Please Do better. Instead of all the annoying pop-ups and non intuitive layout, make it easier to access user profile, make changes. Auto add TSA pre check to ALL boarding passes automatically when you have an up-to-date KTN in the app. Make the chat bot actually function like a helpful human instead of just being a waste of time. In short, be less terrible.

Update 6 years later: still no wallet boarding passes. Do you even have an android team? Update: 4 years later, still cannot add boarding passes to Google wallet. Cannot add the boarding passes to the new google pay app. Now with the latest ux design, you cannot use the app. Who even designed this app? They have put all custom interactions and one thing that is only required for the app to do (boarding pass) is not supported.

Can't even get started. Filled out all required fields for signing up, and after clicking on "submit" it says "Sending Enrollment". And it will say "Sending Enrollment" for 20-30 minutes without actually sending anything. (it wouldve gone for longer but that's about when I figured it just wasn't going to happen)I tried multiple times with the same result. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still can't get signed up.

This app is pretty good for most things like booking flights, checking statuses, getting alerts. Unfortunately, it's nearly unusable when trying to change flights. It's a nonzero chance that trying to change your flight will cancel your entire reservation with no notice or refund. Best case scenario is it takes you 10 tries to make a change. Hopefully they make some improvements.

2024 update - the app still sucks. I couldn't get boarding passes for my kid on the app. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app 3 times to get all 3 boarding passes for my group. When I tried to get boarding passes for my return flight, it only showed our previous boarding passes. I've spent 3 hours on the phone with AA for this trip alone bc of the app. 2022- The app is awful. It never loads. I end up having to get a paper boarding pass every time. This app is a piece of junk.

Won't show boarding passes when you lose a data connection, so it's pretty fragile. When you're on board, streams stop all the time. Listening to music, you can pretty much just play one song at a time - it never jumps to the next one. When trying to play music, the little bars animate, whether music is playing or not, which is confusing.

This app is not very useful or reliable. Error messages are less informative than the website. Time zones are not listed. Sometimes boarding passes never show up when clicking on View Passes. Airport maps are not downloaded for a flight, requiring in flight WiFi. Customer service chat is somewhat helpful, though they incorrectly stated my flight times.

Board in 9 minutes, and the app cant retrieve my boarding passes, but it loaded them to get through TSA Now for my return flight, its telling me I cant check in travelling with a pet. I'm not travelling with a pet, and I didn't on my first flight. If you can't get this feature to work, just remove it from the app. Almost missed my flight yesterday due to it not loading boarding passes, and I have to be at the airport at 4am for this flight, and it wont let me check in.

i just got a notification of a delayed flight which would cause me to miss my connection. it was very confusing to attempt to reschedule the connection. the chat bot needs a confirmation code, which isn't obvious in my flight info, and was of no help rescheduling. when i finally got it rescheduled, i tried confirming my prepaid checked bag is still included, but could find no info. when i attempt to re-pay for a bag to be sure it errors.

While the flight attendants and pilots were fantastic the app is horrible. It locked up & wouldn't let me view boarding passes an hour prior to flight. Couldn't board our resolve, app locked up my trip so the kiosks couldn't print pass. Missed flight, causing missed connecting flight. Arrived 8 hours late to destination. When app manually fixed by support staff, it canceled me return flight. 2 hours on hold to get new return flight. No plans to ever use American airlines again. Horrible App

To be honest, it seems like the only thing it's good for is checking in and boarding passes and updates on flights. It's pretty much useless for using inflight Internet (there seems to be no way to access that, despite what the brochures in the seatback say). Half the time it seems like the app doesn't want to load, and it has very limited functionality, no customer service support, way to check account, etc. I'm not that impressed

2/15/24 Logs out everytime I move to a new page. Can't buy miles or purchase itineraries left on hold without a laptop. Honestly, the app is utter garbage, except to look up flights. Really annoying having to log in multiple times per session 🙄! 4/8/24 App is still garbage. I've deleted and reinstalled the app 3 times and it still won't load the start page. AA, yall can afford to hire a better IT team. Do it!

Hands down the WORST airline app! Never works right, my flight for 2 days ahead is no where on the app! Horrible design app to began with! Search via confirmation number just goes around and around... No result! Mobile boarding pass, if you find the button for it, you are forced to use the garbage app, no wallet option! Good luck getting it to load quickly when boarding.... I take screenshot! This is why I fly Delta and southwest, and only AA when forced due to destination's limitations.

Horrible UI. Every time you open the app it seems to decide at random which options to include on the main screen. The app also revoked my boarding pass for a layover flight just because they thought it would be too close for me to make it. I made the flight, but had to ask the attendant in person to let me on, despite the fact that I had already checked in to the flight hours before. That delay almost made me miss my flight and spend a night in the airport. Unacceptable

1/3 of the time the app works correctly, that is when you're buying a flight, with cash, not points. 1/3 of the time trying to check in and when you want to see the boarding pass, you get the spinning wheel of death waiting for it to load, no matter the data connection your using. The last 1/3 of the time it doesn't work at all, as if the app is being updated. American Airlines, learn how to utilize technology properly, then maybe I'll add an extra star.

AA app experience has been horrible. Constantly states it cannot find the reservation. Boarding tickets dissappear after checking in or simply does not pull up. extremely slow to process Regardless of wifi or high speed data connection. Absolute garbage customer experience, please fix this. It is inexcusable that this has not been addressed for a premier airline. American Airlines, you are a premier airline, correct? Please fix the app.

My experience with American has not been terrible, but this app is GARBAGE. It is completely useless... In fact, it will actually make it more difficult for you, because it will confuse you. The information it provides is not accurate whatsoever, notifications are sent late, and flight statuses are wrong. I was tracking my flight through it and I missed it. The people at the counter were helpful though.

Poor app for the traveler Apps for airlines should be simple and straightforward. This app fails at most tasks. Trying to confirm a passport with camera scan often doesn't work. Trying to add checked bags for a trip results in having to start all over, only to fail again. I ended up having to go online via my laptop to accomplish the task. On more than one occasion gate information was wrong.

Please make a filter to remove basic economy tickets from searches! I'm never going to buy one and it makes it hard to compare prices and times when none of the prices are right because they are all for basic economy tickets and not normal ones. The rest of the app is great. But that one flaw is a big one!

What is wrong with this app!! I've had to uninstall and reinstall to access my boarding pass today! I've never had issues b4, but I thought this issue would be fixed already since this has been going on since yesterday. Hopefully, this app is fixed tomorrow when I really need it. What's the point of a mobile boarding pass when you can't access it.
