Since the skip turn update, definitely deserves 4 stars. Would be 5 stars if it had a variable difficulty option. I'm finding these Pixel Remasters much too easy when compared to the originals. Even with the maps that let me bee-line straight to all the loot (rather than stumbling around in circles blind like back in the day) I'm *way* overleveled for most of the game. With the addition of a variable exp option (hard mode?), this would be my go-to version. Hands down. Many thanks dev team! ♡

Just not a very good game. Some issues with janky controls, but mostly this game is just tedious and boring. It was seminal in the genre but has aged very, very, very poorly. Not worth the money. Get FFVI instead, it is better in every single way.

This would've been a great way to play FFIV if it weren't so dang buggy. Everytime I resume the game after I unlock my phone or switch back to it from another app, it breaks. Interactions won't work, battles will get stuck, menus will break, etc. These were issues that existed in the older versions of FFI and FFII on Android, so seeing them here is just aggravating. The only thing keeping this from being a 1 star review is that when you're actually able to play the game, it's great.

Game is still fun no change there, it's smooth and the playability and transitions are crisp. Graphics are great and I love the option to give it that old school feel. BUT. I am not a fan of the controls. Also the soundtrack is good but still does not do justice to the original which in this day and age is disappointing. Even after all the changes and all the years this is still an 8/10 level game. HOWEVER, IT ONLY GET 2 STARS TILL IT GET CONTROLLER SUPPORT!!!

This port reminds me of the SNES version fairly well. I enjoyed running through this game again on my mobile device any time and anywhere. Great way to get through 20 hours of your life. Soundtrack still sounds great. Just be careful of where your thumb lands when selecting actions. On a phone, it's easy to select the wrong person especially if in a hurry. Highly recommend this version of the classic for any fans of RPGs.

Had lots of fun replaying. Lots reviews say it was buggy, but it worked great on my Pixel 6 Pro. Depends on your device. I thought controls were fine. Biggest reason for 4 stars is the lack of extra dungeons and boss battles seemed to have been scaled back in difficulty. Also, FuSoYa's Regen ability doesn't actually do anything? Great game and nostalgia for long road trip for Thanksgiving.

Very faithful remaster of the 1991 JRPG classic. Graphics are crisp and beautiful, particularly the water effects. Reorchestration of the soundtrack is outstanding! Added Bestiary function with AR Battle is gimmicky but fun. Missing post-game content such as bonus dungeon from previous releases, unfortunately; would have been nice for players that like to grind to level 99. No Bluetooth controller support; this would make the game 5 stars for me.

Excellent DS port of final fantasy 4 it does need to use a stylus pen though in order to tap on the screen so you can directly and it won't automatically go through any secret passages when you tap on the screen to move the character though so use a touch screen controller or a real Xbox controller in order to play this game for now until they fix this bug. Hopefully in the future we will see more remasters of the 16-bit era for mobile and PC with these new custom CPUs for phones on the way.

Pretty good overall. I have not experienced the load time or stability issues that other players report. When you select a Cure spell, for example, from your list of spells in battle, it does not show you a screen that lists the health of your party members. You have to know who needs heals in battle before selecting to heal party members. Also, and this may be my imagination, was Yang nerfed in to obscurity? I remember Kick being so much better than it is in this version.

Faithful remake of the original... at least the last version I played (FF 2 on the SNES). I did find it much easier to level up, so by the end I was a lot stronger than I ever was when I played it on the SNES. Plus I got two rare drops, which I never got on the SNES relatively quickly. I also enjoyed thr music but was also wishing for the original score. If you have 20-30 hours to kill, and you like old school FF, this is hard to beat

The game is great. The visual changes can be overlooked. What can't be overlooked however is the lack of controller support. This is ridiculous, especially considering the PC version has it. Playing on a Galaxy Tab S7 and the pen works on the title screen but not in the game? Who thought this control scheme was a good idea?? Add controller support and this is 5 stars.

A lot of people hate the font, I don't mind it but I'm surprised that Square hasn't swapped the font for the Japanese Language version's Latin letter font. The one problem with this game is that the interface for this game on mobile isn't very good. You can move the character by tapping or using the virtual controls, but tap movement makes hidden paths inaccessible, even if you try moving one tile at a time. Combat buttons also require more precision than I like, but I still found it playable.

This could have been one of my favorite versions of FFIV, but the lack of controller support leaves it a frustrating experience. You control the game by using a digital control pad which isn't great and there is also an option to tap to move around a spot that is visible on the map. That works alright until you want to find the secret spots hidden in walls it doesn't acknowledge they exist even if you already know where they are and a few of those you will be required to find to finish the game

Its FFIV, its been done many times before and I'm sure it'll be done again. Its not a bad game but the controls are pretty horrible. Both the virtual gamepad and the tap to move. You'll get the dose of nostalgia you're looking for while you zone in and out of where you just came from every other screen. Entering combat commands can be a little bit of a hassle. Especially if youre trying to quickly skip turns as its on the characters second page. Save before Cagnazzo.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. The controls are standard fare, touch screen free directional d-pad, and tapping the screen will interact with NPCs, switches, etc. There are also fixed menu buttons, a button that switches to "tap mode" that automatically navigates the character to the selected tile, and a map button. The music has been reorchestrated and it's accessible by a title screen music player. Also, Amano has his original concepts included in a gallery. It's worth the $18.

Very faithful to the original, and controls aren't perfect but aren't the worst to adjust to. The text is my biggest complaint, the size of text boxes is huge and they use such a skinny font. I sometimes had some issues with the controls in battle, but on the field were worse. Can sometimes be hard to tap on the exact tile you need in tap mode, while in the 'joystick' mode it is near impossible to move one tile at a time. Those two things aside, it's great.

Back to 1 star because the bug or design to not be able to play without internet is still there! Seriously fix it! If it's by design you guys are beyond lame!!! Overall the game seems to be quite good. Graphics sound remastered music is all great. Controls can be a little touchy but not bad. I would give it 5 stars if you were able to use a wireless controller, and for some reason the game wants access to my camera, which you can deny and the game still plays.

Wow! This is the best small screen adaptation! Tap-to-move instead of laborious scroll- YES! The music is beautiful, and sounds somehow just like, yet better than, the original. The graphics are simple fun. I had forgotten how much color was a factor in the days before increased resolution. It's sweet to see those little pixel guys save the world. It is a joy to play- the time in game has flown by. So great! Thank you for the fun hours I am about to have!!

This is an incredible remaster, the graphics are just lovely and faithful to it's original, animations are very smooth as well. This was the first Final Fantasy that I played and it holds a special place in my heart. Music, I love that its remastered and it feels more authentic for a fantasy adventure, although I'm stubborn, I still love the original soundtrack and would love for that to be patched in as an update as well as an option. Biggest concern is the text, please make that bigger...

This game is very special to me as it's my favorite Final Fantasy of all the ones I've played. So, why the 3 stars instead of 5? Because Square is both too old & young at the same time, forcing touch controls only with zero controller support. Just give us that option, Square! You wouldn't do it for the old versions on here, so why can't you do so here at least?! Edit: 1 star now. It's been 2 years. Just implement controller support, you empty-headed cheapskates. Edit 2: Controller at long last.
