The rating is not for the quality of the app itself but for the following reasons. I get notifications of publications mentions by someone who has the same name as me and has around 1750 mentions. The standard email says they are trying to improve their notifications and give several options if you click the "this is not me" link which I use every time. I can't even see the notifications without paying. I have tried using the contact us link to no avail. Absolutely fed up with it!

Great app. Just one thing though; when trying to highlight text the highlighter tool does not show up and I have to close the paper and reopen it. Other than that small little thing it's an amazing app that I use just to get a better understanding of academic writing and if I can get something that relates to what I am studying even better!

Used to work fine, but the last few weeks I can not open articles sent via my email from Academia. The App keeps closing before opening the article. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but it still does the same thing, so, I've just uninstalled the app. Can't be bothered to struggle with Apps that don't work.

Buggy right now. Love that you can translate documents, but unhappy that illustrations are removed once translated. Needs to be better.

I had a problem, pointed out what was happening, received notice they were working on it, and the app was working in less than 24 hours. It is a great app!

Latest version (1.54.10) crashes on both of my devices when loading a pdf (Android 14, Oppo A77s and S23 Ultra). Please fix. PS: It's working now with the latest update.

Be careful with your payment info, I was charged a yearly sub without me agreeing to it, be careful. Great app overall.

There seems to be a bug with this recent (Aug 11) update. It keeps crashing when I open papers or search for papers. The app is great, and I use it often. Please fix this issue.

Advertisers that it gives you scholarly articles, but they are only articles that individuals have uploaded. Forces me to have to upload my own papers just to get access to others. The articles are not peer reviewed! Nor are they from verified research papers that people have submitted to scholarly journals! Articles are not trustworthy to be written by experts! Many of them were written by high school students!!!

For the works I prefer to read, according to my preferences, the Academia.education app is the best by far! I feel that they have something for everyone to enjoy, to satisfy one's reading interests and/or, their discoveries. I'm glad I checked them out and invite any literary reader to get this app. I believe you'll be very glad you did.

I am very impressed both with the availability and the nature of the information provided and this is only time I've ever felt the need to give back what has been given to me. If you're engaged in research as much as i am then this offers an invaluable wealth of informatiom I've found nowhere else and the best part is while i chose the premium option it was only for the advanced search option only. The free version doesn't restrict or limit the average user in any way. Highly recomonded.

Great resource! Despite some minor bugs from time to time, it is worthy of 5 stars. It's become an indispensible go-to resource for me, when researching anything. Especially good for finding material related to archaeological/socio-anthropological discoveries recent years - as well as hypothetical, observational, and experimental sort of content from a variety of authors. Good stuff!

Requires $100 for premium for the year with no monthly subscription model available. Makes this difficult to access for the average person who may have $10-15/month to spare to further their education but doesn't have $100 to throw at something 'non-essential'. Would have subscribed. Doesn't even offer a 7 day free trial at the very minimum before committing to $98 annual fee. Pass.
