The newest update is so disappointing!! I have had this game for years, and bought multiple puzzle packs, but this newest update will have me uninstalling. The layout and graphics looks so childish and cheap! This was a perfect, simple word game, and now it looks like something thrown together as a cash grab that could be discontinued overnight; so generic and uninteresting. Such a shame.

Horrible update. I have purchased all the hard and impossible puzzle packs throughout the years. It's always been a nice game to play while waiting in line etc. Or while killing time waiting for an appointment to show up. I am uninstalling and reinstalling the last version from backup off a newer tablet. And definitely not installing this update. This was an app everyone I know liked and would purchase Xtra puzzle packs for. At least give an option to revert to the basic UI for adults.

I've played this game for years always on any new phone. This update is horrible. For several reasons, the look.. now no puzzles on the free version at all barely. I lost all previous packs I'd had and even ones I completed during my all access pass, hints for money now? And ads added, it's a complete turn for more money. Another dev greedy money hungry squeezing all they can, ruining a great game in the process always happens eventually. Luckily there's always a new one to replace the broken.

Love it! Ads are not an issue. Good clues. Not too easy, not too difficult. Gives me a good sense of accomplishment with each puzzle I solve. Highly recommend! Update. I still love this game and play it daily but I am SICK OF THE PANDORA AD! So repitious! It's the same exact ad in between every game and there are 10 games. Same ad, every game, every day. Ugh!

I have been playing this game for 7 years. My favorite. They just updated it and I had to uninstall it. They lost the zoom mode, made it look slick (the version displayed on Google Play is not the updated version), no option to revert to classic mode, app is hanging constantly like it doesn't recognize button presses, it's a mess.

I really miss the old layout. I appreciate them trying to update it and create something special, but I think a lot of us who played religiously really enjoyed the simplicity and nostalgia of the old look. I think the new look seems maybe a little childish and bubbly in comparison. The only thing I prefer on the new version is the color scheme- I do prefer white text on the black background over the green text that used to come with the black background.

I love this game and have installed it on several devices. However, since they have a full-screen pop-up that asks for your permission to allow them to collect your personal data 'for the purpose of providing more relevant ad experiences', you can't get past that screen without either agreeing or disagreeing. So I selected "disagree to all", and the next thing I know I get an email saying that I gave permission for them to collect my information! I clearly did not. Uninstalled.

This game is very addicting and just the right level of challenging! They've redesigned it so that it's more visually attractive. 👍🏼 The Ads, however are EXCRUCIATINGLY long, ridiculous, and mostly impossible to X out of and they're frequent. 😕 I did pay the 99 cents per month to eliminate the ads but decided to save money. Looks like I'm going to go back to paying.

This company needs to be more lenient and stop this "if you really want to play more games, you have to pay up" attitude. You're limited to just one new game at midnight each day. It's nothing more than greed. Update: They have change the format from one puzzle to five puzzles and included now more ads. Happy with the fact that ads don't have to timeout in order to play. Wait a few seconds and an option will appear across the top in order to stop ad from continuing. Some ads the user is capable of just cancelling outright. Great improvement over previous versions.

Oof. Horrible redesign. 5-star review down to a 1-star review. I've been playing since this game was released and have been an all access subscriber for as long as I can remember. With this goofy, childish redesign, the removal of the ability to choose puzzle packs by theme and difficulty or sort completed puzzle packs separately, and the thoughtless, clunky navigation, today is the day I unsubscribe and uninstall, after all these years. Utter disappointment.

Look at how they massacred my boy... 2 stars because it's still a fun game, but this new UI is terrible. The old design was fine. It was simple, familiar, and easy to navigate. After briefly using the app after updating, I downgraded back to an older version and I would suggest others do the same. Anything before version 7.* and you'll be good.

I had previously rated this app at FIVE stars. I am now downgrading to TWO. Why? The new version does not always load. The Blue progress bar will often not make it to full and it hangs. Often when it does appear to load, I still can't get to the puzzles. I have to close it multiple times and relaunch to get it to work. The new look-and-feel is horrendous, almost like they targeted kids under 10. But except for the easiest of puzzles, this is an adult game. Boo! And HISS!! to your upgrade!!

Down to 2 stars. I'm finding the "new and improved" version of this wonderful game leaves much to be desired. Everything from the start-up to playing my extra sets of games sooooo sloooow. Sometimes I click several times thinking I might not have clicked right because nothing comes up. Add to that the problem I have had lately with the first one or two mini-games shutting the app down completely is so frustrating! I pay for this and am not getting a good experience for my money.

What just happened to my favorite game?? I loved the simple, intuitive, interface you had before. Can't pick the word you want hint on. The playing screen is now massive with a calendar icon at the top right that doesn't seem to do anything when I click on it. Automatically removing a word is also disappointing...takes the fun out of when you mispell and add too many words. The only thing I like about this new interface is the night mode option, which is better than the black/green in old style

Not enjoyable anymore. it was great before i updated. i hadn't ever updated and it was fun. why? ads were unobtrusive. now they take too long. then there are multiple ads consecutively. each holding you hostage. your excessive ads are just pure greed. after over a decade of enjoyment, I'm uninstalling. i get ads are important. the ads that work are the ones that are quick and/or that show time left...etc. So very disappointed.

THIS is the word game every device (phones & tablets) should have on it. Not only because the game is a simple yet challenging brain activity, and not only because the developers are some of the most responsive out there (both in communications and in updates), but because of the variety of subject matter and level difficulty. Also, their other games have fun & creative play with words as well. Originally from Amazon apps, these games have matured and increased in value since my first purchase.

This was fun until they couldn't get the ads out of the paid all access. I spent over 2 months working with their support, at least when they would reply to me. They finally stopped replying. I filed a complaint with Google with no action. I tried to play today, with the paid version, and have been interrupted 7 times within 7 puzzles with ads. Do not pay for a service that says they remove ads and then don't. It was finally until around February 2024. Unfortunately can't 0 stars.
