More About 3DMark — The Gamer's Benchmark

3DMark is a popular benchmarking app that helps you test and compare the performance of your smartphone and tablet.
Please note our latest benchmark 3DMark Solar Bay, will only run on very new Android devices with Vulkan Ray Tracing support.

3DMark benchmarks the GPU and CPU performance of your device. At the end of the test, you get a score, which you can use to compare models. But 3DMark also gives you so much more.

More than a score
3DMark is designed around data-driven stories that help you learn more about your smartphone and tablet. With its unique charts, lists and rankings, 3DMark gives you unrivaled insights into the performance of your device.

• Compare your score with others from the same model.
• Compare your device’s performance with other popular models.
• See how your device’s performance changes with each OS update.
• Discover the devices that perform consistently without slowing down.
• Search, filter and sort our lists to compare the latest mobile devices.

Best benchmark for your device
When you open the app, 3DMark will recommend the best benchmark for your device. To save storage space and minimize download times, you can choose which tests you want to install.

Run 3DMark Solar Bay to compare the latest Android devices that support for gaming with real-time ray tracing. Ray tracing is a new technology in Android games that is used to produce far more realistic lighting.

3DMark Solar Bay is our latest and most demanding test for compatible Android devices. It has three sections with increasingly higher ray tracing workloads, helping you understand how enabling ray tracing will affect your device’s gaming performance.

Run 3DMark Wild Life to compare new Android devices from Google, Huawei, LG, OnePlus, Oppo, Motorola, Samsung, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi and other manufacturers with the latest iPhone and iPad models.

3DMark Wild Life Extreme is a new test that sets a high bar for the next generation of Android devices. Don’t be surprised by low frame rates as this test is too heavy for many current phones and tablets.

3DMark Solar Bay, Wild Life, and Wild Life Extreme offer two ways to test your device: a quick benchmark that tests instant performance and a longer stress test that shows how your device performs under longer periods of heavy load.

Choose Sling Shot or Sling Shot Extreme benchmarks to compare low- to mid-range Android devices with older iPhone and iPad models.

Choose your next phone the easy way
With in-app performance data for thousands of devices, it is easy to find and compare the best smartphones and tablets with 3DMark. Search, filter and sort the in-app rankings to compare the latest Android and iOS devices.

The UI of the app is very simple and easy to use. One thing I really like about the app is that it lets you compare your phone's performance with other phones and thats really good. Overall the app is pretty amazing, i would give this app a full five stars rating if there was a CPU and GPU usage icon.

Last time review was I can't push the "show more device device" button, "report unknown device" button and "report missing or incorrect device data" button around 2013 😅, I forgot this app has evolved so much in past 10 years. Well at least in 2023 I've tried run it again, and working well detected my device 👍🏻

Seems to work well. I get a different score every time I run this app tho, even when I do tests back to back. It's useful to have to get an idea of what your device is capable of but I'm not 100% sure how accurate it is. I'm not even sure what half of the scores mean. I wish the developer would add some kind of index to explain what each score means to allow me an understanding of exactly what it is doing.

Best phone benchmarks. You can download the desired benchmark mode in the app according to your phone's capabilities or you can try all of them so you can know your phone score in those modes. Compare up to 5 phones based on different benchmarking modes. Keep in mind some modes are heavy so mid-range phones will probably get stuttering performance

allowed me to fix my phone. thanks to my understanding of CPUs and GPUs I was able to use this to narrow down the issue that my phone was facing. FYI results very greatly based on temp, sd % filled, etc. oh lost a star for missing my phone's exact type Moto z force. The Moto z force and the Moto z are 2 different phones. the force has higher specs and other pricey additions over the Moto z. After I fixed my phone I was placed on the 99th percentile, due to the phone listing as a regular Moto z.

Sling shot reliably crashes (freezes) after it finished. Not sure why that is, maybe compatibility issues... Revision : Also like others have said, it actually slows down your phone for some reason... I only installed the first test and it was using 800mb.. That tells me MEMORY LEAK simply. Also the app just keeps crashing now... 1 star would give 0 if possible

Been using this app for years now. Just ran my Galaxy S10 for the first time and got some great numbers back. This thing ran these demos with no problems and very smooth. I love the Galaxy S line of phones its all I've used the last 10 yrs. I'll uninstall this app probably but my next new device I'll run it again and again.

Worked perfect for me, I dont understand why so many people give 1 star. I think a lot of people dont understand what a benchmark is and shouldnt have downloaded this in the first place. This doesnt help your device run faster, it simply shows your systems current performance. And to the people who said its inaccurate because it changes when you use it over and over, this is known to happen with pretty much all phones. When you use your phone longer, the performance goes down until cooled down.

I haven't found a better way to measure & compare mobile device performance. If I were to do one thing, I would state the difference between Extreme and Extreme Unlimited with the Slingshot tests.

Benchmarking without bloatware, 3DMark the finest of them all. I have a problem with SlingShot and SlingShot Extreme causing the app to crash every time I try to run the test. I've sent multiple crash reports using the feedback system. I'm looking forward to updates to solve this issue with my ZenFone Max Pro M1

Good to test your phone! Also a note to the developers, thank you for being responsive with human responses when people post reviews of issues and bugs and you guys get right on it. Great support and has been my go to benchmark for years. Also, some input, can some in-benchmark metrics like CPU temp, GPU load, CPU load as well during bench? That would be a nifty addition and show users how hot their phones get and how much load is being utilized. Thanks again for your continued commitment devs

Awful user experience. I started slingshot test on my Samsung S7. The app played a video of a space ship, which I left running for a few minutes but it was still unclear if that was the test or ad. Eventually I pressed go back. The next screen showed please wait, test running. I left that running for 5 minutes, but still nothing. I do not know if it hung or I should have left it running longer, no progress bar. Maybe this release is broken? Or does not work on Samsung S7?

the best test I found so far. Works even with my 5 years old galaxy note 3. Antutu just crashed... And list and comparison of other phone is just amazing. I tried some other benchmarks and their list was pathetic often showing manufacture name instead of market name and many models seemed to missing. So this benchmark is far ahead of 4 benchmark I tested. Good job. Thank you. Maybe I would like if there is also separate RAM test. And size could be smaller. But awesome thx!

Great app. But why only 4 star? Cos there is no enough info to compare with other devices, only with the most modern phones. It is too easy to give the user the chance to compare with other phones since there are thousands of ppl using this app, so there is no need to spend any effort to do so because the app can collect this info like phones brand, cpu info, gpu ...etc automatically then build a good database for the users, which may contain not only the score, but also all the other phone's i

Works as intended. It really gauges your GPU's ability to render. My device have SD860 SoC with Adreno 640 on it. Scored 3545 in 3dmark Wild Life. Spoofed device name to ROG Phone 3, still scores the same. Best tool to really push phone's GPU to the limit. Also, the clip used in Wild Life looks so amazing, almost PC quality. Loved it

It's a benchmark that isn't quite able to benchmark modern phones. What do I mean by this? Well most modern flagship phones (2023) have screen refresh rates higher than 60hz, 3DMark doesn't utilize these higher refresh rates. They may say "we use higher resolutions to address this" but that just overloads the framebuffer (GPU Memory) and can limit the true performance. The only thing that addresses this is maybr the "unlimited" tests.

I bought this phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S last year August and downloaded the app, worked fine and can run all tests with accurate results but this time when I reinstalled it, it just says "unable to connect to UL servers." My wifi connection is even stable and runs on 110mb/s so I don't know why this app won't "connect." Tried uninstalling and reinstalling a lot of times but to no avail. I don't know why this app worked for my phone last year but this year it can't even start nor download tests

Practically unusable on Android TV (tested on 2015 Sony Bravia TV and Xiaomi Mibox 3) because the test selection interface relies on swiping, an OS feature that is not available on most devices. Using a mouse should resolve the problem, but doesn't, as "mouse swiping" causes the UI to get stuck at which point it crashes back to the launcher. Edit: I've found it's possible to workaround the problem by connecting a game controller and using the shoulder buttons to access the test selection menu. I have revised my 1-star rating to reflect this.

Updated review: Turns out it's device model specific issue and very little that they can do. But are still helping me side load it. Giving them 5 stars because of the support and otherwise the app works flawlessly on other devices. Old review: Says Connection Error on Poco X2. They asked me to email support but they never replied, wasting my time further.
