Super-duper fantastic app! This masterpiece allowed me to automate a complex set of scheduled tasks that normally took hours away from my sleep. Not anymore! It's like having a virtual assistant - the difference is you need to tell it exactly what to do, test it and start it up and watch the magic happen :). One easiest improvement for the automate app Incan think of is to add ability to organize scripts in folders.

This app is very good for taking control of your device. It gives access to and exposes the capabillity of many of your device's features, and allows you to perform actions based on them. It features a block-based programming language that's easy to learn, especially if you have experience with Scratch, Snap!, or Blockly. The only thing I take issue with is that every permission you need to grant requires downloading a seperate app, but that likely helps with security.

App is improved over time but as automation flows become more and more complex, there really needs to be a feature that allows for multi-block moves. Moving large swaths of blocks one block at a time is a huge waste of time. Cut/paste is inadequate because it changes block IDs and also not the most efficient use of time either. I just want to drag-select (like selecting multiple files ona desktop) and directly move the blocks like I would on a PC. That's more efficient use of time

This app is amazing! It does exactly as described, only asks for permissions when absolutely necessary, and is very versatile for anything you would need to automate from your device. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the documentation for each block is a little lacking. It's accurate and useful, but doesn't provide much help if you would like additional help/resources for a specific block function.

A couple of the criteria that I use for this kind of apps (i.e., automating tasks) are: - when using location as Event, I want my phone to register only the Entrance and the Exit from that place, instead of constantly checking its position. Automate does that. - the battery consumption. Because of the above point is accomplished, the battery usage is minimal in Automate. Yesterday I had it run all day, entering and exiting the set location several times, and Automate doesn't even show up in the 'battery usage' list. As for the options available, there are plenty of them. I definitely recommend you trying Automate. Spend first a couple of minutes reading the Documentation, this will make it easier for you to understand how it works.

If for no other reason, then consider this app because ... I wanted a way to change the sound setting on my phone when at a specific location. Several apps promised this, but either failed outright or had undesired side effects. Finding this app, at first it seemed to be a lot of work for minimal usability. Then I found the Help wiki, and that broke the floodgates. There is so much you can actually do without needing root with the blocks available in this app! I've made so many useful flows!

There is somewhat of a long learning curve with the app but it's worth it. You can check out the community section to learn how to apply certain blocks, just download the flow and check it out on the edit screen. The latest update introduced a nice update of the UI. I am not a fan of the new notification icon in the status bar, a happy face. Hopefully the developer will return to the previous notification icon or provide the option to change it within the settings.

Of all the automation apps out there Automate is the only one which works as I script. Great price, easy to use interface (recently updated), useful help files, and plenty of example flows in the Community. I've been using it for a few years now and it's never let me down, I'd suggest it to anyone. I never leave work without a text to my wife, my car setup is exactly what I need, when I need it, and when significant issues arise at work I get meaningful notifications.

Love it. Automate seems like it's easy to learn, and hard to master. I've played around with it a lot; One of the first things I made was a button on my home screen that would just play a clip of Archer saying 'danger zone'. Another was something that would watch a folder for a new file and then move that file to a different folder, I also built my own Bluetooth toggle switch with an option to launch Google Play Music. All these, and I've barely scratched the surface. TLDR: get this app

Very intuitive design with the node-based system. Very powerful, quick to learn. Can do a lot with the free version. To be specific, I was looking for an app that would allow me to automatically change the backgrounds for my lock and home screen at set times, with this app I got that setup in less than ten minutes. All the other apps either couldn't do what I wanted, or were far too cumbersome to try and use for this simple feature.

Automate is an extremely flexible automation tool, but it takes a while to learn. If you can follow a flowchart, you should be able to use this app. I moved to Automate when my previous automation app wasn't updated for Android 10. The old tool had canned tasks, which often had some unneeded tasks & quirks. With Automate, I can add in exactly the steps I need. That's more work initially, but the result is a task that does only what I need. I did have to learn to insert some delays & conditions.

I've primarily used automate for a type of game interaction that's more complex than simple clicking exiting the app, changing a setting on my phone, returning to app, keep playing). It works pretty well and the flow chart structure is pretty intuitive. I have pro, not limited to 30 blocks. Immense power over the android UI. wish there was a field to name each block, or put a visible description on a chunk of your flow that does a specific thing. It would make organization a lot easier.

Got my hotspot to come on automatically when my bluetooth connects to my car's Android stereo. I expect to be able to get it to turn off hotspot as well but it's late so will work on that tomorrow. I also setup a quick gesture to turn on/off my flashlight without even having to unlock my phone . . . been wanting to do that for years. Also love that I was able to use the app, BEFORE paying for it, so I could see if it would work for me. Great UI and design. Keep up the good work.

It took days of trial and error and reading, plus frustration but I finally got the damned app to do what I needed. There's a humongous learning curve but I'm so satisfied with the outcome, it was so worth it. After completing the very first flow, I'm eager to create more. It's kinda fun. I want to see how far I take this one. Definitely a WINNER. I couldn't find any other apps in the Play store or APK to do what you just did for me. Thanks 👍

Edit: I just realized that this replaces Google Home Assistant functionality, so now I can't set reminders and timers and such. My house is in a dead zone for cellular signal. I always have to manually put my phone in airplane mode so it uses WiFi for phone and text. Then I always forget to take it off when I leave and miss calls. I've been looking for an app that can handle this for me for a very long time, and this one can actually do it! And with relative ease. Thank you!

I have used Automate for just basic stuff and it has worked great! I wanted something to help me do daily goals and Automate has made that so much easier. With goals in my Dialog boxes I can have them repeatedly pop up over anything on my phone until I actually think about what I put in them! (No easy cancel button or swipe away) I think there might be a 30-block limit for using it for free? However, for basic stuff like this, 30 blocks are plenty.

Good Android automation app with easy to use blocks you put together, no programming required. I was able to make a script that sends a web request to a smart outlet when the battery level gets to a certain %. Taking off 1 star because the app seemingly gets updated every other day and it stops my script from running during every update. Please bundle all the small updates into a couple bigger updates! Edit: Developer responded with a good plan, back to 5 stars!

Since moving away from Samsung and getting a pixel I was looking for a lightweight replacement for rule automations. The other competitors needed way too much resources and battery drain to do simple things. This was the perfect balance for me to do this simple task of changing the screen timeout when I'm connected to my car's Bluetooth.

If I understood a fraction of what this app is capable of, I would be an automating mastermind. But I'm kind of a doofus and have really bad ADHD. This app makes it easy though. Creating flows effortlessly using the available prompts and options. The sequence is intuitive, and still as complex as you want to get. It's a powerful program that I recommend. I recommend the full version too. There is just so much you can do.

I love this app & have been using it for a number of years now across multiple phones. It's a bit difficult to learn how to do some things, and it takes me a lot of trial & error to get programs working how I want them to, but if you have any node based workflow and coding experience, it's not too difficult to learn. I have flows that turn on a 30 minute sleep timer when I play Spotify or YouTube (when I'm home & my phone is charging), another that makes my phone scream if I throw it, etc.
