It has a lot of potential, but I don't think it's there yet. It was destroying my battery life. There are also some bugs that need squashing: for example, the auto-start is supposed to trigger only when connected to my car bluetooth, but it was triggering with any bluetooth connection to my phone. I'll try it again at a later date and see if things have improved.

Overall I like this app and use it daily. Here's some suggestions though b 1) The audio player needs to be able to switch apps automatically. I shouldn't have to manually change the player to a different app. 2) The audio player should accept any app that transmits audio. It shouldn't be limited to only a few apps. 3) I like the widgets it currently has, but I should be able to add any widgets that apps make available. 4) The weather app should have background or better theming.

So far this launcher has fulfilled my desire to run something similar to android auto on my head unit (without phone connection). I bought the lifetime subscript! Recommendations for improvements: 1) When not navigating to a destination, the map on the home screen is updating every second making for distracting choppy movement, 2) Please add Google Messages and Google Voice to the selectable message notification apps, 3) Add functional slider for music widget. Thank you for this app!

I downloaded AutoZen since Android Auto doesn't work unless you set a destination. This app for right now is the replacement BUT there are some issues that need to be fixed to get four/five stars. 1. Clicking on some shortcuts - IE Google Podcast doesn't open the podcast app. Instead it opens google. While driving this isn't safe while you have to go through your apps to find the actual app you want. It sometimes this with YouTubeMusic app as well. Sometimes it will open Youtube itself.

Great launcher with room to grow. To the dev, I've been looking for a AA like launcher FOR MY EBIKE for a minute. I've tried many launchers, and yours is the closest to what I've been looking, and after trying it out I decided to buy it. KUDOS! I would love to see the following added: ability to add Google Voice to the messaging app list, lock the screen orientation, ability to flop the side of the screen the map sits on in cool walk launcher home screen view, and ability to use custom icons.

Great App, I like it more than Android Auto. I only have 2 request/recommendations at this time. 1) The now playing bar at the bottom should automatically change to whatever app is playing instead of manually having to choose and when hitting play should launch and resume what was playing before. 2) An app drawer shortcut that can be added to the app shortcuts widget so you can access all the apps. That's all for now, I paid for the lifetime subscription, well worth it. Keep up the great work

I started using this app as a replacement for Android auto for phone screens. This app is very good, but not great. To recieve 5 Stars I would need to see the following features: 1. Respond to text messages from Google voice app 2. Directly select music/podcast/audiobook to be played from within the AutoZen app. I will say the bubble is a nice work around. In spite of my criticism, I find this app is the best app to replace Android auto for phone screens.

Edit: The developer responded quickly to my complaint. Their suggestions worked, but it won't read texts aloud. It displays them- but that's no help when I'm driving. It uses WAY too much battery. Not the app for me. Original: "Can't find settings anywhere. Needs an option to switch temperature to Fahrenheit. Stays on the map rather than having a home screen. I find having the map open at all times very distracting when I don't need it. The map seems to be turned sideways? Displays weird."

A great option for the car. Has a lot of potential and does some things better than Android Auto did. I will be leaving to something else and coming back at a later time though due to a few things. Like I am not a fan of Mapbox (HERE would be better I think), there are too many events that take you out of the app ruining the automated experience, and battery life seems harsher. It has a lot of potential though so I paid for Premium to support the dev and I will be back!

Short review: If you are looking for the Android Auto dash experience on your phone, you're not going to do better than this app. I only give it four stars instead of five because I only give five stars to apps I purchase (or would be willing to) and I'm not sold on this one. I highly recommend giving it a try. Strengths: * - Familiar and intuitive if you use Android Auto. * - As with Android Auto, it manages both music and maps on the same screen. * - The premium map is surprisingly good so far. A little overly conservative on the ETA, but fine unless you need a more exact time of arrival. * - Support for HereWeGo, in addition to GMaps and Waze. * - Very stable, which is important for a road app. Weaknesses: * - Getting AutoZen to use the media app you want is neither intuitive nor recommended if you are driving. Ideally, selecting an app in the app section would also make it the app in the media section but instead you may have to do it twice. It would also be good if, when selecting a media app in the media selection, if it looked more like the apps section with icons instead of text and a list box. * - If using external software (like Google Maps) you can easily get back to AutoZen but you don't have media and maps in the same place, which is the main thing I am concerned about. Having a floating pause/play, like the floating "Back go Autozen" button, would be helpful here.

Most disappointing about the native Mapbox provider is that it does a terrible job of rerouting. If I choose to take a slightly different way home, it's slow in rerouting and puts me on streets that are further away from my house than closer. Result is that I have no confidence that the AutoZen navigation will correctly take me to my intended destination. It's a good thing I actually know my way home! You're better off selecting Google Navigation or Waze, instead of AutoZen, for navigation.

I love this app. It is a great alternative to not having a touch screen in the car. The fact that I can switch music apps and my favorite radio stations with the touch of my screen all while having the maps still going. I really like the fact that it starts up as soon as I connect to my Bluetooth device connected to my radio, which is just connected through the auxiliary cable. The only issue which is very minor your actual speed limit does not change colors if it's over the posted limit.

Paid for the full version because YES it is that good! BUT, the maps seems to be too zoomed in while driving and the arrow icon is a little 'blurry'. I just wish you could set the zoom on the map while still being centered, or it automatically zoom in and out based on the speed you are going (like the maps in other launchers). Music integration is fantastic and the customization is something I haven't seen in other dashboard/launchers. Thanks for the awesome work, can't wait for the next update!

I just installed an aftermarket Android head unit in my car and quickly switch to AutoZen as my default launcher. I love the beta view with 2/3rds of the screen being the map, then music in the bottom corner with 4 apps in the top corner. The only fix I would like would be to the music widget in the beta. I use YouTube music and the app doesn't always function when I restart the car. I have to go into YouTube music and reselect the music to start playing. It's beta so it gets a pass.

Excellent driving assistant. It's a very straightforward interface, and brings up the most popular apps you'll want to use while driving. The only drawback is, when using the built-in navigation, it doesn't seem as effective at voice recognition of destinations as Google Maps itself.

You have to get the Premium version for in app Navigation. For nav the app uses Mapbox. Fortunately you get a 7-day trial to check out all features before paying. Don't bother with the free version, especially if you a are looking for an Android Auto alternative. I've been using Android Auto for years and just purchased a car that does not have it. Although the premium version works as advertised I find it a lackluster alternative. Mapbox has its weaknesses compared to Google Maps

Great app! Perfect, not yet but it is solid and works well. Tried some others for use on a 10" touchscreen android head unit in the RV - this one is the best. Had a small issue with install but developer was quick to respond and assist. I do have a couple requests but based on his engagement to reviews and assisting me, am sure it will be nothing but upward and better.

Just tried this out after looking for ages for a launcher for my android based car stereo that does exactly what i want. my main desires were being able to see my navigation and my now playing at the same time. this app does that perfect. Coolwalk display is the absolute BEST! 2 things i want addressed. - Navigation searching could be improved to better display addresses including suburb. - Weather widget could be better showing more info like forecast for next few hours and bigger clock.

I wish there were more than 2 map view options. I cannot see the road names in satellite view. I also wish the map layout could be the direction I was driving (I think some maps have "keep north up" option which is very useful. I really wanted this map to be all that others aren't but I don't think it's there yet or at least for me anyways.

I've downloaded several Car UI apps in the past and they all seem to have issues. When I demo them, they work great then the issues come up. All have issues with Spotify as the music app on the home screen. All have the same symptom... Unable to pause. (NOT always, just sometimes and I cannot figure out why) AutoZen is no exception. There are other things I wish for in AutoZen such as the ability to adjust font size when designing a custom screen. Changed rating to 5 due to exceptional support.
