More About Back Wars

When an army travels back in time to rule the world 1,000 years in advance, they get more than they bargained for from their primitive counterparts! Lead the resistance with hundreds of warriors from different cultures all over the world. Focus on one individual or step back to command an entire army at your fingertips. Combining world-dominating strategy with fully interactive battles, this game offers the best of both worlds! And just when you think it's over, history might just repeat itself...
UPGRADES
The game is mostly free to play, but you can upgrade to take control of your experience - choosing which side and how much territory to start with. You can also blow off steam with fantasy battles between any 2 cultures - and as many warriors as your device can handle! For what it's worth, you can also edit every character in the world - but please note that this game uses up to 1,000 of them that are regularly replaced.

CONTROLS
When controlling a specific character, this game offers either the "Classic" 1-handed control system or "Dual Wield" where each hand is controlled separately. If you are not already familiar with these from previous games in the series, you can pause the action at any time by hitting the dateline and then study the "Controls" guide. Also look out for in-game hints from scrolls or books that you can read.

In this game, you can change which member of the team you are controlling at any time by either tapping the health meter or literally pointing to them on the battlefield. By tapping the arrows at the bottom of the screen, you can also activate "Commander" mode where you step back and direct any active member of your team by simply swiping from their location to another. Whether you intend them to relocate, fight an enemy, or pick up an object, they will try to make sense of your instructions. But please bear in mind that they can only do so at their convenience and may have other priorities!

Whatever device or control method you are using, you can always zoom in or out by pinching at the centre of the screen.

MAP
The main "Campaign" game mode requires you to increase your territory by moving units from one area to any connected one. You can either "fortify" an existing territory or attempt to seize a rival territory. Note that only 50% of the units in a territory will be available to travel - which necessarily makes it harder to invade than it is to defend.

The population of any inhabited territory may grow after each round, so it is important to control as many as possible. Notice that units will also gradually heal over time, so it is a good idea to work with different locations each turn.

PERFORMANCE
Please note that this is the largest scale game I have made yet, and may require a high-end device to run at 100%. Consider keeping the "Population" low to reduce the number of characters on screen, or tone down other features in the "Display" options.

I regret there is more to this game than I could ever explain here, so I hope you enjoy figuring some things out for yourself!

Pretty much just as fun as any other mdickie games with a few gripes. 1. The animals are out of control and annoying as hell. They will charge at you full force and kill you in an instant without control. 2. If you decide to choose future or present, you will be mowed down by trigger happy teammates over and over. 3. Game is very easily beatable, I tried as many variations of the game with all ending the same way with minimal difference each play through.

This Is definitely his worst game but it is not as bad as others are rating it. The main issue the game has performance issues even on 3v3 matches and minimal graphics settings it still gets awful stutter and can fell unplayable. There is also a problem where you teammates will start talking to you which gives the enemy time to get up and start fighting back. It is still fun and hallarious but I would of loved to see the performance issues be ironed out before he retired

As much as there are very high attributes to this game, there are many glaring faults as well. At times I can't see my player, and before I know it he runs out and gives up. My team retreats. Sometimes my team member runs away from the fight without asking my permission. The opponent's seem too powerful, with no difficulty level options. So marks for the game play, thought behind this idea, and marks on making a comprehensive game. But.....

Well i have been a big fan since i saw jacksepticeye play hard time but what ruins your games is the payment, i can afford it but it feels like you are being too greedy with this. I can handle paying for no ads but in this you get stuck as the past and another issue is this annoying feauture where you do this 5 second animation when you pick up a new weapon. Thx.

Just finished a campaign of this, and I had a good time for half of it! Played as the Past, never switched sides, and while it took a little getting used to the tech gap, eventually I was smartly defeating the Present with few if any losses. I then found out there's the future. The future is heavily armoured, better teched, and will spawn with 10 in some random territories you took over. Ok, took me a while of adjusting, but their weapons arent necessarily better, but they are beefier. Then came the zombies. This took me more than half my playtime - not because they were better, but because the AI and mechanics aren't fit. Zombies can grapple you and bite you from within the range of most melee weapons. When biting you, you cannot escape manually - maybe its stat based? Your AI cannot free you, because they dont know how. This bite can take you from 100 to 0. People die quicker when downed by a zombie. They can only be killed by head damage; and you cannot guarantee head damage by using melee weapons OR ranged. You have higher chance with ranged, but even if you aim right, sometimes they just get damaged and their head isnt killed. Sometimes they have head armour.

This game is beautiful, 10 out of 10. One of the best MDicke games ever cause it has an endgame. Remeber beating the present and thinking "oh, I'm done" only for the future to pop up, amazing. For those who dont want to start from the past, y not? Games are to be challenging, starting from the past is the best because you have to evolve and steal weapons. The animals are a pain but its nature (and, you can just blow them up). The tanks are a cheat code, wish we could ride them. Beautiful game.

I've been waiting for this one. A 2D version of World War Alpha for moblie, and must I say it is pretty entertaining. It's a fun game, battle to the death between armies and conquering territories with Tanks, Catapults, a variety of ranged and melee weapons and more. This game was exactly what I wanted and more on the side. Another one of your titles that stood out to me.

The campaign does not let you win at all unless you wanna spend countless hours. Every time you fully take over the world it conveniently spawns a new enemy faction that is even harder than the last. After the third time of having some random enemy take over I quit, it's repetitive on top of the low quality AI and combat system. Only thing good going with this is the theme

Worst MDickie ever. Where so I even begin. The AI is atrocious considering that they move so much and in such weird ways to so when I try to shoot them once they stand still for half a second, they completely dodge it because they just move up at the last second. The animals were a cool concept at first until you have tigers chasing only you and killing you. The controls are awful. But my favorite is that they literally made the game pay to win and it's a single player game. Still love MDickie.

I really hate the direction this game went towards. The war and battle mechanics sound good in writing, but its long, boring, and barely enjoyable. And once you finally think you won, the future soldiers pop in and kill everyone without any possibility of winning unless youre practically a god. Besides the difficulty to even beat it all, its just so tedious. Hard Time and School Days were great titles, had a lot of freedom, you made your own character and led your own life. In this, you play as everyone. Again, sounds great on paper, but it just adds complications and another layer of difficulty. I know the dev was just trying to take a turn in a new direction, but its a bad step. The games made by MDickie were mainly enjoyed by its simplicity. Take away the simplicity, and you get... THIS. Sure, its a well coded, well made game, but it needs to be simplified and the future characters are far too OP. They should- no.. NEED to be nerfed. All in all, decent game, but its stripped of its simplicity, and causes it to lose its fun and charm.

This is a pretty cool game. It was hard at times, which made me rage. But I finally completed the game the zombies were mainly not to difficult since they are slow can't use weapons like a gun to shoot your team. I used a strategy to be able to beat the game. Anyways good work!!! P.S I didn't even need to buy the gamepass to beat the game lol. I used a strategy by after defeating the present as the past, when the future come to take over I joined them killed em, betrayed them, then became past.

This would be okay, if the AI wasn't abismal and the game didn't keep dragging on. The enemies and your teammates use the same tactics that were necessary to survive in Mdickie's past games. What this leads to is the Present and Future having an outrageous advantage over the Past, the team you're forced to side with. The only real way to overpower them is to take the overpowered weapons and cheat before they do. The future suddenly appearing after the entire Present , zombies were a bit shallow and seemed like a simple reuse of assets, not to mention you have to destroy their brains in order to kill, which practically requires a spear or laser gun. The ending of campaign is worthless, it's literally just text saying "The Past celebrates World Peace!". Clicking on a country will show your units celebrating. That's it. That's the whole reward. All that's left after that is Battle. A mode that's most certainly not worth any amount of money. If you're bored, this is an ok time-killer and it has a charm to it, but I would strongly advise against giving MDickie any money for another unfinished and poorly programmed wrestling engine game.

Grand idea, but lacking execution. Controls are difficult, and there are no explanations. AI can perform crazy wrestling moves, but player can't. AI can effectively use ranged weapons, but player will aim anywhere other than at enemy (if not at EXACTLY the right spot, is a total miss). If AI is knocked down, will be up again shortly. If player is knocked down, might be down the entire battle. Elements included of crafting/harvesting/item use, but the battles are too busy to do so. Overall, a clumsy UI and a clumsy experience, especially with the awful adds.

Awesome, been playing Mdickie games since WR and this is one of my favorites. It could use some improvement like I would love to see an option to disable the future or zombies after I beat the initial enemy if I just want one war. But otherwise, solid game, I love how your games have been tying into each other. School Days is a sequel to Hard Times almost, Back Wars is a sequel to Extra Lives and WR, Popscene, and Wrecked are some kind of spin off in the same in universe. Anyway, awesome game Mat!

Really fun great game. Great concept and fighting system. The problem is the difficulty and somewhat wonky game mechanics. Firstly, the enemies from the present take WAAAY too much damage and it's completely unfair because not only do they usually out number u, they also have better weapons and do more damage and have perfect accuracy. There needs to be some sort of aim assist in this game. Trying to shoot or attack AI requires u to be on the EXACT same elevation as them. Team AI are also dumb.

In the middle of a battle, someone will pop off with some useless information forcing me to zoom in on them and lose control. It doesnt even pause the game, letting enemies get the upper hand all because your team won't shut up. After the match, you should be looking for weapons and bones. Instead, you sit around shaking hands and hugging the entire time. It's infuriating. The animals are completely random and will seemingly target you no matter what. As for it being hard, it's not that hard

This game is great, but recently I've been having a problem, when ever i get in a game, and attack someplace, the game glitches out and stuff bugs around the screen, and never starts the battle. Really sucks its a good games, but explaining controls should be added, like someone who hasn't played hard time, or school days, or anypast experience with these games, is going to really struggle

This game is really fun if you're strategic and have time to play, there are some flaws that really annoy me. First e button layout is too bunched up and has gotten me killed because I accidentally hit something other than the desired button. Secondly, the zombies are too strong I ended up spending 30 minutes trying to complete half of the zombie held area because they're too strong and take like 50 hits just to injure them.

(Im changing my comment after buying the upgrade). Without the upgrade, the game is mediocre at most. It also might get repetitve and/or boring. However, the upgrade makes the game amazing. It's so fun to recreate classic battles or create your own battles with the battle mode. Also the "future" is very overpowered, which they should be. And its fun going back in time as a futuristic robot exterminating tribes. I heard there's zombies in this game too, but i havent unlocked them yet. Also, thanks so much for improving the team combat, I hates how in supercity, you would always accidentally hit your teammate in battle, so thanks for fixing that. But anyways, go ahead and pay the $2.99 it's very worth it. Great game Mat, some people just don't realize how much of a gem this is.

Apparently if you misclicked when somebody says "Are you trying to kill us BOTH!" and accidentally say "I want to change teams!" it actually switches your team permanently for the entire game and I don't know if there is something to do to switch back, but I don't want to be on the enemy's team. I'm literally at the part with zombies and now I have to do everything all over again because of a misclick. Please add something to switch teams more than once, something simple like in the pause menu.
