Much like their website, there always seems to be a long lag time when you do a search or click on an item to view. Then it goes from a lag to skipping around too fast or when you hit the back button it takes you to the search page instead of the last page you were on. I've had some difficult at times getting a transaction to go through which is frustrating. I usually just end up going to the physical store location nearby to buy my items rather than buying on the app.

I love shopping at Ace, it's smaller than the big box stores so it's easy to find what I need and the workers are always very helpful. The app however, is terrible. It's constantly freezing and crashing, it constantly changes my store to random stores around the country. It freezes when looking at items, it takes forever to load when it is working. The search feature is garbage, it never seems to work. I really do like Ace a lot, but the app needs some serious, serious work.

I just downloaded the app, so I don't want to rate it yet. The problem I have is when I'm looking for a specific part. Ex: I was looking for a 1/2x1/2x1/2 T with push connectors. Not wanting to look thru 300+ fittings to find it, I went into filters. The first attempt, I made about 3 selections and the app crashed locking my phone up. The next few time just selecting 1 filter made everything crash and lock up. Its suppose to save time, I could go to the store faster th looking thru 300+ fittings

This app is absolutely horrible. It deserves 0 stars. It is a massive waste of time. It is virtually impossible to change the store you are shopping at, and when you finally manage to, it changes back to a random store on its own. It runs at a crawl. When I finally managed to select the correct store and place an order, my order got cancelled for no reason and I wound up losing the coupon I tried to use. This app is complete garbage!!!

Love the brick and mortar store, cannot stand the app! Updating or refreshing does absolutely no good. Simply opening the app results in an "error, something went wrong" message at the top - and that's without doing anything! Slow, lagging, very difficult to add items to your cart, and as others have said, you can't keep your preferred store as an option. It always defaults to something else. You can't really access your dreams or points either, it's less of a hassle to just use a browser.

Downloaded this app to easily access my coupons, as I always seem to forget them on that quick trip to the hardware store. While it is nice to have access to them, the daily push notifications for this or that sale are getting very old. Upon trying to turn them off in the settings, it is setup to immediatly turn them back on. There is no way to stop the daily annoying push notifications. It makes me want to just shop elsewhere.

It's useful to see your available rewards / offers here instead of having to save cards from the mail, but the app does a poor job of everything else. The best example of this is: When you have a pick up in-store order ready, you get a notification, which is nice. But if you click the notification, it just takes you to a blank page in the app that says "Your online order is ready :)" in ENORMOUS font. It would be helpful to show the order number to show the store workers when picking up...

This is my #1 least favorite retail store app. There are so many issues that make using the app and website near impossible at times. For examaple, My wishlist of 40 items randomly added to my cart after the app froze up. I then went to begin removing every item 1 by 1 because there is no "clear cart" option, except I literally could not remove anything to make my purchase. Products are often miscategorized. Loading times are abysmal. Lacks simple and intuitive features that are standard.

Can't change stores, can't sort search results, and can't filter search results. Edit: one year later and the app is still garbage. I open the app, set my preferred store, and when I search for an item it's for a different store. So I tap the drop down menu and select my store again, close the app, and when I open it back up I have to reset my preferred store again. Saving preferences is the entire reason to install an app instead of just using a browser.

The app is slow and laggy. When searching for products, the app takes longer to load results than other competitor apps. I'm running the latest Android software and my phone is new. The frustrating part is when I use the gesture on my phone to go back; the app closes the screen and minimizes the app instead of going back to the previous page. I have to click the back arrow in the app to get to the previous page. Please update the UI!

Do not even bother. I've been accumulating points, coupons, rewards, whatever for over a year but have yet to be able to redeem any because the stupid app WILL NOT let me log in. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, sent support tickets, changed passwords -- all multiple times and it useless. As much as I hate Home Depot, at least they have a functional app. I'd love to use my local Ace, but they don't want me to, apparently.

I think the Ace App is great so far. Fast, and secure platform, no slowness, ease of use, simple UI and UX! I am very satisfied with the app and Ace Hardware's line of products are great, priced lower than similar products and reasonable. In stores however, pricing can vary, and some items are priced far above regular MSRP. I try to price items across different stores to compare who is selling the cheapest option. Returns are also only permitted at site of purchase, it's inconvenient at times

Up until now, I've loved the app. Recently, though, the app force logged me out, and when I try to log in, it tells me that something went wrong every time. I have cleared the cache and data as well as uninstalling and reinstalling it. Nothing has worked and the website isn't as nice. Update- 3 months later and still can't use the app. Pretty sad that nothings been done to fix it

The app is garbage, inventory is always inaccurate, search filters don't actually filter sometimes in searches, doesn't recognize shipping addresses, coupons do not work, product information is inaccurate (especially dimensions) and its always either under maintenance or cannot complete a transaction. Don't bother with the janky thing, order online or just go into the store.

Cannot get past the first screen as I get an error message every time I put in my ZIP code. "Something went wrong, couldn't find location specified". I have tried pressing on the map, tried "search this area" and this results in a search spinning wheel that never stops. I had the app installed up until last week and I deleted it because it is wonky as hell. Just thought I would try it again just in case there was an update to fix the errors. My local Ace hardware is 3.3 mi away. Pathetic...

Poor performance. The buttons aren't responsive, and they lag, so you find yourself double and triple-tapping before it suddenly flashes to a different page. Also, the "Delivery from Store" feature is broken. The app says in green "This store delivers to your location." But then at checkout it stops and says in red "This store does not deliver to your location." Alright, guess I'll just go to another provider.

Continue to have nothing but problems with the app. Worse after each update. The moment I opened the app this morning to use my coupons, it showed I was logged in, then immediately displayed the log in screen. The app keeps logging me out and requires me to log in each and every time I open the app. It opens, showing I'm logged in, then refreshes and requires me to sign in. A time consuming hassle. So I go elsewhere.

I love Ace Hardware but just generally unhappy with this app. Privacy issues and cookie settings, combined with a repeated failure to successfully consolidate rewards accounts make it almost impossible to use. Even browser access to Ace Hardware dot com is a challenge unless I turn off privacy and tracking settings. It's just not worth the $5 in rewards to sign up. The number of spam promotional notifications is ridiculous. There is a place where I've turned them off but they still send them.

The New app - It's bad, half of screen used for menu/info/filter bars. Can now filter just in store-yay. Min info & pics on items. & like a bad used car salesman, hounds for rewards sign up & location despite already knowing my zip. I use it to see if store, which is 20+min away, has a product I want. Slow unless you have hi speed connection, good luck if you are rural, uses a lot of memory, way more than other apps.

6 months later, still can't sign in. For how hard they push the app, you'd think it would at least work! It works for browsing, but unable to sign in to my existing account. "There was an issue processing your request." Still hoping for the the $5 bonus for linking my account. Guess I'll try again in another 6 months, heh. :/ (Tried clearing cache, data. No go.)
