works good but needs better navigation options or at least a way to send coords to a navigation app. the compass is useless for driving somewhere and you can't even copy and paste the coords.i can only hope that is in the works. considering the use of this app I can't figure out why that wasn't put in to begin with

At this point in time its a pretty good app. Now that its been it has been out a while there is an oppertunity to make or participate in an adventure lab wherever you go. I feel like this could be the future of earth or virtual caches because of how linearized it is. Fun app for exploring places around you. however, app is not well suited for midwesterners or people who don't travel as often. There are a lot of places where an adventure lab cant quite exist and a traditional geocache works best

I am changing my review and rating because the App has had several revisions and has been running smooth with those changes. Still concern with how fast it draws battery down, but knowing that I go prepared with backup power charging. Link to directional maps has been good. However, I would still like way to download GPX file to a Nuvi or a way to see if individual adventures overlap other adventures. The need to see overlapping adventures comes into play while visiting or traveling.

My rating is based on using my phone, and was the previous version, not the one I just updated to. The app loaded and let me log in correctly, but when I went to load in an answer, it kept telling me there was a network failure. Despite all my other apps working properly. Turning on and off my phone did not help. I ended up using my friend's iPhone and had to issues with that, other than having to inconvenience them. this has a lot of potential, and when it works was a fun little idea.

Works great for doing Labs and they have fixed most of the issues. I just wish it would notify CO of someone completing a lab. I have a couple of Labs out and have to actually look at the journal entries to see if anyone have did it recently. This is a major complaint by all who use it and they still have not corrected it. Also the coordinates it sends out to external mapping apps is formatted to only work on Google maps from what I see. Feed it to other mapping apps and it doesn't correctly sho

I love the idea behind the app, but it's a real pain to have to do them in order especially if you're not able to get one. I also have trouble going back into the app and leaving my rating and comments it won't let me do it which is very frustrating. It's definitely a battery drainer, it would be nice to have a version on my PC so I can type with my keyboard as my fingers are arthritic and I cannot text. Voice recognition isn't great and comes up with some Wild Things that I never said. Fix thes

Nice concept. I have only done two adventure labs but they were enjoyable. The only ding I have is the app requires you to be online to complete each step of the lab. I don't know that I would want the app to download and retain information forever. if you could download data for short term use while completing the cache and then clear it that would be a big plus.

This app is pretty much required if one wants to do Adventure Lab Caches. No issues with crashes so far. Occasionally it gets stuck searching for adventures, but I stop and restart and it picks them up quickly. It does drain the battery very quickly. Navigation via compass seems more jumpy than other geocaching app navigation. No way to hide completed adventures, and no color difference in icon between completed or non completed adventures. As more are published, it just makes for a more crowded search screen, and more checks to see which adventures are which.

(+) I was able to complete my first Adventure Lab series. It was fun. (-) I made a stupid mistake answering one of the questions and the app shut down, saying it was having trouble connecting. I had to return another day to complete the series because closing and reopening the app that day did nothing. I'm also not thrilled with the way the navigation works and I used compass on the regular geocaching app to head off in the right direction.

Adventure lab caches are fun and can take you to some great places where a normal geocache container wouldn't be appropriate. But the app needs improvement. Navigation is terrible. When I plan my geocaching days, I would like to be able to see the stages on a map so I don't accidentally walk by a cache and miss it because I am using the separate app. You shouldn't have to do the stages in order. I don't feel the app is ready for prime time.

I have done a few labs and some are fun and others not, like caching itself. But it's frustrating because the game could be so much more if Groundspeak choose to do it. True offline capabilities could extend it into foreign countries where cell service is not an option. The same is true about hiking in many parks. It's too frustrating to open up the app with wifi then lose it along the way. It is less an adventure and more like repetitive caching. Until offline is added, a 1 star it is.

I enjoy the app, but it' s best used with subjects that are truly educational, entertaining or adventurous - and in good taste. Unfortunately, some can be full and involve crowded roads - and each stage counts as a "Find", though the effort and diligence may be minimal. I first thought the AL best suited for national parks, etc., where physical caches are forbidden, but that is not a usage encouraged by the AL administrators.

I've been geocaching for more than 11 years, and this app opens a whole new world in the game! Did my first Adventure Lab today, and looking forward to many more. The only comment I have to make is that, as others have posted, it would be nice if this app could be combined or inserted into the regular Geocaching app, as it's a bit awkward to switch back and forth between the two when you're doing AL's and regular caches at the same time. Otherwise, the name says it all... it's a whole new adventure!

I think this app is a really cool premise, but I live in an area without really anything nearby. My friend and I have considered creating an adventure, but it requires us to have already gone on 2 adventures and have a premium membership. I would suggest allowing people to create their own adventures, until there's more trails and adventures in your library. You can still do the premium membership, but maybe use it for more professional/well-made adventures.

So, I want to like this and use it for a new locationless adventure lab. I used the app during an event in August when it was beta. Now I can't get the updated version regardless of how many times I uninstall the old version and try to install the new one. My icon still says Beta, and I don't have all the features it should have. Groundspeak is usually really good, so not sure what's up with this.

This app solves many of the worst problems of traditional Geocaching. No more lost or raided caches. No more stupid lamppost or parking lot caches. And no more rooting through hedges or poison oak. Each waypoint has significance - historical, artistic, or something. A limited number of people are able to create caches so the map doesn't become clogged with insignificant, uninspiring, unmaintained caches. All in all, it's a great app. And I'm sure it's going to get even better with time.

Can be fun to play but... Eats phone battery. Is a pain to figure out which stops are nearby - can really only see one Lab at a time. Way more times than I can count, have been someplace I thought there's be a stop but didn't see one - but later found one in another Lab. Stops are tied to pulling up a specific AL, so you have to go back & forth btw Labs when you're in an area w/ overlapping stops. Defaults to huge search radius i/o user pref. This is horrible near large cities. Overall: PITA.

offline support is abysmal and has led to so much frustration. you should be able to download and open labs offline then complete them later. as it is now, if you go to another app you risk the chance of this app resetting and then you can't start that one or another lab until you have service again. in addition, the app always shows you night maps if you have dark mode on which is annoying. I don't want night maps all the time

Used to work pretty good for me, but in the past month or so the app refuses to update my location accurately. I can be standing in front of stage and it will show me being hundreds+ ft away. I have to restart the app or even my entire phone to get it working again. Very frustrating at this point

I'm growing to like Adventure Labs quite a bit. At first, coming from a Geocaching background, I thought it might be less fun because it's less of a challenge but there's not really a comparison. Adventure Labs are more of an information scavenger hunt than a physical search yet like Geocaching they take me to interesting places I might not otherwise experience. Now when we travel I look forward to finding an Adventure Lab or two! There are other scavenger hunts that cost $ but this is free
