The ad placement is ridiculous. I'm fine with apps adding ads here and there especially when it's free like this game. The problem with this one is that the ads start running while you are actively playing. Before an ad would come up when you lost. When the ad runs while you are playing it slows down and makes the game clunky to play.

I've been playing this game every day but suddenly, today, the game screen has ZOOMED IN to the point where there's a whole column I can't see. Needless to say, I can't continue to play this way. I have fiddled with every setting I can think of to fix this, un/re installed, and restarted my phone. I've seen replies to other reviews like this and they are not the only ones having this issue. Please fix this bug so that o can give the 5 stars this app should have.

I love this game, but they added ads. Every single time you lose there is a either an ad with a fake x, or a 30 second long unskipable one. Any users of this app, please download the unofficial ad free version. Plus, some times the ads make the game crash, and the developers don't actually respond to any reviews. They just have a bot that says "we switched to the prior ad setup." I can guarantee you that a bot will respond to this saying that. Because of this, I am uninstalling.

Gameplay is 5/5 and I absolutely love the lack of ads but I've had the app for maybe 2 weeks and suddenly it won't stop glitching out and then won't open. Initially fixed with uninstall and reinstall, but now it freezes within a minute. Uninstalled permanently. Edit: Developer contacted me quickly after review with instructions to clear game cache. On Android I went to Settings > Apps > 2048 (app must be installed) > Storage. Updating review to 5 stars, thank you!

New owners updated this and made it less responsive and full of ads with buttons that are too small to click through. Devs are rude in their responses

Simple and fun and no ads between games. What more do you want from a free game? Edit: I have no idea what happened but the game is unplayable now. It has zoomed in for some reason and there seems to be no way to change it. I even uninstalled and reinstalled but no change. Hope its fixed soon so i can change back to 5 stars!! EDIT: ITS FIXED LETS GOOOOO

I use this version among the many present in Play Store because this is the one made by the original creator of 2048. That said, this game isn't perfect and I am expecting a lot of improvements in future iterations. Some of them include [1] better responsiveness, [2] an option to remove ads or a paid version without ads, [3] an amateur mode with an option to undo the last move and [4] an option to use a dark colour scheme.

can u pay to remove ads? if not thatd be good, this game is great and id love an ad free version. also the fact that the screen gets bright in dark mode after failing is a bit annoying, but other than that i dont have anything negative to say

I wish there wasn't an ad before *every* game. The dark mode doesn't look great, and there's some bug where the game briefly shows light mode at the beginning of a game before switching to dark mode.

Best 2048 version in the playstore. Would give 5 if they add the option to play without undo. Edit: they actually did it, that's awesome. Props to them. But another issue has come, game feels less responsive, more slow and clunky than what I remember.

They tried to fix 2048 when it wasnt broken. 5 stars until the game updated and noe squares spawn every second eithout moving. Now, you cant fill every slot or you lose, even when you can merge. Absolutely decimates late stage gameplay and just messes it up forever.

A fun time waster and I don't even mind the ads in between games since that works out to one ad every 15 or 20 minutes. The devs made the app take sound priority though, so you can't watch YouTube videos miniaturized or listen to music while playing. If you just want it muted so you can play quietly, it won't be an issue, but unless you want to listen to "woosh, woosh" as you move blocks for 20 minutes straight, I wouldn't bother.

It's simple, it's tough, it's classic. This was the first or one of the first apps I voluntarily added to my first smartphone. I haven't played this for a few years now, but I always keep it around. I've yet to actually create a 2048 tile, but the unmet challenge is what keeps the game fun for me. That, and my favorite numbers are the powers of 2. "Threes!" may be cuter, but the chain of numbers isn't as satisfying. Here's to playing 2048 until the year 2048.

I've always loved this game and come quite addicted to it. until the ads started popping up. if anything, no one likes ads. but especially on this game they're more annoying. it practically crashes every time I get one, and freezes up the screen. I used to love this app and play to calm myself down. the ads ruin it. :(

As per developer reply, I tried playing around with the swipe settings. There is still lag in between swipes. It takes a fraction of a second to even a whole second for the numbers to combine or for the boxes to move. The lags break the flow of my swipes, and defeat the purpose of playing the game. I really wanted to play this specific one since it's the original, but I'm disappointed, for now, because of the lag.

Rating downgraded due to the increase in full screen ads, some popping up in the middle of play, and the seeming lack of an ad-free upgrade. I wanted to support the original version of the game, but the ads are too intrusive, attempts to close them being me to Google Play. Uninstalled, switching to a clone. In response to Solebon's response: It was not a clone. Ads normally triggered between games but last week the ads were triggering roughly every 20s. Maybe a glitch?

Short, sweet and simple. What you see is what you get. If I could make a recommendation to the developer - having the option to pay to remove ads can only expand your consumer base. I'd rather pay a dollar for an ad-free game than be subjected to ads for free. (That said, the ad placement is perfectly balanced as it is IMO, but I'd still like the option to stop having commercial programming broadcast at me)

Excellent game. The ads aren't intrusive, since they only play in between games. I do love the one-undo mechanic. There is one tiny bug which does bother me, although most players aren't likely to ever notice it -- very rarely, the Undo action does not actually work. When this happens, you will be stuck with the move you made. Annoying only if you try getting the max board (I was so close!) or maybe if you fat finger the screen very often. Overall great game!

Great app! I love everything except for 2 minor issues: 1. No back button. That'd help immensely. Someplace, anyplace, so that I don't have to struggle with it. (I have the swipe mode enabled, but it's still a pain) 2. Time trial advertisement. The ad that starts a second after you start playing doesn't actually pause the time trial game itself. Once the ad is done and you've been returned to the game screen, half of it has filled with numbers. Aside from those 2 things the app is excellent!

The tiles are over animated so the "gameplay" is slow and clunky, like it takes some 4-7 frames for the tiles to "spawn" in and then another 4-7 for them to merge. So even though it runs at a high frame rate it feels very slow like 25 fps. On top of this, it has sound, which is fine, but from what I can tell there is no way to turn this off in settings. This means that media from other apps is paused, so you can't listen to music or anything while playing. There are better 2048 apps.
