Been using this for probably over 5-6 years now and it's still my main wallpaper app. Great interface, Good selection of themes to choose from, and pro features are well priced! The only issues I'm having is with my OnePlus 8 the set wallpaper function keeps offsetting the wallpapers to the right sightly, so I always have to apply the wallpaper using another application. Hope this gets addressed soon!

It's a fun adventure to open this up occasionally and start scrolling endlessly for your new set of wallpaper. Only thing is that all searches only give back exact titles of named uploads by creators alongside other filter options. You can't type up just any random keywords if they don't match a titled wallpaper as it won't generate an endless selection of wallpapers centered around the CONTEXT of that keyword. I recommend Zedge for that as their library is INFINITELY bigger. Still great though!

Good collection of wallpapers, and they recently updated the app to auto shuffle. Frequently release new wallpapers. They advertise a set of premium wallpapers (Cosmic Journeys) that CANNOT be used through the app, you need to download and set them individually. The dev was nice enough to refund me when I requested it, which was nice of them. Just wish I could use those wallpapers through the app.

Ads everywhere, lol Edit: C'mon Devs. Actually, I prefer banner ads instead of 30 seconds!! ad videos for downloading a single wallpaper. Saving a wallpaper is the only use of any wallpaper app, in my opinion, and I don't want to wait 30 seconds for a download. So yeah, wallpapers are cooler than the other apps I have, but unfortunately, it's painful to use.

Beautiful wallpapers. App is very easy to use, and I appreciate that it's available as ad-free with Play Pass. It would be cool if there was a way to set the "Wall of the Day" as my wallpaper and it would just change my wallpaper each day automatically, or to have it change through my favorites on a schedule I set (daily, weekly, hourly). Would also love to see live wallpapers - even if it's just subtle, like trees slightly moving or a bird flying by.

New layout looks good but lost core functionality. I used the feature all the time where you could hold down on the "set" button to choose an app to set the wallpaper with. That's gone now, and the new "set with" button doesn't even let you choose which app to set it with either. Add that functionality back and you're golden.

I clicked on a wallpaper and a full screen video ad came up and started playing with sound. I could not back out or anything for four seconds. That kind of behavior gets this app one star. edit: In response to the developer, I don't have a problem with ads. I have a problem with bad UX. Playing a fullscreen add with sound is not a good experience.

I absolutely love this app ♥️♥️♥️ it has some of the best quality wallpapers. They all look amazing on my phone (pixel 7 pro). They have a really large selection & they're all amazing quality. The only thing is there aren't categories so you've got to scroll but honestly I don't mind lol I find stuff I usually wouldn't have picked or even thought to look for. I've used Zedge in the past but the quality varies greatly this isn't like that all of them are 👍👍👍.

A must-have! I was skeptical, "why do I need this"; "it's gonna be a clunky interface"; "ewww". Nope, wrong on all accounts. I do have a Play Pass subscription, so I bypassed issues with ads or feature locks or whatever. But, that also let's me say that Play Pass is a bargain. Excellent app, enjoying it more than I thought I would!

I tried with Play Pass and very much like the app. You can choose by category, select favorites, and even set wallpaper of the day by long pressing icon on home screen. Loads very quickly, and if long pressing on "set" you can resize/move the wallpaper for your screen. Not experiencing any issues as described by others and have been using for a few months now. Great job devs!

There's no way to actually preview a full background image in this app. It shows you the top half, with the bottom half obscured by the user interface. Your only option is to save the file and preview it from another app, or just set it as your wallpaper and hope you like the entire image. This seems like a fundamental oversight in such a basic, single-purpose app.

I've used countless wallpaper apps my entire life and this is the first great one. The wallpapers simple, very high quality and are just nice to look at. There's a big selection. Not an overwhelming amount of ads and the art and app is so nice that I don't even mind when they do pop up. You can save your favorites and choose between making a wallpaper a lock screen or home screen background, or both. 10/10 for me. I've already switched wallpapers a few times because there's so many good ones

This app was great for a few years, but now it's filled with AI generated images that look laughably bad and low-resolution. Gone are the nice, custom-made backgrounds, replaced by low-effort, messy AI generated images. ALL of their "Premium" wallpapers are AI-generated, and charging $9.99+ a pop is incredibly scummy behavior seeing as Backdrops doesn't actually own any of these wallpapers. Be (much) better, devs.

Backdrops is my favorite wallpaper app on Android after trying at least 13 different ones. Backdrops may not have the sheer number of wallpapers that some other apps have, but the wallpapers they do have are well-made and not just images you can simply find on stock photos and Google Images. I like Backdrop so much that I decided to support them by buying Pro for $2.49. You definitely do not need to pay for Pro and still enjoy the app tremendously, as most wallpapers are free. You'll see some simple ads, but they can all be closed immediately. Pro does give you some minor additional features and allow you to use some exclusive wallpapers.

The download counts are highly inaccurate. Even if I long press to preview the wall paper, the app treats it as a download and updates the count. This is somewhat misleading. Additionally, there is no option to shuffle/randomize wallpapers as you are forced to stick to the layout and browse based on categories. This is somewhat tedious. Overall, fairly decent selection of wallpapers.

Nice collection of wallpapers. Needs some work though. Would like to have a better way of knowing what wallpapers are new like a New section. Maybe add a way of showing which ones I've already downloaded, not just favorites. When saving the wallpapers, it also saves an error white image along with it. Also, would be nice to see the whole image and not just a crop of it on the preview. There's no way to see the full image unless you save the image to your phone.

Two stars for using AI-generated imagery without labeling it as such. I have enjoyed the wallpapers this app provides for many years. Unfortunately, the increasing amount of AI-generated content is not labeled as such, and more importantly does not meet my standards for artistic quality. The whole point of this app is curation, but I've lost trust in the curators. They're taking the easy way out to meet their desired content cadence.

Really lovely wallpaper app. I like it a lot, and I have paid for the premium version. One issue I have with it, though, is the auto switch feature. It's unreliable, and it tends to cycle through very few wallpapers, and not all of the "favorites" that I have selected.

After several months of use, an update to my initial post was in order. Original impressions earned it four stars. Access to the FULL featured version, thank you 'Play Pass', made this mandatory. Wallpaper apps are categorized, with little thought, as 'dime a dozen'. Given their due, these apps CAN impress. This app provides the 'pudding'; access to an enormous image library, precise individual image detail, TRUE download capability (you own it), value added in-app image organization, etc, etc.

05/31/24 - wallpaper switching stopped working again! Doesn't switch. 05/10/24 - Wallpaper switches through my Favorites every 12 hours as I chose. Yay! 05/06/24 - "Switch Walls Every" doesn't work. I have to to turn off/on Auto Switch everyday to make it switch as it commonly reverts back to Android stock wallpaper. Battery optimization is turned off. Set for 6 hours, it might switch once or twice in the day, but then stops and reverts back to Android stock wallpaper within a day or two.
