I loved the app at first, but it's losing points fast. As I work up part of my tree, it glitches more and more frequently, knocking me back down to the very bottom of the tree. I cleared cache and everything I could think of, deleted and reinstalled app, and it's glitching even faster now. Edit - I tried to send an email twice to the address you gave. Both times I got a message saying it was undeliverable.

Love the app. Have over 80K people in my tree (branch vs tree). Works really well in conjunction with app on laptop, as some features work on one and not the other, and vice versa. Free user, primarily. Only time I ever have problems is after an update, which luckily are infrequent. Right now, writing review, because cannot do ANYTHING on the mobile app. It just "buffers" (not the right word, but it just doesn't load anywhere for anything), even after both a normal restart AND complete shutdown

Glitchy tree. When building family tree the app will frequently fail to save my work, with recently added profiles and relationships completely disappearing, or occasionally overlaying the "add father" or "add mother" or "potential father/mother" boxes on top of one another or on top of a newly created profile. Sometimes entire mid-sections of my family tree will appear blank with three ends floating unconnected. Very very frustrating.

5/4 Update completely tanked app function and trees are unable to load. some of the profiles for people in your trees are glitchy and selecting them will cause the app to crash. This is still not fixed and now certain profiles just receive an error message on the app when you attempt to view them. Support is practically nonresponsive. For a service that you have to pay to use, this is appalling.

Stopped working. It opens & then the little circle just spins. It was always SUPER glitchy but now nothing. I waited until the newest update hoping that it would be corrected but no. I am going to assume that the integration of ai caused an update and now the app works as well as ai does. Not really sure who ancestry thinks is using their services because I've mostly met 50+ year olds without the newest technology and so far no interest in ai. What we'd actually like is an app that works.

Ancestry itself is awesome and I use daily, but the app is terrible and constantly has issues. I will close the app, then come back and my entire tree just disappears for no reason. I once added a picture to the wrong person and still can't remove that picture for whatever reason. Another annoying thing is if someone else adds a picture for someone in your tree, then you add that photo as a profile picture for that person, you can't "resize profile picture" to their face. What gives??

I used to LOVE this app. It worked perfectly and all the special upgrades it had were all together in the subscription. As of recently, the app won't even load pictures. I bought the subscription and also realized that all the stuff that were previously together are NOT together and you have to buy literally everything separately. It sort of makes me regret my decision. Maybe change this, it'll make you more money.

The concept is fantastic, but execution is flawed. App constantly has issues. Can't load stories, 90% of my tree disappears when adding members, they come back, but I have to restart my app in order for them to return. They only charge like $5 to have all the info through the app only and 4x that if you want it on PC. I see why they let the app remain trash so they can try and force you into buying the higher tiered plan.

The app is not as easy to navigate as I thought it would be. Also confusing on adding removing editing relatives. When I go to view documents , and try t to enlarge it. There's lots of blocked out sections, until I shrink it back down and then comes together. and then when I open it back up again it does the same thing so it makes it hard to read documents it doesn't seem to be real user-friendly

I have always loved Anscesty and have used to since 2019. However, there's been a recent glitch with the photos feature that is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! Whenever I try to resize the photos, it glitches and instead choosing the face it chooses the background?! Please fix this glitch as I love Anscesty and this is very frustrating...

The app is overall helpful as an additional way to access my tree. Things are still smoother on the computer but for quick adding and editing it is perfect. My only current complaints are that the DNA features never seem to work for me on the app, and occasionally my photos won't upload. I get around that by converting to photos to alternate file types but it is a hassle. Not sure if other people are having these problems.

I enjoy Ancestry in general. However, the app is awful. None of the pictures load. If you open a census or other files, the whole image goes black when you zoom in. It can also be difficult to cross check potential parents of ancestors, as it shows their children, but you can't click on their children to see if the grandchildren match.

This is a great app very helpful indeed. My reasoning for removing a star is because there is a constant issue with my pictures disappearing then later re appearing in my tree, it's all the time it's buggy. I know they are constantly updating there app ( which is great ). However looking up hints that have pictures during these buggy issues can't be seen either it's a bit frustrating. I constantly have to clear my ancestry app cache to get it to work long enough to do some work and research.

This app has gone downhill bad in recent months! It was at first adding multiple instances of marriages no matter what hint I added to my person, it would just create a new marriage fact due each census or birth record. Now it won't load the entire image when viewing a census. I zoom in to read the writing & a big black section shows up. I zoom out & the image reappears but I can't read the writing. Stop breaking the app!!! I pay for this service, I want it to work properly!

Photos show as a placeholder instead of a real photo image since the last update. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's frustrating that when the app updates, there are different bugs in the App. Updates should be screened better before changing the app. Edits are challenging as the cursor jumps from field one is typing in and you have to start over. App stops and when trying to start again, photos don't always show up. Repeatedly have to close and restart to get photos back.

Images almost never load, making it difficult or nearly impossible to make the app useful Edit: been waiting over a month for the photo issue in the app to be addressed. When zooming into images, a large black box appears and covers the image. I pay for this service and the app is a miserable experience, please fix this urgently and I will increase my rating.

After making changes to the tree, it breaks and is blank. When trying to refresh it using the tips from the Ancestry support page, it stays blank after saying "syncing tree" or the app closes. It took about 10 attempts to refresh my tree today. Changes made via the webpage also rarely ever sync on the first try. App is very finicky and apparently if I delete the app (uninstall/reinstall is usually the fix for app problems) I will also cancel my membership?!?

Every time they fix something, something else breaks, like the gallery to add photos stops working randomly. Can't view all trees on the overview on the app, which would be fine if there was a search button. Only way to get into a tree on the app that you haven't opened in 30 or more recent trees, is to make it a recently edited tree by logging into the desktop site, opening the tree and making an edit. This is bothersome when you just want to view a tree that isn't currently on the list of 20!

Features that were included when I purchased the test are quickly being removed and hidden behind a paywall. Lots of bugs and random crashes now, too. I'm also constantly being forced to log in when launching the app. I've gone from using the app for an hour, or so, nearly every day, to perhaps twenty minutes a week. Very disappointing.

Very frustrating to use. UI is not intuitive and you are super limited unless you pay for the highest subscription. I joined so I can view a tree that my mom has done a significant amount of work on. I was hoping I could 'link' myself to that tree but I can't even view it, even after upgrading to the first tier of the paid subscription. Upgraded my subscription package to view traits, and now I can't even see the previous free traits! The page won't load anything.
