AccuWeather is an “OK” app but with the just announced increase in price it’s not worth the cost. There are far too many free apps and websites that provide the same level of weather related data and features. For this reason I just cancelled my subscription. It’s not about the money but more about what am I getting in exchange.

This seems to be the most accurate weather app. Therefore, they live up to their name. It has good radar, past and future. The only thing I wish they would change is the temperature wheel you see first. It has the temp there and "real feel" but I wish it was color coded, like a heat map. It should show orange to red bc of the heat. But it shows an ice blue... I wish it was that cool.

Prior to the latest update, the app worked just okay. Not great, not poorly, just okay. I've been using the app for two or three years now. I've been subscribed to their ″premium ad-free″ experience. Since the last update, it now comes with ads. The accuracy of their predictions and reporting has slipped pretty reasonably, too. But most importantly, ads. They bombard me with ads to upgrade to ″PREMIUM+″. I will upgrade to a different app before I do that. If it's not fixed soon, I'm uninstalling

Well it worked at first, but now it only loads about half of what is on the page. I've deleted the app and reloaded it to see if that helps. Unfortunately it didn't help. I'm not impressed. Update: I tried to go to the form they claim they listed below, but couldn't find it. I even copied the address and entered in and got Google play store. I am so done with this garbage. It doesn't work and I guess never will. Update #2: I uninstalled and hours later reinstalled it. Still the same issues

Forced Premier+ ads now appearing even though already a paid customer. If these aren't removed soon, moving to another app as this is now ridiculous! Many minor fixes since the complete overhaul, but Current Dark widget still does not keep up with the current forecast. Please add the ability to manually set sync time, and add gear button to top right of Current Dark widget, instead of Refresh button. Otherwise, still the most Accurate weather and radar with awesome Minute Cast.

I have used AccuWeather for at least ten years now and I have always loved how good the radar was and how accurate the rain timer was. I'm just not happy with how slow it has been loading the past few months. It's like it's struggling to load and ad and gets stuck just checking the daily weather. I have tried everything from reinstalling deleting data and a new phone but it's the app.

The app provides a lot of very useful data, thoughtfully laid out, and almost always provides a way to dig even deeper into the what you want. The problem is their drive to capture ever more of the almighty $$$ while giving you info that accessible (albeit less well done) in a multitude of other ways. I don't mind paying for a solid product but they not only now bumped it to $13yr JUST to remove adds and want double that to get critical notifications!

This version has much better visuals than the previous AccuWeather app, but as a whole the experience is worse. A couple of frustrating issues right now. 1. Looking up weather in a new location will just auto pick the first location in the drop down list. 2. The radar image is choppy and less fluid than the previous version. Also, most of the time the radar map location used is based on your geo location, and not the location selected at the top of the app.

I really like this app. When support for my favorite local wx app ended, I looked at highly rated apps for a replacement, and AccuWeather came out way on top. Thoughtfully designed with clear, well organized data, intuitive navigation, and choices of display options. Best of all, crucial data is prominent, with the option to display and dismiss additional detail. The result is uncluttered and easy to read.

Used to love this app, I still use it repeatedly, but I don't use it for reliability. When my power went out with the threat of a tornado in the area, what do I get when I try to see the weather and track it on the radar? Ads. And then crashes. Then more ads all while panicking. If you're going to push full screen ads, maybe you should code it when there aren't severe threats and warnings in the vicinity. Turned something great into every cheap mobile game on the market.

I'm currently looking to move away from AccuWeather. I've been very happy with this so for many years and once been a faithful user. I like the interface, I like most of the notifications, accuracy is as good as any of the other weather apps or there. However, more features seem to be moving to the premium version and frankly the last few updates seem to be hearing the wrong direction.

I paid to get the ad-free version; it worked for a short time, and then, for no apparent reason, everything reverted back to the free version, with worse pop-up ads than ever. I contacted customer service; they told me to delete and re-install the app. That did nothing. They said it could be that my phone was an "older" model, but after getting a new Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the "glitch" persists. I would love to ditch the app entirely, but the actual weather aspect is accurate for my area.

Used to be my go to, but like many other apps, the ads are over the top. I can deal with ads littering the app as I search for the actual WEATHER DATA I'm looking for, but when I'm slammed numerous times every single day with full screen Volvo ads, that's a bridge too far. Yeah, I know they want to make it so intrusive you pay for ad free, but nope. I'm deleting this once good app. Now just trash and junk. Guess there's actual WEATHER in there but I'm not wasting time trying to find it.

Update: 5/2024x2, uninstalled and renistalled. Still isn't working. I've used this app since 2016. In all this time this app has been incredible. Doesn't matter where I travel to, whether here in the states, the Caribbean or Central America it's been incredibly accurate. However, the most recent update broke something. I don't get tornado warnings, the maps won't load. I'll see the time slider moving but map options fail to load. Pls return to the previous.

Latest free edition leaves out a ton of ads. Nice looking and easy to use. But it's AccuWeather. I regularly checked CURRENT conditions in the old app and they were almost always wrong about everything, then they would change their "forecasts" AND "current" details afterwards. They've continued that behavior. And now their animated weather map fails to load even the current frame until you rewind to the beginning and hit play just to get a blurry mess in almost every frame. But, free is free.

Seems to be more accurate than most other weather apps. Like today, it's raining, and this app shows it's raining, while others are showing that it's clear, and not raining.🙄 I would give it 5 stars, if they would have satellite view in the layers settings. That way the terrain would be shown, and look a little more natural, instead of a white backdrop.

I cant change my place. I have to go in and ask for it from my list of favs every time. Open screen only shows current temp, I have to open another for the days forcast. I don't like it enough, I am hard pressed to think of something I do like. I guess I would say I DO like that I can have a favorites list because we live/work in 3 different states

I purchased Premium, years ago, so I wouldn't see any ads. Now, you're telling me I have to pay $1.99/month not to see them, again? Plus, it'll allow me to see tax-payer funded government alerts & 90 day weather guesses (more than 7 is ridiculous and inaccurate)? What kind of scam is that? I don't have the free app, unless you're telling me my paid for version is no longer any good? Make a separate app if you want more $$$$. Fix our paid version back to what it was.

Predictions are rarely accurate; it's easier and less effortful to simply look outside, flip a coin, cast chicken bones, etc. As of a few days ago, despite my having paid the one-off fee for ad-free usage, the app now stuffs ads for a new "premium+" on a subscription basis. It seems clear that an idiot who eked out a business degree decided that aggressive monetization was the best way to milk an already poor product. I'll be looking for alternatives -- I suggest you, the reader, do the same.

Now, despite my having previously purchased the premium version, I get ads at the top of the hourly display recommending upgrading to their monthly premium+ subscription. Waste of screen space. Considering ditching AccuWeather altogether despite my premium purchase. At least they changed where the "last used" hourly display sticks (the list version is better than the graph version; shows more info at a glance and doesn't require a monthly subscription to get to all the data).
