The way to install and download apps has evolved over time. A short while ago, installing an app using an external APK involved simply clicking on it and letting the package installer included by default in your Android do all the work. This was true until the arrival of other standards that added complexity to the process.
.OBB data (a file that includes extra multimedia files within the app such as video or audio) turned out to be the way to exceed the maximum size allowed by Google for uploading APKs to its platform. That change complicated things when manually installing apps by having to install these additional files separately in specific folders on the device. Therefore, the most convenient solution was to insert the APK and OBB data into the same file and have it installed by an external tool. Thus, the XAPK standard was born.
Later on, Google started using a dynamic distribution system, the so-called Android App Bundle. When a developer publishes an app on Google Play, it is 'disassembled' into several pieces called split-APKs. From then on, many apps consisted of a base APK and several others that included information related to the language of the app, the supported screen dimensions, and the required CPU architecture. Therefore, when a user downloads the app in question, they only install the 'pieces' that are necessary for the app to work correctly on their device, saving bandwidth and costs for both parties, the user and the distribution platform itself.
Apk Installer’s main objective is to make it possible for you to continue installing Android apps manually without having to do extensive research on file formats and destination folders. When making backups, the app packages all these files (APK + split-APKs + OBB if any) into a single XAPK file. Therefore, when you install private copies of your apps you only have to find one file and install it without having to worry about formats and standards.

This is a terrible app to have on your phone. It didn't give any apk's whatsoever, i was looking for a shadow fight 3 mod but said no apps found, then tried it with other apps the same happened

Alarmed this is a scam 'download' as received an unannounced potential scam phonecall from Africa following download. Also, permissions request access to all files on storage device & be able to delete without notification. APK was recommended by Samsung UK support to enable 'Samsung Radio for Android' to be downloaded to my phone as not a default app on Samsung A54 phone.

I was really excited that I can backup xpak files and install them... But in my poco F1 reddit, musicolet and some other apps are backed up but couldn't be installed... But I am atleast satisfied that an app is trying to achieve this xpak backups and installations... Please develop this app more as this is really good attempt and these apps are rare in Play Store

Worked for the app I was trying to install from the play store (even though it said it was unsupported for a Google pixel 8 pro device). Only 10mb too which is great for storage conscientious users.

Its a kind of useless application which doesn't work at all. The apk which are given in app are completely false and when you share a feedback to the developer they be in an attacking mode. Which shows rather then improving they are better at wordlife. 🤫🤫🤫

I was currently trying to downgrade youtube to a year old version but it keeps saying "invalid apk" even though it was working on my old phone a few weeks ago but now that I have a new samsung a13 it's not working I've tried allowing Chrome and my files to allow install unknown apps but it didn't work either

I want an apk extractor & installer for 64 bit apps & games for many days. Because those games & apps have split apks (2apks inside). Ordinery apk manager/extractor can't handle these types of apps & games which have bundled apks. So, at last I find this app very useful. Many many thanks to the developers.

I thought a 1 was to rude so I gave it a 2, I can't even get old version of games. it LOADED for EVER! I don't remember the last time I got this but the fist time I did get it it was FINE but now it's trash. I don't recommend this if your not patient.

It saw the only APK I wanted to install and after choosing it, the window just kept scrolling for many many minutes. I gave up the waiting and closed it. I tried one more time and saw a message saying it was canceled/ aborted. I didn't touch anything it just stopped on its own

I successfully downloaded the app i wanted with which my device wasn't compatible..If you're having this kind of problem in your device too so without any worries just press on install button. Hopefully it's working on every device. And the steps are here - Go on Google and type "uptodown (and the app name you want to download)" Press on the link, Press download button..it will take 5-6 minutes

Very good app,it gets the job done especially xapks. I will give five stars if you reduce the installation time as this is one of the slowest installers I have tested. Still fast,but can be faster relative to others.

Simply doesn't work. Click on an xapk file to install and the app just goes back to the main screen without installing it. No error message provided. No use for installing xapk files.

Does the work! I had to install an apk file and tried some applications before installing this one and it was the only one which actually worked while some of the others were not able to even locate the file ofcourse after granting required permissions. Thumbs up to developers. Go ahead and download this one.

Does what it says. I got this app to help me install an .xapk package onto my Pixel, it worked perfectly. The app seems to locate and install .apk and .xapk files with no issues. And I didn't see a single ad in the app. Thanks for this tool.

I used to be able to install xapk files using this and I even used it not so long ago. Recently, I was unable to install an xapk file as it kept showing me "installation cancelled" error when I didn't cancel the installing. I even went as far as granting every permissions for this application and it still didn't install my file.

Pathetic app. Don't be fooled. You don't need this app at all. It cannot even perform a single simple task which it is designed to do i.e. install xapk's from uptodown website. Instead of using this worthless app, you can just extract the files, as xapk is just a compressed file, and install it manually just like we do for every other app which is downloaded from the web.

Edit: wow! The app had improved alot since the last time I installed it. Backup is highly compressed, Amazing Yet needs some improvements.. 1.It should back split apps in ".apks" formats instead of "xapk" because ".apks" is not supported by LP😜. 2.It should ask how it should name backup file of an app, like com.appName.xyz or just AppName. 4. App should write app version in backup name. 5. It must be able to Sign unsigned apps before installation.

When first opening the Install Apps screen, you get a notification saying you can use multi-select, but multi-select precisely works everywhere except in the Install Apps screen. Not amused, and unfortunately this renders the app practically useless for me.

2021-11-30 What you see is what you get. I was able to roll back an update on Here WeGo app to before the horrible recent release. Went from latest version/release to the older one without any issues whatsoever. I don't recommend this to a tech illiterate person but if you have understanding of at least what an apk is and why you might want a particular one ratger than one available in Google Play, you should have no issues.
