What’s online banking without a mobile app?
With the AIB Mobile on your phone you have access to:
- View up to 2 accounts without logging in: press that Quick Balance button!

- Share your IBAN & account details

- View & export up to 7 years of statements

- Report your card if it is lost or stolen (it happens!)

- Freeze/Unfreeze your card

- Reset your PAC or recover your Registration Number (it's hard to remember everything!)

- View & cancel your Direct Debits and Standing Orders

- Apply for Personal Loans while on the go

- And much more...

To use the app you need to be registered for AIB Phone and Internet Banking.

The app needs the following permissions to work on your phone:
- Identity/Contacts – we need the device name so you can unregister (ie. remotely wipe the app) from AIB Internet or Tablet Banking
- Phone - so you can call our help or product numbers directly from the app
- Device ID & call information - to read phone status and identity
- Calendar - so you can add reminders to your calendar when serving notice on Online Notice Deposit savings accounts

2 major bugs: 1. I'm simply unable to click transaction approval when it pops up on my notification window. It vanishes in less than a second from my notification panel. And on going within the banking app, I'm still unable to find the transaction approval window. 2. The quick glance of balance won't work on Google Pixel Pro 8. It would usually fill up the whole screen for thumbprint authentication icon and will not allow me to just have a balance glance. Instead I need to sign in everytime.

When it actually works it's great but half the time it doesn't. You're stuck for minutes trying to login while the app just keeps bringing you back to the login page. And when you finally do get it in you have to update your authentication. I've been stuck in the City Centre before trying to login to transfer money to my current account to get a taxi. And the push notifications dear god, you'll be lucky if they come through so you can authenticate your purchase. Not a good app, needs major work.

Frustrating and Unreliable I’ve been using this bank’s mobile app for a while now, and the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. Logging into the app is a nightmare. It frequently rejects my credentials despite being correct. This issue happens so often that it makes the app almost unusable for daily banking needs. Another significant drawback is the lack of push notifications for online shopping transactions. In summary, this bank’s mobile app needs serious improvements.

Half the time the notification to approve purchases never appears. I was stuck abroad when my flight was cancelled and the app wouldn't let me approve another flight ticket when I tried to purchase one online, I had to get someone else to buy it and then pay them back later. Also it takes forever to login since you need to put in your pass code several times. Even when the push notification appears and I approve it, it doesn't go through!

Oh my god, your app is unbearable. Usually it takes me 5 attempts to just login, because it simply refreshes after I fill my password. Today I can't login at all! And when I try to pay for a purchase online, I do not receive a notification. I need to log into the app first for the notification to appear. But after I return to the site to finally finish the payment, the application closes!

The push notifications have become a serious problem lately. They were never great but now they don't come up at all when buying online or trying to login to online banking on a browser (not everything can be done in the app). I have updated the app, and notifications are enabled. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app, which worked for one transaction but now I'm back to no push notifications coming through. Absolutely awful service.

This app went from hero to zero in a matter of months . The amount of bugs it has now is just not acceptable. I have to uninstall and reinstall 3 times in the last 2 months. This app is so poor ,it would make me want to leave aib . !! Sort it out

Can't create an account, it just keeps getting stuck on the "next" option. I've never had an app work worse than this one, and that's saying a lot since I've downloaded at least 5 utter shambollocks that hardly work. If I could, I'd rate this 0 stars

Terrible app, you can't even log in most of the time. Hardly screams reliability. Too bad if you need to move money around at short notice when you're not at home (the whole point of a mobile app). You'll just be stuck on the login screen for 20 minutes. Really frustrating.

I often do not receive notifications to confirm the purchase or login. It sometimes takes 3-5 retries to work. Other banking apps that I use don't have this problem. Edit: Two years later it haven't changed. Still the worst banking app I've ever used.

Recently the app fails at login two times out of three. It's not reliable or usable. The push notifications to confirm approve a payment often never arrive or arrive after the online payment has timed out. It's quickly making my AIB account a pain to use. After 33 years at AIB I will have to be off to revolut if this doesn't get better soon.

Up until recently, I loved the app and found it much better than BOI. However, in recent months the issues like seen here are constant. I have had to phone AIB several times, and get them to approve my online transactions. They assured me it wasn't a random security check and said it was a problem with Airbnb. However my previous transaction was not Airbnb!! I believed it, but now I don't!! Also the last few weeks, there is some distortion. One account isn't visible so probs paying bills!!

Hello AIB Mobile developers, I was previously using AIB on iOS and had no issues. I have switched to Android and the application is a lot buggy. The rows squish and the content is not at all readable. The user experience is not at all great. I have tried installing and reinstalling the application as well but it's still the same. The transitions between different windows doesn't look great either. Can this please looked into. If you need anymore information, please do reach out to me.

Unable to make online purchases as push notifications don't work. Was told to re-install the app and now unable to access my pin in the app to make purchases even in store or online. I have accounts with BOI , revolut and American Express and this is by far the worst. Can't do a thing without needing to call AIB customer support and only have an account about 6 months. Dual factor authentication in the app and it means absolutely nothing as the user has no control over their own account.

At this stage is more of a joke. I waited a long time to see ANY improvement. My phone isn't top grade but he is decent and run properly by other banking app etc. I have a redmi13 pro The app sometimes don't send notification sometimes it does. The sometimes reject your connexion and suddenly it is ok. After few more tries. Sometimes few is a lot though. I am even wondering to close my account to go for another one. Because it is frustrating at times.

Lately it is constantly stuck in a loading state, requiring multiple uninstall and reinstalls. Edit: it is consistently a terrible experience. The Mobile app switches between locking me out completely so I can't access smy account via mobile, and squeezing all the text so it's borderline unreadable. Only fixes itself on uninstall and reinstall, which is a bad experience because then you are capped at 250 quid transfers. Really feeling like I should go back to BOI.

After years of working fine, the app has been abysmal for nearly two months now. Frequent issues logging in and authorization notifications are delayed or don't appear at all, my card is sometimes randomly frozen (an issue with the bank instead of the app). I'm considering changing my bank due to the avalanche of basic functionality issues

I haven't had the issues logging in that others have had but whenever I am making an online purchase the notification will ping but disappear almost immediately. This isn't me dismissing it mistakenly or something. If I watch the screen I will see the notification pop up with confirm or deny and then it just disappears. It's not in my system notification tray and not visible when I enter the app. This forces me to cancel the order I'm making and try again. Very frustrating.

Most mediocre bank and app I've ever used. It just takes forever to do the most menial tasks. Amongst the terrible features are: the app is hard to navigate - it has terrible sense of UI and required so many taps to do you what you need, it doesn't allow you to add contacts via the mobile app (despite the phone being a trusted device), and as of lately the app won't even open because it says it doesn't trust the next work I'm in (Currently using Vodafone data).

3DS authentication often doesnt appear - 8 times out of 10 it doesnt appear leaving me in limbo trying to complete my online purchase. When it does appear, it doesnt always work either so I'm not sure if payment has been taken or not. Logging in is a continuous issue, security check complete, but its not, then it tells me to update app, which i do, but that doesnt fix the issue either. Very poor. Would score less than 1 if I could. No wonder customers in Ireland are jumping ship to Revolut!!
