Absolute banger of an app you can skip ads if you home screen and enter but you might lose your spot in the story remember to bookmark often and it's various voices are perfect for keeping long stories interesting or keeping focused on what you're doing and having it read . Seriously use it so far the only problem I've had is that some characters are broken in some formats but more so how those files came I try not to stray from HTML. fabulous.

For about a month now there's a problem in which the reader controls for playing text simply freeze. I can skip sentences but I can't actually play anything and I usually have to stop the app completely and restart it for it to start working again but even that doesn't always work. Very annoying and I hope it gets resolved.

I updated and it killed my library and kept crashing. My mistake was not backing up before uninstalled. I thought it would ask if I wanted to clear all files or keep my library. I had to get a downgraded apk. It also changed all the libraries progress to index. Also no longer updates progress of chapters not sure how to fix the progress tracking. Also can't verify cloudflare anymore.

This app is really great. It's the best article reader I've ever used, much better than Pocket's built-in reading feature, especially when reading long articles. I just wish there is an option to pay and remove the ads. Update after 4 years: I tried a few other options over the years, like Instapaper, Natural Reader, Speechify etc. This app is still by far the best. It even has Android Auto support, which is missing from any other app!

Removing a star since my favorite voice suddenly disappeared with the forced update. Setup took a while, choosing a voice that sounded nice but the app is overall pretty good. Doesn't drain battery either. I wish the controls would let you skip forward or back in medium chunks. Currently they offer ones that seem either too small or too big. I went ahead and got the ad free upgrade just to show some support. So far so good! Haven't seen any shady moneygrabs like i did with prestigio! Cheers!

Been using this app for years. It reads ebooks, articles, PDFs, webpages, it amazing. Usually automatically. Sometimes you have to tell it what you want to be included in the text that's being read to you, like pictures, etcetera. And that's a great option to have in a reader app. You can customize it to your liking. It's a huge time saver. Definitely worth getting.

Best text to speech app I've found. Free means free...no unlock or upgrade for a fee BS. No overwhelming ads. Crashes sometimes "because of battery saver" even though battery saver is off and the phone is plugged in or at 100% but other than that no complaints. You can change the voices and speed. 90% of the books I download from oceanofpdf work great.

Is anyone else having an issue where the TTS just randomly pauses for a second or two and then skips a sentence? It seems to happen most frequently to short sentences. It only started doing this recently, I didn't have this problem a few months ago. I'm using an offline voice. Otherwise the app is great. If the issue can be resolved I'll change the rating to 5 stars, because this app was one of my favorites.

This app has been fantastic for helping me proofread. Listening to what I write as I read it helps me find problems better. Oddly, the last few days it has started freezing up after reading an article. I end up having to uninstall and reinstall to get it to read again, and then I have to reset all my settings. Even with that inconvenience, it's still awesome.

I've been using this app for years now and it has significantly helped me, since I experience inflammation and pain in my hands, listening to my textbooks repeatedly has helped me pass so many of my classes. But, I'm having an unusual problem with the app right now and have been unable to figure out the cause of it. For some reason, regardless of changing the font size/ type in the original word document, when in the app, I have all these gaps in mid sentence, which is distracting to listen to

I really like this app... when it works. the tts will randomly stop playing, the first time I downloaded the app it wouldn't play but i decided to try again the next day and it worked. I've only had for a few days but so far it's done this 3 times. I've tried closing and re-opening the app, changing different settings that could have been affecting it and...nothing. I just have to wait whatever amount of time for it to start working again and honestly it's very annoying.

Undoubtedly the best text-to-speech app I have ever used. Edit: After the newest update, some of my regex expressions don't seem to be working. I've troubleshoot as much as I could, and they're matching the text, but they simply aren't being replaced. All the ones that had trouble have had a : in them, and seperating out those parts fixed it, but it was annoying when they were fine before.

It might just be me, as I'm very forgetful, but it seems to have a mind of its own at times, making changes in how it works without me changing the settings. Maybe I'm doing it accidentally but I'm not aware of doing it. For example at first it offered the choice when opening a file to use Voice Aloud or to read it normally. Then it changed and didn't give me a choice, started reading automatically. I finally found the choice setting to stop that.

This was my previous 5 start review: "I like it very much. I've learned so much more about different subjects and since English is my second language my reading and comprehension skills have become better as I read along. I would like it to pronounce certain words better like abbreviations but it's not that big deal". I have the paid version and I'm getting advertising which is the exact reason why I paid. SOUND BREAKS UP MORE THAN ONCE PER SECOND. I have used this app more than five (5) years. 2 months ths ago, it started inserting slient breaks that run between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds, with never than more two seconds between the interruptions. None text is lost, it is just broken into pieces. About one month ago, I got a new phone. The sound breakup is the same as on the older phone. Both phones are Samsung Galaxy A3. Both phones play perfect sound on the most immensely complicated music recorded.

The app does a good job of voice to text. I like the quality of the voice. The menu structure is difficult to navigate, making play lists and moving from chapter to chapter is weak. My big irritation is after any update from OnePlus the application loses the ability to operate in background No other program Kindle or audio reader has any problem. Only this one. You must remove the background permissions and then add them again.

Being a visually impaired person that can't see color and magic how much better it would be. I like the fact that it bookmarks with a short description of what the bookmark is and you can design a different color to it for those that are low vision or high partials, it really helps you. Identify. Your bookmarks.
