"[One] of 2015’s best iPhone games", TIME magazine

"This chapter of Sorcery! 3 does a fantastic job of keeping things dynamic and interesting, and better yet, its new puzzle-like aspect gives it the kind of magical, surprise-filled, combat-related fun fantasy fans live for." - Examiner.com, 5/5

THE STORY

The Crown of Kings has been stolen by the Archmage, and he intends to use it to decimate the Old World. You have been sent, alone, to break into the Citadel of Mampang and get it back. Armed with only a sword, a book of spells, and your wits, you must journey through the mountains, into the Fortress, and locate the Archmage himself. If you are discovered, it will mean certain death - but sometimes even death can be overcome...

From the creators of TIME's Game of the Year 2014, "80 Days", comes the final instalment in the acclaimed Sorcery! series. An interactive story with thousands of choices, all remembered, with no two adventures the same. Part 4 can be played on its own as a complete adventure, or players can load games from Part 3 to continue the narrative where they left off.

Adapted and expanded from the million-selling gamebook series by legendary game designer Steve Jackson, co-founder of Lionhead Studios (with Peter Molyneux) and co-creator of Fighting Fantasy and Games Workshop (with Ian Livingstone).

Using inkle's ink engine, the story is written in real-time around your choices and actions.

A lovely conclusion to the series. I've enjoyed several playthroughs of this and I really wish subsequent books were written because I'm so addicted but there's really nothing else like this out there. 😭

An excellent conclusion to a fantastic storyline. Don't let the absence of no rewind discourage you; on the contrary there are many fun twists that come with this game mechanic.

Great game, but not having a save at midgame is mental. I gave up after dying 5 times and having to go back 20min in the storyline. Took the fun away.

It's hard to describe how full this game is. The sheer number of branches that the story can go is unparalleled.

I loved all the games...up until this one, for the express purpose of not being able to rewind in the citadel. Why is this a required feature?? who signed off on that?? you guys probably don't update this game anymore, but if you do, please change this. It killed my enjoyment of the game so quickly.

This book is not as fun as the previous 3 too much dying over and over and over again making the game feel more like a grinding and too repetive doing the same things 10x times

Catching the Tremblimg Sickness made this a nightmare to play. It was frustrating at every turn and added nothing to the overall experience. Just about ruined the overall experience of such a great series.

Wish there was more to this series! Gotta say, Throben's curse and the inability to rewind where you want is annoying most times, but I still love Sorcery! 4. I love the story and characters and how well everything flows from 1 all the way through 4.

Terrific way to end a series. As expected, there are multiple ways to finish the story on several layers. Plus, mexhanics that were hinted at in earlier chapters take center stage in the climax. Awesome series.

Hands down one of the best game series in its genre. I still haven't finished the fourth one because there are so many possibilities for play. The world they've created is filled with enjoyable fantasy and interesting characters. I'm a huge fantasy nerd and I give this entire series a 12/10.

Just finished all 4 parts, could not stop playing. The story is great, the gameplay is phenomenal. Everything is smooth. Not a single crash in all 4 parts. Possibly one of the best mobile games I have played

One of the best games I've ever played. Please don't let the issues with the new mechanic that other reviewers have highlighted put you off, in my opinion it actually increases your freedom to explore and try things in a variety of different ways to really see the depth that the game has to offer.

I have yet to defeat this game. It proves a great challenge. Removing the rewind function makes it a much higher stakes game, but I wish there was an option to ignore that. a fun part is that you can explore. Small stuff like eating the mushroom in the 3rd and tripping out before rewinding is fun.

Getting rid of rewind is a terrible idea. You can make a tap mistake and have to redo everything over and over again. Zone out from boredom and make even more mistakes, repeat ad nauseum. Eg. Watching your thousandth button transition animation, you rush and tap the second one by mistake as it animates over the third.

Just an awesome series of games. The option to buy them all together would be great, as you will want to play them all as soon as you finish the first. SORCERY 4 throws in a surprise twist mechanic near the beginning, which helps it stand out and above the previous games in the series. I just wanted it to go on forever, great job Inkle!

This could be a great ending UNLESS you catch incurable Trembling Sickness at the start, in which case the entire rest of the game becomes an unpleasant ordeal. It's way harder, and you can't rewind, so you have to play it safe, and end up using walkthroughs because you can't afford to take chances. It's a game breaking design decision and made me hate a series I otherwise loved. My advice: if at any point it says you have Trembling Sickness, just restart the game. You will not have a good time.

As most have already said, the removal of the rewind function somewhat killed it. As understandable as it is for you to do it for the sake of impact, adding ZEd, a more tedious rewind, only killed your efforts. In my opinion you should have either kept rewind or make it so that you can rewind to the point where your death was settled at most. Each and every action feels like a potential annoyance rather than a danger. The weakest in the Sorcery! series, but I still absolutely recommend it.

Great exploration game, one of the best I ever played! It has great replay value, intelligent puzzles, many different choices, 3 optional companions and more. I got totally obsessed with it while playing! I gotta say that it's more challenging than the first three without the usual rewind feature but discovering the solutions to puzzles felt more rewarding that way.

Played dead tree gamebook version of this in the 1980s. This is almost completely different, remixed & expanded. Only some touchstones remain. True in Sorcery 3 as well, but 100% win there & here it was a mixed bag. Issues: -Loss of Libra was way less painful in original; first time video game is harsher than gamebook. -Disguise system is a little thin. -Lots of time spent in aimless wandering. -Unlike the previous games, I had to look up solutions a lot. *While bit of a letdown, still amazing!

After what seemed like the years of blue balls, the release has been fantastic, in a perfect wrapping to the final chapter, I never stopped admiring the beautiful map and the many choices, and although when I first couldn't rewind I was confused but felt extremely satisfied making it through even without it, as well it tying into the story made everything feel complete, and the lead up to overcoming this challenge makes it all the better and I can't dick ride inkle enough for this.
