It is a great app like any other retail services. Only issue is when I order online and it shows "Pick up Today" the order won't be ready until the next day or longer (the orders that has 30+ or even 100+ orders should give out an example of how long the order will be ready instead of giving out an update later on that it'll be ready from between the day of purchase and a week after.)

I know this doesn't have to do with the app (or maybe it does idk) but I can't seem to get support any other way. They continually send the wrong item/color. When you ask what you can do to get the correct item, they tell you to keep returning and keep ordering the same item. Or that it's too late to change my order when my order isn't wrong but the item they keep sending is wrong.

The app is easy to use, but adding a payment method was a pain. I had to add and save my debit card for future use before it would let me add the Academy credit card to save my 5%. It also took me several tries to figure out you can't use the auto populated home address that pops up. You must hand type your entire address and zip for it to take the debit card. If I can't use it, don't let the app auto populate it. Very frustrating when there is limited stock and you're trying to beat the clock.

This app is very frustrating.. Never has it once let me make a purchase online.. I have always ended up having to travel over a hour and half (closest one) just to make a purchase and then more than half the time the product isn't there anymore. I was even in the store and tried to order some cleats and had customer service help me and they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't let me through the app..

Had issues with the app the entire time I had it. Various things would crash the app (like trying to view details on products or changing the filter settings) decided I would uninstall and reinstall to see if that might fix some issues... Now it doesn't load past the login screen, it doesn't freeze or crash there but it doesn't load past that. Seriously disappointing as far as app quality goes, guess I'll just do my online shopping with my Amazon app 😢😢

Update: Still awful! Decided to install again and see if it was fixed. Same issues. This is on latest version of android too. Filters do not allow you to scroll....have to force close. Whats the deal guys...no QA dept? Awful. This app always has issues. Can't close without force closing. Can't scroll through filters. Need to start over guys or get new developers.

This app is terrible and time-consuming! I shouldn't have to reset my filters EVERY TIME I click on a product for a closer look/more information! The filters aren't even accurate to BEGIN with! Everything- every single thing- was sold out or out of stock. Uninstalling and unsubscribing from the waste of time emails too. I'll stick to Dick's Sporting Goods. At least THEY have items in stock and will price match as well. Good riddance.

UPDATE: Changing to 5 star for prompt response from Academy and thank you for looking into this. Will update review when resolved. App is crashing every time I open. App was up to date, uninstalled and reinstalled, phone is up to date. There is something wrong within the app I think. I get an error saying something went wrong with location services but location services are on and location services are turned on within the phone as well. Nor sure if anyone else is experiencing this.

App sucks big time! I was doing my shopping,adding items to my cart,found alot of good deals to. But when I go to check out,app just crashes and keeps telling me to try back later. It won't allow me to edit my cart,can't remove items that I changed my mind on,or found a better deal on. I have repeatedly logged out,logged back in,and nothing! Refreshed the browser everything! Still nothing. Guess I gotta do my x-mas shopping with the competitors this year

This problem was never fixed so I no longer use the app, I have gone back to using a browser. (11/16/22) I love using the app to shop...except for 1 aspect which is MADDENING. When shopping & have added filters (size, gender, deals, etc), if you click on an item to look at it & then use your phone BACK button at the bottom of the screen (an unbreakable habit) instead of the back arrow in the app at the top of the screen, all filters get cleared & have to all be entered again. So frustrating!

Often freezes up, and search filters are not easily selected. Regularly shows items that are no longer available or discontinued, but "out of stock" filter will remove some items that are available. The app shows various items as "heavy" or as "firearm/ammunition" when its something like a digital scale that weighs less than 15lbs and is less than 12×12 inches, but because its RATED for 330lb limit, it doesnt qualify for free shipping or discounts. Has ability to be solid, but annoying to use.

Unbelievably slow. Frustratingly slow. In fact, it's slower than the website, which is at a snail's pace. What's the point of hide out of stock and using filters if the app doesn't apply them? Can't search my local stores inventory until you click on an item. This app is useless if you want anything other than ship to home. EDIT Speed of the app is better, not great, but better. The filter aspect is still trash. Won't scroll down through filter selections and hide out of stock still useless.

App loads everything slowly making it frustrating to navigate anywhere. Less search features to navigate an area compared to the website itself. If you click on an item you might be interested in, there's a chance when you go back to the search results that it will take you to the top of the results making it frustrating to use. There's a good foundation and it just needs better optimization.

First let me say Its about time they finally made an app. Better late than never I suppose. Pros: app is well organized, user friendly and intuitive interface. Great product selection. Cons: There is no "remember me" feature. Any time you close the app you have to relog into your account. Not hard but very tedious and annoying. It doesnt even remember your email address which is a basic feature on all apps now days. Also they are VERY pushy about getting you to sign up for a credit card

I like the app a lot, but searching for specific sports items is quite difficult. There's no way to search based on sports or other categories, which means you can't search for specific sports. Also, unless you know the name of the item you're looking for, if you search by entering the kind of item you're looking for, the results come back with things that are completely unrelated. If they fix this function, it would get 5 stars. Search could be an overall limitation, rather than an app limit.

Love academy as my favorite hunting supplies store. I do have an issue with the app though. That is the page gets stuck from time to time but a lot more frequent lately. You go to few an item and sometimes when you get done looking at the item all the back buttons (the phone's and app's) don't work and you're stuck on the page. You have to close the app completely.

Fix the back button function. When I click on a product while scrolling, it doesn't allow me to exit back to the search results. I have to start over, and it's annoying. I have skipped 3 purchases now and used Bass Pro Shop instead.. This has been a problem everyone has complained about for at least two years now. I'm surprised your app is still being used.

App is borderline useless. Trying to find things, and even when I toggle to hide out of stock, it still shows out of stock items. Clicking an item to look at, results in a 10-15 wait as it tries to access the page. Slow, unresponsive, and lack of useful filters makes it essentially useless

I enjoy the app, but I am having the same problem as many here. The app will navigate to items fine but if your doing even a moderate amount of browsing you will get stuck on a screen and be unable to go back to the search or multi-item screen. For me this has been every 5-6 items. Have re-installed and cleared cache.

Can ya'll please fix the issue when selecting a different sorting type it bypasses your search and just sorts the whole catalog of the store. App is useless if I can't sort the specific items i want. It's been over a year already. Terrible app. 5/24/24- App keeps getting worse, the search bar is basically just a suggestion. It always just loads the whole inventory, defeats the purpose of a specified search.
