Reply: I already did that and received a robo response via email and guess what? The problem still isn't fixed! Update: Still absolute garbage. Freezes when switching between apps while using mobile data. Now it crashes whenever I try to research a stock or place a trade. Custome Service's reply was, "oh yeah, we know. You should have a fix by tomorrow. For now just use the website." I'm looking for other platforms but they all seem to be just as unreliable. Original: Absolute garbage. Suddenly

Why change the design of the snapshot page without making the same aesthetic updates to the rest of the app? It creates a highly disjointed user experience. Dark mode to light mode, different fonts, different colors, different flow. Update the rest of the app before pushing one weirdly useless visual update. Update: The app is now super glitchy. I have to force close and restart it often. The snapshot page and old account pages are still as disjointed and jarring and nothing has been improved.

Second Update: Now the app is completely broken! The login page doesn't work at all. Avoid this company like the plague!!!!! A full third of the account history view is blocked by an empty gray box -- it doesn't do anything, it's just a glaring bug. Plus there's no way to view the running account balance. Also, the app refuses to let me set a PIN without adding a lock to the entire phone. I don't want to do that and no other banking app I use has that restriction.

Update. Absolutely worse banking app possible. Have not been able to access my account since the app *upgrade". Latest Google Pixel 8 so not a HW issue. Constantly getting 'aervice unavailable" error, that is when I can even enter my credentials. Totally sux. Ally customer for 15+ years with multiple accounts including investment accounts.

Works great for the most part. However I have never been able to enroll in paperless statements. Everytime I try I get 'our system has encountered an error we are unable to recover from and your request is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call us 24/7 for help' and I'm not about to be waiting on hold for this so I continue receiving paper statements and throwing them away

So it appears that I'm not the only individual having issues with this app, I went as far as removing the app for two days reloaded and it still doesn't work. No it's not my connection (all my other apps are working). To make things even worse, the website won't work when trying to login. So it appears that someone in your IT department has made a huge mistake. Please contact all customers once you get these issues resolved, no one wants an account that you can't login into.

One of the more unstable banking apps out there, unfortunately to put it that way. This includes encountering the "we've hit a snag" error message almost once in a few days (all too often for this app genre to occur). It would also fail (unresponsive or giving blank numbers) mid session of something important or even when switching in bteween apps. Similar experience sometimes occurred also on the website, wonder if they are fundamentally related.

Recent update, or lack thereof, has made the app completely unusable. Buggy and crashes constantly. Used to work fine 4/5/24 Update: Ran the most recent update. Still can't use the app. Whenever you click buckets or boosters on the savings account page it crashes. When you click transfers, it crashes. Navigate to any detail in the spending account page it crashes.

Bank itself is great. However as an online only bank the app is a huge part of the experience. The app only functions a small percentage of the time. At the moment I'm unable to see transactions or make transfers. Last week I was unable to move money into savings or buckets. I turned off over draft transfers and they did it anyway instead of just declining my card like I preferred.

Recent UI changes are a big step backwards. The app is increasingly cluttered with fluff and links to web content outside of the app. There are also seemingly different design schemes for the views of all accounts vs individual accounts, with the later using an older UI style. I know it's the way of the world, but I really miss the prior simplicity.

I've used Ally for 10+ years. The app has been great, but I'm not a fan of the new update. Half the screens just take you to the old app layout (which is jarring) and the new layout has a "dark mode" which I can't find a place to disable and go back to a "light mode". The in-app "Give Feedback" link doesn't work so I can't actually provide feedback. I'm not very impressed by this latest update...

Can't get past the "update your profile" screen. All the fields are filled out but the "Save and Continue" button is disabled. Twice this year, this app has prevented me from accessing my account. This is ridiculous!! UPDATE: Called Ally, and they said to sign via website, then go back to app, which worked (for now).

I would love the ability to retroactively change which bucket my debits come from, like with my Novo business checking account. It would make budgeting so much easier! At least showing what buckets a debit is taken from in the details of the activity. I have to check every bucket's totals to figure it out sometimes. I shouldn't need an abacus to do this!

App is quite buggy. Edit: I'll start by listing one bug at a time here and edit once it's solved. When transferring from Spending to Saving, 85% of the time it shows "We Apologize. Our system has encountered an error we are unable to recover from and your request is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call us 24/7 for help." I did not call because I don't want to place a phone call for every transfer and the agent won't be able to fix the app.

I have tried to make remote deposits and the app keeps crashing. I called and was given the routine advice: remove the app and reinstall, clear the cache. Nothing works. They banks has no idea and the customer rep has no idea how to hanlde the issue. I am forced to use my laptop to make deposits. I wish someone at Ally cared enough to find out why this is happening and resolve it. But they don't seem to care.

Ally is great for their financial service. They offered a credit card while I was rebuilding my credit, and everything is fine in that way. That said, this app is complete trash. Barely functions half the time, and can take upto 3 business days to process a payment to my card. Most institutions I've used are instant or same day. Needs work for sure.

when you have something great, then you go and mess it up. that's the only way I can describe this app, so I guess I'm going back to making my auto payment in. no I don't want a house or the other junk on this app. I specifically got it for an auto loan. //// ok still not working and it's causing my credit to crash not being able to make payments. Login is impossible. it's now the middle of June. There's several attempts to fix it and it can not be logged into at this time try again later.

Honestly, I just opened an account with Ally and haven't used the app yet, but reading what others have said about the updated version, it seems obvious that everyone would be happier if Ally reverted back to the previous version which everyone seemed to be happy with! Since I do much of my banking, including mobile check deposits, I may consider switching banks if this is not sorted out. Thank you in advance, Ally, for listening.

I downloaded this to take care of my car payments and what not and it worked fine for the setup but every since I set up my account there has been nothing but problems. I can't ever get into my account. It'll state that it cant open due to something went wrong. Then when I do get in after a x amount of tries it'll give me internal errors constantly. Such a horrible app

Sometimes I'm told I can't get to my account, recently I've gotten that error message for the pass 3days it's very annoying and when I checked to see if there is and update I see there's not. This is my biggest issue. My other issue is that I don't always get told I received a deposit when I set the settings to tell me. It's hit or miss. I do get the email tlbut the text is hit or miss. And lastly there's been a few times my settings were changed for the cashback without me doing doing.
