50 US States - American Quiz

September 11, 2025

More About 50 US States - American Quiz

Do you know where Vermont is located? What city is the capital of Wisconsin? In this game, you will find all 50 states of the United States of America! All 50 state capital cities! All state flags and outline maps! From New England and the Great Lakes to the California coast and the Alaska wilderness!
You can learn states of the Northeast (for example, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Jersey), then move to the Midwest where you find Ohio, Illinois, South Dakota, etc. Continue with states of the South from Alabama and North Carolina to Texas. And finish with the West: states such as Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and others.

Questions are divided into six groups:
1) Guess the name or the postal abbreviation of the state highlighted on the US map (for example, LA is for Louisiana; OK is for Oklahoma).
2) Spell the names of state capitals (e.g. Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah; Lincoln is the capital of Nebraska).
3) Recognize the state by its geographical borders.
4) A game about state flags.
5) Dates of admission to the Union: from the First State–Delaware (December 7, 1787)–to the 50th state Hawaii joined on August 21, 1959.
6) State nicknames: famous like “Sunshine State” for Florida or “The Grand Canyon State” for Arizona; and less-known such as “Land of Enchantment” for New Mexico or “Mountain State” for West Virginia.

In each group, you can choose several game modes:
* Spelling quizzes (easy and hard).
* Multiple-choice questions (with 4 or 6 answer options). It’s important to remember that you have only 3 lives.
* Time game (give as many answers as you can in 1 minute) - give more than 25 correct answers to win a star.
Two learning tools:
* Flashcards - browse information about each state without guessing.
* Table of all U.S. states.

Additional levels can be downloaded (Android 5.0 and higher):
- US Cities (the pictures of 50 most famous American cities: from Philadelphia to San Diego, from Miami to Seattle).
- State Capitol Buildings (52 photos, including Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico).
- National Parks: photos of all 63 parks from Grand Canyon and Shenandoah to Yosemite and Yellowstone. Demonstrate your knowledge of the American wilderness and prepare for new adventures!

Besides American English, the app is translated into Spanish and 14 other languages.
Advertisements can be removed by an in-app purchase.

It is a great educational game for everyone interested in the geography of the United States of America. Guess the states where you’ve been and learn about states you will visit in the future. Find the capital and the flag of each state!

Fantastic app, especially for an uber nerd like me! It's interesting to learn where the states are situated in America. The only bad thing I'll say is that it's very addictive! Download it and you won't be disappointed! 👍🏻

I love it it helps me as a 7th grader who is very stupid and don't know my states but I learned every I needed to know in a week and it's free I would love to see more games like this but one thing I wish they could have done better is help teach it and give tips like Florida looks like a 🔫

This is an exceptional game for young people who want to find out the best way to remember the names of capitals of states because they can just play the game over and over again until they get it memorized. I think the way to remember which state is which is to continually play this game also.

The ads are annoying because they block 1/3 of the app and closing them doesn't work. The app itself is not too bad. I'm not of fan running out of chances but I guess they do that to TRY and make it fun.

Great way to learn or review a multitude of info. I started playing this in my 60s. I have memorized so much. The game makes it easy and fun!

I love this app EXCEPT... I was using the flashcards before and for the state maps they'd show a card and you'd have to guess the state. Just now when using the flashcards it would show a state name. I guess I'm supposed to picture the flag in my head. I get it, but I don't like it. I guess you can't please everyone. I was going to give 4 stars until I realized it really is a great app and I am annoyed by only getting the name of the state but it's still a great app all in all.

Excellent. Precise. Entertaining. Easy to understand. Flashcards are somewhat nonsensical. Wish the FLAGS were a bit larger, or could be enlarged. Every parent should download this app onto their child's device. Grade: A+

Great app for practice for my 5th grader... until a super inappropriate ad popped up about another game that has absolutely nothing to do with geography and everything to do with finding your husband in bed with someone else... seriously. Since this is an app that kids would be using I'm really bothered by this.

Simple, yet versatile and quite educational. I don't know how ubtrusive the ads are, as I have a system-wide adblocker, but I paid for 'remove ads' anyway to support the developer, because the app is definitely worth it!

Exactly what you want it to be. Ads, sure, but the author should get paid and it's only $2 to remove if desired. If you've got a kid needing to learn this for school, this is faster and cheaper than flashcards.

Excellent app, just what I was looking for. The format makes it great for learning where each state is and also has capitals, flags etc... Edit: 7 years later and I still use it when I need to brush up, perfect for what I need.

In short. I had 2-3 days before my test on all 50 states and then Capitals were bonus points. I just reviewed the app over and over for the states and I learned then very quickly. Also even if the Capitols are bonus points, it will still help you learn the states due to the matching of multiple choice. I would say for the Capitols the multiple choice was the most helpful for my situation. Overall helped a lot although, I think a very hard mode would be nice. Such as having to spell out the capital name correctly without the help of a word bank. Thanks!

Really useful. The drawings are very clear, which makes it easy to learn the shapes. I wish we could have the quiz arrange by, for example, alphabetical or by the date they joined the union, etc. Would double up on the learning.

I think the app is good for learning about the history of states and facts about the states, but it got boring quickly. The game is informative, I'll give it that, but really its not that appealing to make you keep on playing it. I'm unstalling it, srry. I would recommend this game to someone who is really fanscinated by history and likes challenges.

I absolutely love this app as it is fun and educational as well as challenging. I had been searching for an app that would help me to learn to identify the states. I am now able to recognize all of the US states by their shape/location (something I've always wanted but never got around to), and I've also learned their respective capitals, flags and nicknames. This would have been very useful during my school years if it had been available. I'm looking forward to more fun learning. Great App!!!!!

Good with the potential of being great. You got to add an option to skip Ad at the end of each quiz after the commercial plays for so long other than that it'd be perfect just having to close the app entirely bc the Ad is so GIGANTIC LOUD & ANNOYING then getting distracted off what I was even doing in the 1st place really sucks.

This app is brilliant. I learned all of the states and where they were in less than 2 days, I learned the flags in about the same time, and I know the postal abbreviations. It gives you everything you need. I've just gone over the state nicknames and got all of them with only one mistake after the first attempt. This app has a way of making things stick. It's modest too, not too many adverts, and you can rate it if you Want to, it doesn't badger on about it. It's all you could ask for in an app.

Excellent game. I've learned properly all the us states in 1 day. Can do it with no options to chose from now. Some ads yes but it's free so what you expect. Definitely worth downloading if you want to learn the states. Different levels also. Would be great if they named a state at the top and you had to click on the correct one with a pin, then once done it could be a different colour until the map is full. Just a suggestion.

Great little app to easily and painlessly learn state capitals. I recommend this for children and adults! Play with friends by taking turns to see who does better. Ad details: Ad banner at the bottom and short 5 second ads every 20-30 questions or so (just my guess). I appreciate that the ads are short and painless. No in-app purchases. No account or subscription necessary. Yeah! Thank you Mr. Developer! Please keep giving us more great little educational apps!
