Block the app settings only NOT phone settings entirely it's an essential feat. It is great, it knows all the possibilities you can get around it with and gives you the ability to block them it is optionaly strict truly saving one's life. The only key feature missing that made me give it that low rating is in strict mode the it gives you the option to block settings so you don't disable the app, it sucks because using timer mode, literaly cannot do anything in you settings until the time is up

Edit: Got it to work by shrinking the size of my display text down. The AppBlock set up text box doesn't scroll to the bottom when your display text is enlarged. Happy to send screen shot of before and after. Previously: It Does NOT WORK on Android Google Pixel 6. Won't start up, won't prompt permissions, stays stuck on 1 page of text. I desperately want to use this app!! I have installed, uninstalled, granted all permissions, withdrawn all permissions, restarted the phone, switched accounts.

App block was great and worked for a while up until I found out a way around it...without looking for it I stumble onto the ability to open the apps in a pop-up view which bypasses all of App block. If you open up your apps in "pop-up" view and click the three lines or "recent apps" when you get the notice that the app is blocked, you can have the apps open in the pop-up window. This is on the Android UI.

I use a music streaming app that is Notorious for starting on its own and often at the worst possible time! I've tried everything to block it and researched for fixes, then considered just uninstalling and just losing years of great playlists I created. Then I found AppBlock and I am extremely grateful for how well it works!!! I am sharing this app on all the forums where others have complained about the aggravating behavior of that music streaming app that shant be named but starts with a P!

After comparing other apps, AppBlock has had the most success in fluid interaction! Some blockers lagged and stopped working over time, while this App Blocker stood the test! I have been using it for 4-5 months now and am upgrading to Premium because I find this is the best app out there! Highly recommend it if you're having problems with addictions!

It's a great app for what it does. The free version is usually more than enough to block stuff. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that if you turn on a password, you can't open the app without said password. If you forget it, you're out of luck and your best bet is to uninstall and try again. I would rework it so removing or changing items on the block list would require the password, but adding things wouldn't.

This app is absolutely awesome and very effective!! I didn't realize how much of an issue I had until I had to block "App Block" itself so I wouldn't go and change the time so I could go on social media! Sometimes when you get bored all u turn to is ur phone. Or when u can't sleep. This definitely gets you outside, gets yoy better sleep, etc. Very effective. 10/10 would most definitely recommend.

Incredible app, has had a huge impact on my feeling of control over my time - super grateful! Well worth premium sub. No bugs. Easy setup. Bumped up to 5 stars cuz they fixed the UI imperfection that bothered me earlier, and added a game changing feature I've wanted for years: you can snooze profiles for a custom period of time, which means I can set all time-wasting apps to blocked, then snooze that profile for the period of time I want to use them, and it will automatically cut me off after.

This is definitely the best app blocker I could find. It blocks websites and apps pretty easily. The free version lets you block up to 4 apps which is enough for me. Definitely the best free edition of any app and the sales for premium are pretty good if you need more. I love strict mode on Appblock. It lets you basically make it impossible to go around it. The problem with other apps is that you can just turn it off and it doesn't matter. 10/10

I really like how AppBlock provides some of the help you need in order to stay away from screentime. It can help you focus more on other things like studying rather than being on your phone all day. There are a lot of features in this app that can help you restrain yourself from spending too much time on your device, which include: Strict mode, schedules, and quick block. Overall, this app has just made it a lot easier to do homework, spend family time, and focus on other things over scrolling.

The features on this app, even without premium, are pretty great. It functions well and as long as you aren't actively trying to find ways around it, you likely won't. It lets you block apps in numerous ways, not just blocking for a certain amount of time but also based on things like location. I can see the free version as limiting for people who struggle with constant use of many apps, so the premium version seems like a worthy investment. Otherwise, the free version is great on its own.

This app is amazing. It works great. I wish they would make the controls for pausing and locking easier to reach without so much clicking. I tend to pause a block a lot sometimes but also like to lock it down for short or longer periods. It would be great if those controls were easier to access.

I was doing something wrong, so edited it back up to 5 stars. Edited: For my uses this is only useful if you have premium. If you have premium you can use a timed strictness option that will lock you out of all unblocking for a set amount it time and you CANNOT turn it off once you turn it on. Using this with the free optional pin upon opening AppBlock, is an awesome deterrent and game changer. No more random thought Googling when you're trying to sleep, a big hassle to open apps at work etc.

I got this due to annoying ads (APPS and WEBSITES) popping up on my phone. Unfortunately it actually does very little to help with this problem, as the unwanted app still opens with a message to quit trying to open it and be productive, overriding any other app or window that is open, stopping processes and closing windows . Also the ads to upgrade: why would I pay to upgrade when the basic version does not do anything to help? Sadly, it was reviewed well, but did not do anything for me.

Few things irritate me more than signing up for a free trial and then having the app glitch out SPECIFICALLY when you try to cancel the free trial. I can't help but feel like a prisoner now and that this is built in. How convenient that you now have my credit card info and automatic payments but I can't turn it off because your app won't let me access my subscription information. Shame on you. I'll cancel through my CC if I have to.

Please give a one time buy option for premium! I refuse to buy subscriptions so I'm working within the limitations, but if the app was a one time purchase I would buy. I feel like a lot of people feel the same. $30 per year is a lot but I would pay that as a one time fee. Maybe have a cheaper monthly plan with low commitment and then a one time buy option.

It is kind of mean to ask people what they think of the app as a pop up immediately after trying to open the app they can't. :-( It is doing as it says. Effective. I'd definitely recommend it because you can completely block yourself from apps that you can't just go undo. Had to add more apps to it today because I developed a sudden interest in reddit now that I can't use FB, tiktok and insta.

This has been a great help towards me using my phone less. Being able to block certian websites and apps, that had previously distracted me from completing my work, has helped me tremendously. I also appreciate the strict mode they implemented, as it makes it easier people who struggle with self-discipline to stick with their goals. Overall this is a great app, especially because it's all for free.

I used to love this app, however, I have figured out most of the workarounds that others have listed on my own. I say used too because I felt like it wasn't as effective as before. I've noticed that it doesn't always recognize when I am in a blocked app. Mostly I've noticed this with YouTube while watching shorts. My 5 minutes left popup will appear and 30 minutes later I am still staring at shorts. When I pull down my notifications, I see the timer ongoing notification is paused.

This app seems good. I was setting it up like 10 mins ago. It has nice features, like being able to add keywords when you're in strict mode. Other apps did not do this, I am surprised and pleased with this feature. It does not make it tedious to add keywords. The variety of freedom it has for the unpaid version is surprising. One problem I have is that when blocking websites and keywords, it should state that the 5 applications are used for both. Overall, this app is great but has some issues.
