Rented a premium car which turned out to be a defective that rattles incredibly hard going above 50mph. Almost killed myself finding a safe place to stop on a highway. They couldn't offer a replacement at the same car class so they give us a smaller SUV, and the battery died after one day, and has the nerve to tell us be ready to pay a fee if it was later found it was our fault. Screw you Socar your cars are dangerous and defective and I am not paying a fee for this trash service

they don't accept foreign drivers license years, they require you to specifically have over 1 year of international driving permit + Korean license, apparantly didn't matter if I've driven for more than 4 years in Australia. the chat service and 1:1 email service is basically a bot service, these humans have no level of exceptions and just repeat the same copy paste lines. terrible service.

If you are a foreigner don't waist your time with this app. Doesn't matter how old are you and doesn't matter if you started to drive 50 years ago, because they will keeping saying that they can't rent you a car because your international (or even your Korean license) was issued a less then one year. It's just one more weird situation in this weird country.

Extreamly convenient and easy to use. A solid 10!!! Literally who needs a car anymore?! Imagine a world where everyone start ditching their own cars because they can get instant access to a nearby vehicle anytime, anywhere and anyhow through a phone app! We're getting there. No more traffic, less pollution.

I really want to try this service but it's impossible. I signed up after getting my Korean license but I didn't know I had to wait 1 year before I could use this service. Anyway after several years I'm trying again but after logging in it says there is no login history ??? So I should create a new account. I try creating a new account but then it says my number has an account so I should login....???? There is no option anywhere to request support so this is the only place I can complain. Please

Honestly im using this app for 3 months and i rent a car for 3 times this app is much easy to use for foreigners who are living in korea..but the thing is if you got any type of trouble then its hard for you to contact the company and they don't provide service in English language

If you obtained foreign license, issued more than years ago, and successfully changed to Korean license, you can not use rental service through this app in one case. For using this rental service, the Korean license should be issued at least 1 year ago, otherwise you have to wait 1 year from the issued date of Korean license to use socar service through this app. Useless app and just for checking prices and locations. Better to search through Naver, and call local rent services, prices are same.

Bring back the option to go one-way. Instead of making me bring the car back to the place I got it from. You had it before, it is so inconvenient to have to bring the car back to the original place, it defeats the purpose of renting the car. I got the car from Busan station to go to Haeundae Beach, the instructions said I can do a one way trip if I call the service center. But when I called they said I can't. Being a Korean with a Korean license I havent had any trouble using this service. However I have recently found that its impossible for foreigners with international licenses to use as it is blocked by their terms of services. I will no longer be using this application and will seek other services (i.e. lotte) to rent cars as a foreign friend of mine shall need to drive when I rent a car from now on.

Before I could reserve the car from point A and drop it off at another location (point B) why has that option been removed? It takes the whole point of car sharing away. Also the app is much more confusing now... And could it be possible t have an English language option? Thank you.

I return the car to wrong place as the map leads me to the wrong way. I called the cs 5 times but never answer, for chat, only chatbot works..... So After more than 10 min struggling to find the place and try to reach socar team, finally i could not return the car on time. So they charge me late return penalty with extra insurance fee as well... from this case i have learn that if there is anything happen, there is no way to get a help from Socar but they charge me anyway what so ever.

If you are a foreigner living in Korea with long name, don't bother with this service. My name on license has been cut due to length, and this service said they cannot provide service if it doesn't match the telco personal information (which does have my full name). Not even an alternative, but just simply "no you cannot use our service." Funny thing is I used to use it fine until they changed something to make this happen.

I've driven for ten years but got my korean drivers licence this year. Not english friendly! Update : Socar allows foreigners to use the app even if your korean license is less than a year old if you show them your home country license. The app is intuitive and looks good in Korean. I heard there is no English version though. AS was fast and effective. However when I drove the car was dirty, and the infotainment screen did not work. We called the AS and they told me they could not fix it.

I have been using Socar for the last two years and it works so good. It gives coupons which is also good for special days. There are wide range of cars available depending on the location of yours. So convenient

Useless.. unless you have an ARC.. Even the global version of the app is useless, can't sign upbecause it's always broken.. You are better off renting a car from real company. I have no problems with their services using my international license. Also, I looked through many of the reviews dating back to 2015 asking to allow overseas customers to use and getting an English version. 7 years and no advancement for visitors like me who stay for months here.

It's a good car rental app. All prices are upfront minus the mileage as that's calculated after usage, but the mileage rate is posted on the chosen vehicle. You can lock and unlock the vehicle through the app. Cars are push to start. I personally have the car delivered to my home as that's easier than going to a location that's far away. The whole app is in Korean, but I've managed to do everything I need with Google Translate on screenshots.
