The number of typos in some of their articles is embarrassing. Edit: the app completely changed since I last used it, it has great browsing of articles and videos, kinda silly that you can't make a separate account to login. And they have many zooming and mobile display issues with resolution and scrolling.

App is ok, but somehow they cannot create a sharing functionality that adheres to common standards. The sharing icon is weird, it then shares not the actual link, but a shortened one that cannot be read. Also, it changes the headline in the shared article. Why try and reinvent the wheel, and replace it with something substandard? Just do like everyone else does, and you'll have a much better product.

If I would say for news sources and to what extent that is true there is no doubt but the problem I am struggling with is Google search option. A selected word cannot be searched for meaning when app is open and if reader really want to do it then he or she has to search on an separate app, a person can't search a word in same time being on current page of AJ ENGLISH. you just need to work on dictionary feature except that all is good.

After having watched the TV functionality but stopped it (probably because there's no more need as I now want to read news pages on the app) Jazeera TV functionality keeps automatically starts by itself up again.....and there's no way to stop it (even if I close the app). I'm left with no choice but to reboot my entire phone to stop the TV functionality.

Exceptionally! The credibility of the news (coverage) is amazing. Reporting events across the whole world, without being opinionated, makes it one of the excellent news-channels! This channel has certainly evolved to be reckoned as one of the standard global channels! Their special programs, covering an in-depth analysis of myriad topics in what makes it stand out! However, a significant limitation of the app is that, there no "search" provision (icon), to look up for any specific program!

I really like the news reports and the depth of your research. But unfortunately the app isn't working properly. I use it daily and I will continue to use it, but it doesn't work like it's supposed to. It's a minor inconvenience, but I would really appreciate it if you could make it work as supposed to. Keep up the fantastic job of reporting the news. You are second to none. This was a while ago. I'm still having trouble with viewing live news. It just freezes and buffers al the time.

5 stars for AJ content. The app, on the other hand, even though it is stable and free of costs, does show a fair bit of ads and does not allow to rotate the screen. Reading in Portrait mode is a bit of a pain, to be honest. Will keep using the browser, that allows for landscape view and blocks out the ads.

It's not the ads that are a problem, it's the erratic jumping around of the app as a whole. Also, when opening a graphic it is not able to be magnified on screen using thumb and forefinger. It lacks a level of sophistication seen in other news apps such as bbc, guardian, etc. I keep it because it often contains other points of view and has stories not well or fully covered by other news apps

I can't get scrolling through an article without accidentally clicking an ad! I like Al Jazeera as a news agency, and the app is fairly well organized, but the ads thing is ridiculous! I hardly touch the screen and the ad pops up and I've clicked already. It just shows up out of nowhere too! So disrespectful. I will see an ad if I have to but if it just pops up last minute as I'm scrolling, it's just rude and annoying!! Also, I'm 30, so it's not like I don't know how to operate my phone...

Good source, terrible app. This app's screen formatting on my Pixel 3XL is absolute trash. It splits the screen vertically and turns headlines into unreadable columns just a few characters wide with several screens worth of scrolling space. It has been like this for months now, since the last major update. I held on for a very long time hoping there would be a fix but it seems unimportant to the developers. Very disappointing, and now no longer part of my daily news cycle. What a waste.

I'm a big fan of the Al Jazeera news channel. My 2-star rating is for the app only. I see that the app needs to be improved a lot. I'm citing some of the shortcomings below: * The video player doesn't have control such as speed control, CC, fullscreen options which are a must these days on mobile apps * The video player doesn't support auto-rotate option at all. It currently supports only the portrait mode, which makes the app look very outdated * The app doesn't have an archives section.

Nice app but the content sometimes is found with typographical, grammatical, and factual errors. For example today, USA pulling missile batteries out of, among others, Iran? Please fix that. There is no way (or obvious, at least) for us to send a little note to bring it to their attention for the sake of correcting it and for the improvement of the entire package.

Update 3.17.2022 Just saw that this app won't be supported after end of month! Ugh! I downloaded the new version and quickly uninstalled it, a gutted, extremely lite version that is no comparison to this app, from what I saw. I'll enjoy this one while it lasts... +++++++ My choice over BBC for world news. Doesn't seem simply only regurgitate the mainstream stories.

This used to be an excellent app. Unfortunately, although the content is still informative and well written, the app itself is barely functional: it crashes regularly, notifications do not take you to the page of the notification, and the app tries to force you into a new Al Jazeera app which is very poorly put together. I recommend all users just simply go to the Al Jazeera English website for the time being, until they fix or replace the app.

Its good for the most part at being neutral and good at getting you up to speed on several stories around the world. Especially important issues hard to find on American news. However do keep in mind that this news agency is not as neutral as it seems. While better than American CNN and FOX News, it's still biased towards typically the liberal side of the spectrum, with some news pieces sometimes seeming as opinion pieces. But overall still great news source. Just keep in mind it's slight bias.

Terrible. I like getting news from many different sources but the app should be logical and intuitive. When I get a notification for a story I should tap that notification whenever I have time to read it and have the app take me to that story. Instead you get taken to whatever the most recent story is and good luck finding what you were hoping for.

Great news source, widest breadth of reporting of any international news organization, often a bit MB-aligned but generally neutral. App however has several problems. News stories interface is clunky & doesn't scroll from one story to the next (The BBC app is a good example of how this should work), & the "Watch" function for live broadcasts is terrible, does not seamlessly change from split screen to full screen, is endlessly buffering and just stops after 15 mins & not moving to next segment.

I find Al Jazeera's content to be quite good, however the app gets docked points when attempting to use it on a NVidia Shield Android TV. There is no way to use the remote control to navigate the bottom bar (Top Stories|My Feed|Watch|Browse|More ), or for that matter it's not even possible to scroll down to select a story. Using the remote from my smartphone, I can switch it to a "touchpad" style control in order to click on one of the items on the bottom bar. Please fix this!

2 more issues: 1) Your ads are disruptive because they cause the info to move resulting in my finger touching the wrong spot and forcing me through more steps to do what I had originally intended. 2) Once I've saved an article I have to scroll from the top (beginning) all the way down to where I left off to continue. This very annoying! Your competition is doing much better! Please improve very soon!

I'd happily pay monthly for an ad-free, better functioning app. Al Jazeera is one of my favorite news sources. Unfortunately, the reading experience in app is marred with bad functionality, intrusive ads, and clunky text. This frustration is what keeps me from being a daily reader. On the positive side, the ability to tune in to live video is awesome.
