More About Minds of Nations

MMO. Continents without microtransactions are available with limited capacity.
STORY

After a number of incarnations on Earth and unhappy with the opportunities nations offer souls to grow, our hero, Kanli (you) is offered a chance to .. do better.
He will try, over a number of simulations, to build states that survive the hardships of time and scarcity whilst helping as many souls as possible evolve beyond the taints.

13 ideas that we explore in Minds of Nations

1. The Nation as a school for souls

You play the custodian of a state through millennia. The nation is both a state in the classical sense, but also a school for souls that are interested in overcoming this plane.

You have to consider strength, the material needs of a community and the evolutionary needs the souls that take birth in your realm have. A sluggish state will have them stuck for centuries into the same thoughts, fears and vices. While a weak state may not provide enough bodies or opportunities in life.

2. Religion as the development of methods for transformation, not a popularity contest

Incarnated or not, souls generate ideas for you. Ideas are of three types:

The first is the spiritual path that your nation discovers.
Ascetics tired of the endless cycle of birth-rebirth and desire-aversion, are developing methods for transcending this plane of existence.

So they develop the stages of concentration, reflections, prayers, mantras, breathing and other techniques for purifying consciousness.

It does not matter how many people adhere to the path your ascetics uncover. It is NOT about having many provinces declaring themselves Catholic, but rather, having a path that frees more persons from the chains of desire, hatred. Having more methods that incorporate different mindsets, that free one from all attachments and bonds.

3. Governance as a collection of answers to communal questions

Instead of having broad systems like Communism, Monarchy, or Democracy, you use ideas to answer each individual governance questions like:

"Who leads our nation ?"
- It can be 1 person, it can be three, it can be a couple, it can be a council..
"How is that person chosen ?"
- Leadership can be inherited, elected by others and then you'd have to choose who can elect your leader. Only landowners ? Everyone older than 14 ?

We approach every issue of community management in the same way, from economics to the justice system.

4. Effects that change over time

5. Effects that change based ON your production of their associated resources.

6. Algorithms that try to incorporate a bit of realism

7. Technology as a number of general subjects and not as a tech tree

8. Armies have to carry food and soldiers are recruited from the labor force

9. War, lies & propaganda

We explore the way politics has been poisoning our mindstream for centuries. Framing reality and spinning half truths into rigid dogma and encouraging us and our ancestors to commit various atrocities.

10. Karmic years & soul cycles

We try to incorporate the idea of karma into wars. A nation that attacks will get years added to the time needed for its souls to pass through each independent evolutionary stage. This means that fewer new ideas will appear in your state due to the emotional traumas caused in the conflict.

11. Astral plane management

12. Free-to-play continents, custom wonders, heraldry and more

You can fly a banner with custom heraldic elements that are not found in Europe in the Middle Ages.

You can also build new wonders - enough with the eiffel tower.

Every simulation includes continents that have no microtransactions. 100% free. However, their total capacity is limited.

13. Climate change

The game simulates the effect that large, monocultural, agrarian societies have had on the environment.
Just as some ancient civilizations had fallen on Terra due to bad soil management..

It's a good game I just feel that it moves too slow and I usually play on PC when I can but when I can't I use my phone and the game I feel isn't very mobile friendly at the moment. It also can be a bit confusing on how everything works especially the souls & energy system

The game has massive design flaws that make is functionally poor. Its war mechanics especially, are so Ill thought out that it makes war completely pointless. To give example they implemented a loss off siege timer where after a set time your siege province will flip back to your enemy, this incentivizes bullying of smaller nations and buffs large nations. It was implemented to stop people from sitting on sieged nations, but ends up as a problem itself and makes large scale war impossible.

The knowledge depth behind each option really surprised me, on top of offering a totally free experience and being played on an actual map unlike similar games. I simply fell in love with it.

Game has a great concept but it's way to complicated for mobile. Multiple things to do or have to be done. Overall the game needs to be simplified. And by that I mean it's on par with simcountry with how overly complicated everything is.

I have seen many negative reviews about the game, and because i look back on this game quite fondly i will add my 2cents. The game is a complicated hard to understand strategy game thats based on roleplay and player interaction. I can see why many people dont like it, depending on the lobby and players you might have a terrible expierance. Personally i haven't played this game for a long time, but when i did i had spent a considerable time managing my nation. It is addictive fun and an expirnc.

This is by far one of the most unique and claver grand strategy game in my opinion. But it has very little active player base. And the game is highly complex especially for now players. Its playable if player dont care about the complex stuff but wining with old player wilk become almost near impossible. But overall the complexity makes this game more fun and also helps some player roleplay.

This may be a great game however some parts are severly lacking, such as the grind being very long and painful while also being too complex in some areas so it fails to bring out the more simpliar areas. The game is more complex than the classical world war domination game, Hearts of Iron 4/3. This game is a 3.5 out of 5.

The game is cool and everything, I love it but it needs to feel fun. I get the idea that it takes time to develop and things don't come at once but we're basically playing a very very well made waiting simulator. Speeding up the game would make it fun and playable for longer periods of time. Also, any word on the single player? This game is awesome and I wanna know when we'll get our hands on something to keep us occupied.

I played the game and was able to coherently play and basically win in some sense. I'll most likely reinstall after the trade update. I grew out of favor with the game during the later stages because there was less to do, the cost of ideas was insane, and I have no clue how to make army combinations. I suggest a better guide to military organization and strategy + can you please make it so we can have more people in one group and can we also have the ability to build canals and dams?

It's a good concept but the way the time goes by is not so effective in trying to design or plan a build a nation. There are some interesting processes to try out, but again the timing of time and when a process completes makes it hard to set up anything. I love the basketball game, so just checking this put and I am going to dip out now and stick with Cyber Dunk. P.s i miss the cyber hockey game!

A very nice nation simulator... Its complicated but simple, and has nice gameplay mechanics, but is a bit of a waiting simulator (which is understandable as many players will be playing) but the main problem is the poor control quality... If the controls could be fixed or optimized it would be much much better

The game has potential, idea is okay although sometimes really weird concepts. Mobile controls and GUI are whacked. Very limited diplomacy, which is biggest nogo for me. It lasts literally a month. With such limited diplomacy it is really boring. If you want to play this game, do it on Steam on your PC, for free at least. If you want to play a better version of this game, play Europa Universalis IV. Or Civ VI long turn multiplayer. 3 stars cause it's a good worldbuilding todolist and for free.

The interface is terrible, this is a PC game that was lazily ported over to mobile with no thought put into making the interface usable in touch screens. The game is also unnecessarily confusing, specially in it's dumb vocabulary and weird mystical theme. It just feels bloated rather than detailed. Not to mention it feels like a fever dream, like i'm playing a game made by a schizophrenic.

It's like Call of War / Conflict of Nations but you start off with one provice on a random continent. You start by exploring and then colonizing the provinces around you. The tutorial makes the game seem impossible to understand but it boils down to this: Manpower, Food, Gold, and Resources. There are only three tabs you need to worry about domestically which is the Energy, Specialty Jobs, and Government. Armies and Navies will let you fight other nations. To see ur nation's info, tap ur capital

Touching some provinces is impossible. Often, you have to click a very specific spot within a relatively large province to be able to view it. If the banner of a unit happens to be above that spot, it's literally impossible to access it. Also, problems with both phone and PC with pop-ups being overlaid with others and text appearing off screen with no way to scroll it.

has really good potential, the customization in this game is INSANE. you can get really creative with creating your own government and lifestyle in your nation, that's my favorite part of the game. though there many technical problems such as how clicking on provinces is near to impossible with all the unit icons overwhelming the screen even when you hide the icons.

Seems pretty fun from what I've played. I enjoy the almost civilization esque start. My only major gripe is the timers and loading times. I often will set a colony to take a province and forget how long it should take. A simple timer you could see would make this better. Also on both steam and mobile I have gotten stuck on the loading screen for almost half an hour before giving up to do something else. Please fix the loading times!

This game is slow to play and very complex. It has a lot of non-obvious mechanics that require time and/or reading to figure out and the real-time aspect makes even simple actions like moving units around take minutes. That being said, it is the sort of game that putting the effort into learning the systems let's you really snowball. Though it's still not finished, the developer seems keen on adding more of what players want, so other than a few bugs, I find this game endlessly fascinating.

It's a really good multiplayernation simulator. It's also pretty incredible customization, which could lead to confusion. Especially when it has to do with the "ideas". I also had a peoblem with a sensitivity, as pressing a button it also goes through the other tab & activates. This leading to unnecessary waste of money. It's early game & I tried to look at my options on colonization. In the end I couldn't really do anything, because I had no money.

It seems like it will be a fun game. However, the online play makes is frustrating because you can pour a week into a nation, trying to be something good, but its so difficult to protect yourself without just attack and preventing others from playing because if theres ONE person per map who focuses on just destroying it ruins the play of the game. Maybe once its more complete and balanced, especially against aggresive tactic nations or more rewarding for peaceful.
