App is now a must for me, it used to have a few features only, but they've slowly added way more functions (almost as much as connecting directly to your modem through the browser). The new design looks gorgeous, but i've noticed your "network diagnosis" feature isn't working well on Android. It's showing that the modem has problems, when it doesn't have any. iOS version passes the check with no problems.

It is a handy app for your ASUS router. If I experience a slow down on the network this app allows quick access to determine if the router is the issue. Usually very easy to upgrade firmware from the app as well. However, ASUS needs to fix the issues with their firmware servers. There are a lot of features with this app like parental controls and bandwidth limiting, but I have not tried them because there are no children in the house. Overall this is a good, useful app.

App is ok for basic management, I was not able to set up the wireless routers using the app, no matter what I did it was just not working, so I did the set up the mesh using the web interface. The app does not connect to my router remotely, I had to do IP passthrough on my ISP gateway to make it work. Now it work perfectly from anywhere in the world. I'm able to manage traffic on each device just fine.

It's a decent app with quite a bit of info. One thing I wish it had was able to show total WAN statistics for past day/week/month. The 2nd bigger issue for me is that it shows your wifi password within the app and no way to hide it (that I could find at least). It's not visible in the settings menu, but from Home, Internet Status, swipe the Real-time traffic until you get to Network Name, click on it, and that's where your full password shows in normal text. For now, the only choice is to lock the app with a strong password in case you lose your phone or tablet, but that seems like a big oversight that the password is fully visible there.

Works, but is fairly useless. Can: reboot the router. Cannot: adjust QoS settings, change port forwarding settings, turn off TrendNet for troubleshooting weird CPU usage on the router, open a terminal session on the router, assign a particular IP address to a particular client.... This app cannot do far more than it can, and any serious remote administration is not an option. The only detailed settings that seem to be available are for WiFi.

Potentially decent app for simple monitoring tasks. Main negative is the built-in "network diagnostic" tells me the modem may be offline or not connected - while everything is actually working fine and the "traffic statistics" shows my data passing through the network with no issues. If it can't accurately show me when all is okay, it becomes useless for troubleshooting if there's ever problems later.

Don't know what happened, but it no longer connects to my router, I can no longer use standard features in the app. I'll give an example; A super duper special feature called settings doesn't even display or function properly. But that's ok, because the main page still has animations.... Edit: months later nothing has changed. Asus has given up on the app.

Worked for years, now terrible. My router is configured to deny remote access for security reasons, so can't use the "connected router" feature. But now I can no longer connect to my router when already on one of that router's WIFI networks. Seems to be no way to connect to a local router that's not still at factory default, not even by supplying an IP address.

Incredibly terrible interface: 1) The "modal" (stays on top) dialog is often partially below the keyboard app so you can't easily click "ok" 2) I had two Asus routers. It is compatible with one. Great. I tried the second one and it NEVER LET ME OUT of trying to connect, telling me that it was not compatible, and then popping up the connection dialog again...an endless loop that was NOT solved by shutting down the app. Uninstalling was the only way to get back to avoiding this. Once uninstalling, then reinstalling, the app had some nice things, but the glitches made me pretty leery of using the app. Some UI training at Asus is needed <grin>. I generally like Asus HARDWARE, but software is not their strong suite.

Poor performance. I have an RT-AC88U and the app for both Android and iOS have always been laggy. Recently the Android app frequently times out during the discovery process. When it does connect to the router applying parental guidance settings is slow or fails. This is an expensive router with dual core processor. It has the latest firmware, the app is up to date. Update, restarted phone app now working better, they should improve reliability.

App works great for me for the most part. Only issues are 1. It shows wired connection for some wireless connections, and shows connected and then disconnected devices that don't exist. They share names with existing devices, but Mac addresses that don't exist. They are not strangers connecting to my router, as I have no neighbors and live in the middle of the woods. 2. Custom icons don't save. How annoying to dl and apply 30+ icons to have them wiped out when reopening the app. Please fix.

A lot need to be worked on. Doesn't seem to remember devices that was previously on network. What's the most important part for a router app is to manage devices, and it failed. And monitoring unknown devices is the main concern. It doesn't always remember devices and most importantly, it doesn't alert you when a new device or an unknown device got on. Without alerts, it's quite useless. It doesn't monitor nor prevent anything. By the time you noticed anything it's too latex they're gone.

I like that I can view all devices connected to my router and restrict access or meter bandwidth to individual devices. My requests would be for better organization and customization of the device lists. I want to be able to delete previous devices from the list that haven't connected in a while and also to sort the list alphabetically or by most recent connection or something!

Updating a now 4 year old review for 2021: Still just 1 pathetic star. Nice it can do a few things remotely, but it routinely fails to do things correctly. The device bandwidth monitoring is a total waste of space as it doesn't give you ANY view to a "Top" list for bandwidth usage. You have to scroll through ALL your devices and look at each device's usage to figure out which one is suddenly hammering your bandwidth. The device list also fails to update for weeks at a time, showing devices LONG disconnected as still being on the network and totally failing to show all connected devices. ASUS should be embarrassed at how bad this app has been for so long.

Great app, very useful for managing a small business and quickly looking up IP addresses for remote desktop, etc. One thing I would like improved is the ability to back up your routers or add them remotely. I have a bunch of small businesses running asus routers and whenever I upgrade my phone I have to go to each one to reconnect my new phone.

The app isn't perfect, but I see improvements over the years. I see that Asus is working to add features and improvement the usability. So thank you for that! Couple things I would like to point out. The app used to identify the devices better and it made managing them easier, but now the device names are less accurate. As for parental control, there was a big improvement over time. However, it could still be a lot better. I suggest looking into how Windows 10 manages it.

I absolutely love this. I could type a long review explaining how, but simply put, with Asus you can't really go wrong here. Perfect companion to their routers. (update 8 years later, I'm still happy with this. The app has been improved over time, and gives more than enough functionality without having to go to the web UI. Using an RT-AC3200.)

Hot Garbage I didn't think that this app could get worse than it already was, but here we are. My level of knowledge would be considered an expert level in this field. The app is wildly inaccurate and does not reflect the actual network connections on the network. The limited amount of information available vs. the web ui makes it borderline useless. They took the lazy route with a one size fits all approach, and it is hot garbage.

UPDATE: Samsung S24 Ultra. App not connecting. Shows "Discovering" and WAN Type "Loading". None of 4 nodes are showing on app. Everything showing fine on PC. Update: There was a security setting on the guest network that seemingly caused this. I have 5 guest networks for security cams & misc devices. All but one was set to WPA2/WPA3. Once they were all the same WPA setting, the app began working properly.

Prior to the recent update I felt it was mediocre. But after the update it's truly remarkable. Access to the web GUI allows the user to remotely change settings and the new design and function is outstanding.. I have an AI Mesh setup using the AX router and an Ac68p as the node and it's great to be able to control them and remotely update firmware along with everything else
