UX could be improved on this app. Nothing wrong with it, per se, but I wish I could shop by category in the side menu rather than having to scroll down the page until I got to the category thay I am looking for and then filtering in to more specific categories. Not sure why AE is trying to reinvent the wheel on that. Nav should be similar to the set up of the website... Seems like a disconnect. Extra taps and clicks are unnecessary and honestly makes it harder to shop. Why bother DL'ing the app?

Decent app just wish it were easier to see everything faster and it's frustrating when you find something you absolutely must have and then click on it and there's no sizes available, don't understand why it stays up when it's completely unavailable, it'd be nice to see something like unavailable or very limited sizes available as to not get so disappointed. Because AE is one of my favorite stores for jeans and dresses.

I have to uninstall and reinstall the app to place orders all the time. When I go to check out and press the "place order" button nothing happens. It's the color grey as if something is wrong with my address/card info but no error message pops up. I know I am not putting in anything incorrectly, and it magically works after I reinstall the app.

When you try to checkout, it spins and spins, an endless loop of glitches. And if you want to start a new search, you' d think you could hit the back button (because there is not a home button). But hit back enough, and the app closes! Then you click it again to open it, & finally brings you to the home screen where you can start a new search. The website sucks (because clicking colors/sizes on an items detail page never functions properly) but it's better than the app!!!

I previously reviewed this app 2 years ago (see below). It works really well now!! I wish the stock levels were better! But the app is much improved, from my previous dislikes! ... 3/27/18 - This app works pretty well, except when they completely run out of an item. The website has the same issue though. When an item is completely out, and you attempt to select it, you are taken to the top of the previously viewed items.

Used to be great. Now it crashes or fails to load almost every time. I swear I've reinstalled like 16x since this started happening ~2 months ago. Not worth the struggle and has prevented me from making clothing purchases. And this is coming from someone who used to order like once a month at least. Choosing to shop elsewhere lately since so many AE deals are app-only.

Since the last update, this app crashes all the time and doesn't load properly! Even when you click keep me logged in, it still logs you out, and you have to resign in each time you use the app. Also, it would be nice if they would include to search through item reviews by height and weight like you can on their website online. If they add this and fix the crashing issues, it would be five stars!!

App is so buggy. Constantly logs me out on the rare occasion it does work. Otherwise, just constant "we are having network problems" messages until I uninstall and reinstall the app. Back almost a year later. Deleting and redownloading the app again. 7/2/24: uninstalling and redownloading the app again because it never works for longer than a couple weeks. Is this on purpose so you have better download stats??? Please fix it or I won't redownload it again.

I have tried using this app for the past year and it never opens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and confirmed I have the updated version but every time I get the same error- Sorry We're Having Network Issues. Please try again in a few minutes. You are all missing out on money because I would love you make several purchases. My daughter's phone is getting the same error so I know it's not just my device.

Haven't been able to place order on app last couple months. Seems like big issue. Screen just says 'There's a problem with your order'. Not an issue with my payment, because the authorization hold goes through. First time it happened, I contacted customer service who just said the hold will go away in a few days.

Had to edit. I've shopped AE for over ten years, had this app for a few years and I've spent so much on clothes with them but all of a sudden the app doesn't work. It says failure to connect, I got a new phone and it still doesn't work. They have done nothing to fix it and I refuse to make a new account because it could be something with my current, my current account has all my points and it's almost like they don't want me using them. Their quality is also not what it used to be by any means.

App glitches and keeps signing me out while shopping. It stopped working within the last few days showing an error stating it's offline, had to uninstall and reinstall and was able to make it work finally but the constant signing me out persists. It also blanks out often when clicking on items. Please fix it, what's the point of having an app when it does not keep the login info, may as well go to the website instead...

Virtually the WORST APP OUT THERE!!!!!!Always crashing! Once you finally get logged in, it logs you back out. Constantly freezing. The worst part is they DON'T fix the problems. With most apps, if they issue an update which is ultimately blatantly horrible and causes more problems than existed beforehand......they put out another update to fix some of the bugs. That's not the case here. Weeks, months go by without updates regardless of how broken the product may be.

It's great for shopping on but it's so buggy! The filters don't load right, it's hard to go back, and I haven't been able to add a new payment type through the app on multiple occasions. It's slow or unresponsive more often than not. UPDATE: My review is much the same. It does feel more integrated and the safety measures are good even if annoying. Still too buggy for my liking.

A year or two ago, this app worked great. Now there are frequent glitches and error messages, you have to log in frequently, login information is no longer stored. When clicking on an image, the screen often goes blank. It's tiresome work each time I have to reinstall the app to get it to work properly for only a short time. It's a shame. I used to be a devoted AE girl, but due to disruptions with the app, I have started shopping elsewhere. Please fix the app!

Using this app is getting increasingly frustrating. It constantly has internal service errors and logs me out even though I have it set to keep me logged in. My fix used to be to uninstall and reinstall. I have had to do that more often recently and now that didn't even help. The loading time is taking forever and none of my saved information is in there. I'm not buying items when I can't even get the app to work. Tried going on the site - also get internal service errors.

Faulty. Been using this app for years and they haven't gotten it right. Freezes when you open it, freezes when you click items. I normally have to give up and use the website. if you cut cost on software devs and server maintenance, it's shows AE. This has impacted sales for sure. I have moved on and shopped elsewhere because of the issue.

Using the app was frustrating. It keeps stopping to load. Going from your bag back to shopping I had to go back to the beginning every time and pick for example woman/joggers to get back to where I was so I could order different colors. It took way longer than I wanted to complete my shopping and pay.

UPDATE: It's been just shy of 10 months from a previous review, and I wish I could give this ZERO stars. I haven't been able to open the app, it always says it's having network issues. Or just stays black for a minute then closes. AE jeans are my favorite and fit me best, but I can't buy them online! App is very difficult to navigate, freezes/ glitches often, always has an error... Not a pleasant experience. Took me roughly 20 minutes to compete my purchase after I began the checkout process.

This app is pretty good for viewing items and adding things to your favorites. The trouble starts when you go to purchase and have to continue to go to the previous page to get the purchase page to load. If you want to change your shipping address, well, you're better off going to the store or you've got great parience. There's nothing too crazy outside of the normal click and purchase but you may have to click three or four times... To purchase lol.
