Arcaea is a mobile rhythm game for both experienced and new rhythm game players alike, blending novel gameplay, immersive sound, and a powerful story of wonder and heartache. Experience gameplay that reflects the story’s emotions and events—and progress to unlock more of this unfurling narrative.
Challenging trials can be discovered through play, higher difficulties can be unlocked, and a real-time online mode is available to face off against other players.
Arcaea does not require an internet connection for play, and is fully playable both on smartphones and tablets. On install the game includes a large library of free playable songs, and more can be made available by acquiring additional songs and content packs.

==Story==
Two girls find themselves in a colorless world full of memory, and with no memory of themselves. Each alone, they set out into places often beautiful, and just as often dangerous.
Arcaea’s story is interwoven throughout Main, Side, and Short stories which each focus on individual, playable characters. While separate, they all share the same space: the world of Arcaea. Their reactions to it, and its reactions to them, form an ever-shifting narrative of mystery, sorrow, and bliss. As they explore this heavenly place, follow their steps down paths of glass and grief.

Pretty fun & challenging. I only got about a few tracks in - still at early difficulty to try to learn the game and train my brain to deal with the way it plays - before being asked to rate, and the difficulty curve really does seem to see noticeable increases across the first few levels. Could use more early difficulty 1 tracks, to help ease the player into the game a little more gently, but there are enough that it isn't like you feel thrown in the deep-end of the pool after toeing the water.

Unlike a lot of other rhythm games on mobile, I feel much more in control, mistakes are always reasonable. There is no dying, so you don't have to worry about your favorite song getting interrupted. The songs are mostly instrumental and those that aren't are almost always in Japanese. Downloading is free, the game gives you plenty of content to decide to buy the other 3/4s of the songs. However the price is pretty high, probably around. 0.33 per song on average.

The interface, while still not perfect, has been improved a lot over the years. There are still features missing that this game sorely needs, most important of which is an actual practice/training mode that gives you the ability to choose a section of a song to practice and the ability to play it slowed down. When the best way to actually get better after a certain point is to watch gameplay from the top players to figure out certain patterns, I think that's a problem.

Honestly a great game. One of my favorite mobile rythym games ever. The air notes are hard to get used to when they're halfway in the air, and its harder to play when you use thumbs instead of index fingers, a phone instead of a tablet, and hold up that phone with your hands instead of setting it on a stand. You can still manage with flying colors if you're good enough. Its really fun, and well executed. Also, the game is updated A LOT: new features, expansion of old ones, and more songs.

It's a fun game and providers a pretty good challenge with more advanced mechanics at higher levels. You need to tap notes at the bottom of the screen as it lines up with the horizontal line. Tapping the correct lane as the notes line up don't count as a successful tap. I'm not a fan of the line system since it doesn't feel satisfying to me. Despite this, I still had fun overall and would recommend to anyone to try. Thought I wouldn't like the songs since but I found some I enjoyed.

Arcaea was one of the first rhythm games I ever played. The gameplay is innovative, and the songs are great! When you first download the game, you get a bunch of free songs that tide you over for a while until you become skilled. This segues into why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. My number one issue of the game actually lies in one of the core mechanics, World mode. In all my rhythm game experience, it is THE WORST song unlock method I've ever encountered. Otherwise, 11/10 highly recommend!

Ok dont get me wrong, I LOVE this game so much, but why is it that when I uninstall the game, I have to rebuy all of the levels I had (using fragments) even though I already had them. I understand your current fragments being reset, but not your levels. Plz Change. (Correction, you are able to hit the sync button when completing a level and are able to download your songs back. Ehy not give this option from the start?) Great game otherwise, totally recommend.

Easily the best mobile game I've ever played. For those of you who look for the same things as me in an app, the content is very well polished, and much of it is free. I've easily put hundreds of hours into the free parts of this game. The gameplay is that of a rhythm game, involving tapping and sliding your fingers across the screen. The music is (for the most part) quite good. I've actually found some songs that I've put on Spotify playlists through this game. I can't recommend it enough.

If you like music games, you're gonna love this game. It closely resembles SDVX but it has its own twist to it. The music it has its great and fun to play along to. There leveling system is perfect to help you get the hang out of the controls while keeping you challenged throughout it. There was definitely a ton of effort put into this game.

Yes there's paywalls, but there's plenty of free unlockable content as well. The game has a insanely high skill ceiling. An absolutely awesome soundtrack to play to. Support for bluetooth audio. Reasonably well optimized. Honestly, if you're even remotely into rhythm games, go for it. It is simply too complete to not at least give it a try. Absolutely one of the highest quality mobile games out here right now in terms of execution. 10/10

The first rhythm game I've ever played for more than 15 minutes, and it's so fun!! the songs are great, the art is beautiful, menus are easy to navigate, and it's not nearly as difficult to play as Voez or even Piano Tiles. I would love to see more metal songs like Purgatorium, but besides that, the songs are fun to play, and the game is difficult enough to where practice is needed, at least for me. I love Arcaea so much!!!

Basically the best mobile rhythm game I have ever played. The game is incredibly well designed, all of the levels are unique and well made. The story is really interesting and extremely well written. All of the partners and art is very well made. It gets extremely challenging at higher levels and has an extremely high skill ceiling (and it will get harder as more levels are added). Overall incredible game. I'd say the price is ok, pretty expensive over time, like over $200 for all of the songs.

When I first started playing, the graphics made it so enjoyable to play. They were simple and clean yet unique. The 4 lane style makes reading notes comfortable, and sky notes and arcs make it unique. I started playing for free, but as the months passed, I felt it was time I gave some support to a game I played regularly. Song packs are reasonable in price and have many good songs in them. Now that I've been playing for a while, the high difficulty ceiling means I can always improve something.

Single best rhythm game I've ever played on mobile. Cannot give it enough praise for originality and accessibility. Playing in a "3D Space" makes it hard to go back to the basic flat 4 or 5 buttons games. I've been playing for over a year now. Almost 50 free songs with more free songs released almost monthly. Each DLC song pack costs $3 - $5 USD with single songs at $1 as well. Really worth spending a little $ for all the replayability you get. Well worth the free download to check it out.

its okay and somewhat gimmicky, I did enjoy the concept behind the whole 3d/2d arc but the notes need to be more clear and easier to see. Certain arc notes overlap with bottom notes making it really annoying to look at. Sure you could just get better by playing more but it feels more intrusive than it needed to be and could be done better in my opinion. Songs are okay but I didnt put enough time to unlock many songs so I cant really say much about it.

Song choice is great, mechanics are amazing and new, but it feels like there's too much stuff locked behind the paywall. It would be nice if at least the main story was free, even if side stories were still locked. That being said, the ability to easily delete my account (account required to use character skills) is absolutely wonderful and that alone brought this review from a 4* to a 5*! A wonderful business practice that I wish more people adopted.

High quality and fun rhythm game, probably the best on mobile. Mostly well charted. The progression system is very slow, but I can live with it. The problem is that the full game is too expensive. It often come out to 150+ dollars to get every song, and most of the game isn't actually free. It can be paid slowly to soften the blow, but it's still a lot of money. It might be unintentional and some paid songs might've been added in post, but it's still a big commitment for a mobile game.

Locks all story content behind paywalls, but still offers enough free content at medium to low difficulties to give a thorough try to determine whether buying in will be worthwhile to you, or if the skill ceiling is too high to make buying in worth it to you with your skill level. The free bits I've tried so far make me think that with a sufficient discount on DLC, it could be a worthy contender to list in my top 3 or top 4 music games on Android.

It's a good game. It may have a lot of things locked behind a pay wall. But as of now, as a F2P player, it has enough content to keep me occupied. And if you're willing to stick with the game as a F2P player, you might be able to get some more songs for free, like world extend and new years gifts. And the gameplay is really fun, and is a must try for anyone. Only problems for me is world mode, like it's super grindy, and story is locked behind $30 (no deals) and possibly more.

If you play this on phone be ready for pain. Thumb play is possible with most songs. If you want more fingers youre going to have to find some way to stop your phone from moving from various angles. Some way to slide fingers around the screen without building up friction on the surface, have a screen that isnt cracked, and an OS that doesnt lag. If you have all that you'll be fine. Amazing game though, I found my brain and my fingers doing some things I didnt even think possible. Git Good/10
