If I could give more stars, I would. For a free version of an app, it has AMAZING controls and display options, minimal ads, and coming from a Cybersecurity background, a safe way to watch your baby without some guy in India also tuning in.. which is something even the expensive apps like Ring can't get right. Ive already recommended it to family and friends, but it's the only app I trust to my newborn β€οΈπ

I am using this app for almost an year now and I am happy with it. Does all what I need. Sometimes video get stuck or update images late, I think it happens when there is movements like baby moving. That time it becomes slow. One question though, do we have this app for Apple users too? I couldn't find any link to download it on iPhone.

There are a number of bugs with this app. It is one of the better ones out there though. But it will freeze and crash a couple times during use. It will cycle you back through selections a couple times when you open it - so you select Parent, Automatic Connection, then Parent again, then Automatic Connection again, etc. I do like being able to take pictures, play a lullaby, or speak through the phone using the camera. The night vision isn't very good, I just use a night light instead.

Best baby monitor app EVER! Save the money you would spend on expensive baby monitor equipment and just download this app! IT'S FRRREEEEE! There are of course ads in order for it to be free but they are honestly not bad at all and don't interfere with functionality or interface whatsoever. Or you can opt out of the ads altogether if they bug you that much for a small fee..... and it's still just a few dollars vs the of hundreds you would normally spend on equipment. + SO MANY COOL FEATURES!

Thank you for this app! It's awesome; simple to use, I love the large buttons, clearly labelled, and the useful options like allowing me to talk to baby to soothe her or playing lullabies, turning on the camera light. It even has a feature that you can set if the noise level exceeds a threshold you choose, it will send an alert. The only thing I can't figure out yet, if it exists, is how to make the alert require me to dismiss it, make it get louder if I don't or change. I'm afraid I won't hear

Free version worked great we were highly impressed. We saw we could upgrade to the premium version for $2 which we would gladly have paid then more for. The minute we upgraded the app turned into the most bug ridden piece of garbage. We've tried multiple phones in baby's room and receiving phones and it's definitely not a hardware issue. Save yourself the grief and don't upgrade my attempts to contact the developer go unanswered.

It takes several seconds of noise to trigger a notification. It is set for way to long to be useful for a baby monitor. It absolutely needs a setting to adjust the duration of noise . It works for crying babies but not if they wake up happy. Edit: it is not hard to do. Create a setting to change the amount of time it takes at that noise level.

Bought premium, still breaks. The screen goes black for no reason. I'm about to find another app.I had it updated, thought the update is what was messing with it,nope. Screen freezes, son fell out of his crib while using this. It randomly turns off when running in background even with the app approved to run in the background. Audio seems to turn off randomly.

This app works awesome! Great for security surveillance. Great features like being able to zoom in/out, turn flash on/off, record and take pictures and audio. This is one of the only apps that allows wifi direct without internet or going through a router. No annoying advertising either. Great job!!! Update: I wanted everyone know I use this for security, I set the baby cam in a mini-van with a tripod and phone holder then use the car charger to the phone. Don't have issues with low battery.π

This app working great. I use it for a security camera. I don't have an internet Wi-Fi connection. The Wi-Fi direct works great plus all the features like you can turn the light on/off remotely, zoom in/out, switch from front camera to rear camera, take pictures or videos all remotely. I use a tripod with cellphone holder set the phone to the baby's camera and plug the phone into a car charger, place the tripod setup inside vehicle and aim out the window at the area you want surveillance on.

This app is a lifesaver & has given me peace of mind. I can speak to her &let her know I'm coming, I can set volume alerts & get a notification the moment a sound is made, I can take pics or record her, but the best part is the safety of it. You have to be on the same wifi network to see it. The chromecast capability is amazing! Being able to see her on the tv while I clean or just relax is so convenient. & I'm able to watch her on my phone while running other apps. GET PREMIUM! ITS WORTH IT!!

Love this, made it so much easier to keep an eye on the baby when I had to move him out of of the hubby and i' s bedroom. Also is great for keeping an eye on the baby when he is napping and I need to do some gardening outside, showering, cooking, ect. Can take pictures and videoes, however you cannot take a video and watch live feed at the same time. The sound is super clear & sensitive. The ads are soundless and small, just a thin strip at the very bottom of the screen. Great app!

Very simple to set up and use. The developer did a nice job of making this user friendly for non-technical people. He promptly replied to my previous review. Really impressed with the dev, and with the app. Unfortunately, iOS or Safari (on Mac) cannot get audio from this cam app (not the app's fault). Perhaps a "audio level meter" bar-graph would be useful in such situation? Would be nice if the client side had a more noticeable "loss of signal" feature and alert -- that would be helpful... Overall, a great product.

Overall it works pretty well. But one thing I don't like is that it really shouldn't turn on UPnP by default with passwordless connection by default!! Also the unskippable help messages can get a bit annoying as you'll have to go through them for each device you set up. Please make the default settings are more secure. I suggest turning off UPnP by default, and pop up a big warning if it's being turned on without a password set (or even prevent the two together). Explain it clearly that someone outside the network can look at the camera otherwise. The port should be randomized as well 8080 is very common and easy to guess. Apart from that it would be great to access the direct url of the stream so that it can be consumed by an NVR. Perhaps support ONVIF? I moved to IP Webcam in the meantime, but BabyCam seems tobe using less battery so I'm waiting for the improvements.

For a long time I was trying to figure out a way to monitor cats in the field by video with no internet. This works! Easy to set up quickly, it's a great way to see if they have a tipped ear. Some improvements would be zoom off center, also I prefer the controls for zoom and light as they are on the baby's cam. It's hard when you can't see half the picture when making adjustments. I'd give 4.5, I'm very happy with itπ

Once one figures out the UI, this app is pretty good at it's job as long as one is not listening to music on the "Parent" device - in which case the "Baby" sounds get lost in the music. What's missing: - The ability to turn up the baby-side's sound so it does not get lost when l listen to music via earbuds - Restoring the app's state as it was last time it was closed (e.g. setting Listen=True if it was set last time. UPDATE: Just added one more star. The app is growing on me with use,

Used this app for over a year. I only use the free option, as I only need to use it for a few minutes at a time while my baby naps so I can get things done in the other room. You have to watch literally one ad every time you relaunch the camera but that's it, then you can use the camera as long as you need to. One small ad at the bottom of the app, not a bother at all! You can do other things on the phone & still have the box in the corner to see & hear the baby! A bit glitchy but good enough.

Pro: 1. It is a camera app. It works. 2. Can use wifi direct. Cons: 1. Notifications! The was some strong language at startup that notifications were necessary. Today is woke me in the middle of the night because it lost connection to the camera. Dismissed, try to sleep, get the notification again! 2. Child room phone screen light is on. I tried to turn it off locally on the child phone and remotely on the patent phone. Same result: screen turns back on eventually. Uninstalled.

The Wifi Direct feature is finicky: on the "baby" device I must start the app with device's wifi off and let the app turn it on, and I needed to disable automatic connection to my wifi router on both "baby" & "parent" devices. The recording feature seems inefficient and risky: the video doesn't get copied & saved to the viewer device until after you stop recording, instead of realtime saving. (I worked around it by installing a screen recording app.) The app also forgets resolution setting.

Great program and the ads are very reasonable for a free app, basically at setup you watch one when doing the connection to the camera and then a very very small banner on the video page in full screen and at the bottom of the video before the controls on split screen. Never bothers me and so far never any with sound cause that would be a show stopper when it wakes up the baby!
