More About AIB Authenticator

The AIB Authenticator App enables 2FA (second factor authentication) for your AIB account. The App provides an additional layer of security which will allow you to log in or authenticate critical transactions on your account.
Once you are set up you simply have to enter your password, and then approve or deny the push notification sent to your phone.

Enrolment is easy. Once you download the app follow the steps to register your device. As part of enrolment you may be asked to create a Digital Profile. Your Digital Profile is a representation of identity information and security credentials which will allow us to uniquely identify you so you enjoy our services more securely.

Horrible. I've only had problems, keep getting error messages and then have to start from beginning to make a transfer. What used to take 1 minute is now taking an hour. Yesterday spent the whole day troubleshooting this op and today again after taking the time to try and make a transfer getting an error message. This is a huge waste of my time and takes me away from my business and customers!

Lads it just doesn't work. Sometimes I try to login and it sends me back to the main screen again with the big login button. When I do get past the login screen (randomly), it shows me an error screen saying ring these numbers. I have tried for BOTH of my companies on my P30 pro and I get the exact same error screen each time. How can you send us so many warnings about downloading this app and then release an app like this? One that simply doesn't work.. It is not acceptable.

I am very annoyed with this app. I have made sure that the notifications for the app are activated. I tried purchasing something online and the notification does pop up but I have to log in everytime and when I do login it won't give me the option to confirm. So I can't purchase anything online. This is very annoying and no matter how many times I do it...it makes no difference. I need help with this immediately!!

Constantly experience bugs opening 3ds notifications and seeing either a black screen or login screen. No screen to approve the transaction. Awful app. Sometimes, I don't receive push notifications unless the app has been recently opened. I should be able to approve transactions inside the app, not just from push notifications because the deep links rarely work.

Trying to make a simple payment online and can't as Authenticator App won't work. I'm receiving th prompt. I'm clicking Confirm, but when I try to continue with the payment, it doesn't recegnise that I have confirmed. This is stupid. I never wanted this. Simple transactions are being made more and more complicated but it would be fine if it actually worked. It has worked for me in the past, but when it won't now. It's really frustrating. This is important. This is for my NCT and I can't book it.

Terrible terrible app, every single time I try to authenticate a payment it doesn't work. Every single transaction I try multiple times to confirm my purchase, and it's a lottery, sometimes it works, but usually it doesn't, and I have to use Revolut instead, or on one occasion, just to the location and pay in person.. I'm sick of it; it is not fit for purpose.

Horrendous app logic. If you add a card the app does not progress to the next screen. Confirming either email does the same. The system continually sends new numbers for you to enter. Unfit for purpose. In response to AIB cust support the app was uninstalld, reinstalled and 3 email accounts not verified by app. 2 hours on customer support without success or a callback.

App rarely works. Have to repeatedly uninstall/install the app to get it to work, Even then it might just do one transaction. Nightmare to use. Easier to write a cheque and post it. Going to change banks. This has been an ongoing issue for a long time that AIB are fully aware of. It seems like nothing has been done to rectify it.

Truly awful. Can't make consecutive online payments. Second time around the notification pops up on screen but when I click through it brings me to log-in screen instead of payment approval screen. Update: WiFi & mobile broadband connections are not the issue. First payment always works fine and then I end up having to restart my phone if I want to do a second one.

It took a lot of work to get this application working. It kept seeking to verify office number (which is a landline) by text. I logged in on my desktop and changed my office number to a mobile number to overcome this problem. Next Problem: It would not send a verification code to my (functional email). It was still locking me out so I cleared the cache ... no difference. I restarted the phone ... still locked out. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app .... Somehow, it remembered my two previous number verifications, and was in and was able to enter my debit card. What a mess! Persist and you should get there .... Good luck ... You'll need it!

For me, aib push notifications seemed to come through to my phone only half the time. I installed this app hoping that this would address the problem. No such luck, this is unbelievably frustrating. Stuck in a cycle of looking to update phone number, not accepting the update, and now all push notifications getting lost in a failed app. Do not install this app!!

By far the worst app I have ever used. EVER. Absolutely rubbish. Half the time when I click on the push notification to confirm my purchase, instead of the app opening straight to the confirm button, it takes me to the app login. If I proceed to log in there is no way from there to confirm the purchase. So I have to close the app. CANCEL MY PURCHASE in the 2 factor authentification screen and go through the whole payment process again. If I could give it zero stars I would. Embarrassingly bad

To add to all the prior reviews, it just doesn't work, just error messages and failures, great way to drive your customers to other solutions. Thanks AIB for replying to me but I'm not paid to test your software solutions. Your time would be better spent firing who ever developed this, and giving your customers a simpler solution that actually works. My card is now unusable for online transactions. Its so secure not even the card holder can use it.

Left review 1 year ago, hundreds more have since, and it's still the same.. the generic response from AIB is nearly as frustrating as the app itself! The problem is simple, if you do one transaction, it will usually work, then you try to do a second one and neither God nor man can make it work! After the first transaction, the link takes you to a login screen, not the confirm screen! Yes I know, clear cache, clear cards, reinstall and maybe it might work, I'd prefer if you'd fix the f##ing app.

Awful. It does not work. Ring customer service. They cant help. Make an app that works properly before your release it and in doing so prevent your customers from using their cards. Ridiculous. It has wasted so much of my time and still I cant sort it out. Reply: I log in using all the correct info (after speaking to customer service numerous times) the screen flashes up and then I just get a screen pop up that says log in error with no error code and the only option is to log out.

[Editted]the notifications are frequently very slow to get from the online retailers to the app. When i click on the notif it freq brings me to a previously completed transact, and i cannot get the recent transact. I have to cancel on the website, and process the transact again(which usually means re-entering all credit card details). This usually makes me reluctant to use the AIB credit card. [Update] yes i reported to the call centre, but "we will report to mgt", and I never hear from anyone.

Yes I am experiencing problem with the app!!! It does not want to send me messages to authenticate transactions. I have installed and reinstalled both the app and card numerous times!!!! I have made sure that my battery is never less than 80% when making a transaction, I have had my wifi on and off. I have cleared recent apps. I have made sure that all notifications are turn on. Both in the app and on my phone. My profile has been verified all ticks.... This is horrible!!! Can you please sort!!!

Quite literally the most frustrating app I've ever used. It simply does not work about 70% of the time, seemingly for no reason, and almost always at the most crucial point of important purchases. I also use Bank of Ireland for a separate account and have never once had a problem with their authentication process. Do better AIB

This app is terrible! I wish they would invest more money into making it better. It has one job and it can't do that job. I often lose transactions because of it and have to start all over again. Very frustrating. [update] responding to AIB reply. Yes it shows up on the app but it doesn't go through, you have to try it multiple times, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It takes up a lot of time and is annoying. I'm considering moving my bank account because of it.

I deleted my 3 previous reviews just to say once more how annoying this app is. After 3 years of experiencing the same problems with it, nothing has changed. I have to open and close the app, turn notifications on and off until it eventually might work - often this takes so long that my payment times out and I have to start the annoying process again. AIB stop auto-replying to peoples negative reviews and actually fix the app.
