it has all the information you could ever need in a map app. it is all in chinese, which isnt too bad if you know a bit of chinese and have pleco. but the biggest drawback is that the app uses so much ram to load all of its advertisements! it is so bad that if you phone is more than 2 years old id recommend not updating the app anymore because each new verdion requires more and more ram!

Good App, a lot of functions that will come in handy for travel in China, but it is in simplify Chinese only, it would be great for the App to have a language setting that allows the user to set languages such as Traditional Chinese for users from Taiwan, HK, Macau and overseas. As well as English Menu for None Chinese readers.

Everythingis perfect except if it would show the route and distance from one destination to another.

All I need is a map up-to-date with useable navigation in China, and I don't need all that useless functions such as booking a restaurant or calling a taxi and so on. If you're one like me then v10.25.0.1303 with a neat UI providing essential map and navi is the best version so far.

Even though they insist it has English, it does in fact not have it. I had several Chinese people try to change the language who insisted they knew how, but they all failed. No English support, at least on Android.

This is the best Map app for foreigners in China. so nice feature and accurate. But hey, why don't you launch the English Version or the Pinyin Version. I guess apple maps are using your api and provide english translation. Why don't you do that? :( Please launch the english version, it would be helpful for so many foreigners and all the visitors who travel to china every year.

Don't be scared of this app if you don't read Chinese. Google Maps stopped showing me bus routes and Baidu isn't on Google Play. This app shows approaching buses, fares, traffic jams and much more than Google Maps. A bus logo next to the number 8 is easy to understand. I will keep this even if Google Maps revive their display of buses. On a whim, I typed "bar" into the search box and this app showed me half a dozen bars. If I used my translation software and typed 酒吧 instead, it would do more.

Well, this app is actually a collection of ride hailing, maps&navigation, shopping, news, weather, car services and more. It has too many functions that a normal maps app shouldn't have. Its notifications are annoying too though can be turned off manually. It ONLY supports Chinese though uploaded to Google Play Store, which makes it difficult to use if the user mainly speaks another language. Hopefully it can be upgraded to a complete OS one day. Two stars.

The best GPS map to use in China and is going to be widely use all over the world. When it become available in English it will be best map ever. Good job

English adaptation is poor, and there are many advertisements. It is suggested to introduce a streamlined model.

Cannot login due to no China phone line. Many wrong places and couldn't update due to no login for foreigners

Nearly unusable for foreigners now. There are constant popups to login, but to login requires a mainland Chinese phone number. If it were easier to get one this wouldn't be a problem, but the real name verification is frequently paused for foreigners so depending on when you visit it may not even be possible.

Since Google Maps doesn't work in China, this is one of your only options. Unfortunately it doesn't have an English version, which is very annoying.

Absolutely garbage. Pop ups demanding a phone number, map navigation that doesn't follow the GPS, crashing and refreshing when switching between apps, slow, and you also can't filter stores by time/hours.

It contains a very detailed database about all locations in China, and the interface is really smart, but I can't use it before I learn to write in Chinese. So it's useless for tourists like me. If you at least invest in a few European translations, this app could take over all other navigation apps.

Works best for me in mainland China where Google fails, use Pleco to read screenshots if you can't read Chinese. Foreigners will need to get a SIM card from a flagship store of a service provider to get a local phone number, which is required by almost every app you need in China.

It's very hard to use after the update. So many ads that I can't find the real function entry. The lane direction board is blue as the sky. It's difficult to identify the right lanes from the board especially with the black lanes that not options. So bad!

I used the app in Spain. Comped with other navigation apps, gaode's advantage is: it provided oral guidance which lane I should use or not use, before approaching the crossings. Google and Waze does bad at this point. The disadvantage is it doesn't support offline map and the communication speed with the server is slow. Hope the team could improve this soon.
