I am a big final fantasy fantasy fan and have tried to play this for a few months now. I downloaded it on my old phone and it crashed every few minutes. I used a ln emulator on my laptop that I use for all my high end mobile games. It still crashed every few minutes. Months later, I get a brand new high end phone that runs exceptionally well. The game doesn't crash anymore. Instead it is unplayable. I got stuck in the first town due to dialogue not working. Then the third battle black screened.

So many game locking bugs. If my phone screen goes off for even a second the game will freeze, not respond or black screen at the next scene change. The game is not just a remake of the original and has "enhanced features" in ways that are sometimes confusing and missing features I felt were absolutely essential from the original. At least they avoided making characters attack dead enemies in an "ineffective" manner. Save, save, save, save. Disable battery restrictions, allow all network access.

A delightful remaster of the classic. I dare say this is the ideal way to play the original as the developers intended. The polished pixel visuals look great, and the enhanced sound and music is as magical as it nostalgic. This is perfect for old-timers like me, and newcomers that want to see where it all began. Only downside is missing some of the old bugs that you could use to cheese the game, as well as lacking remake content but honestly? You don't need it. The game is just fine as is.

Bought FF1-FF3. In my opinion, these are the definitive versions of the games in all their 16-bit glory and beautifully done remixed soundtrack. There's only one issue that I (and many others) have: the lack of controller support. Please add controller support. The touch screen is difficult to use and feels clunky at times when traversing on the world map, towns/castles, in dungeons, and when selecting options. Please update the FF Pixel Remasters by adding controller support ASAP. Thank you.

Game somehow feels disappointing. I've beaten Final Fantasy 30+ times in my life, played on every platform and every version. This one seems off. Cons: 8-way control is too sensitive, I can't walk through doors or talk to people without going off in the wrong direction. Font is not that great, just hard on the eyes. No controller support. No auto save on close. Seems a little laggy at times for no reason. Colors of villages look horrible. Sprites are eh. Pros: Slightly better music.

PLEASE update this so that it doesnt require me to have internet access just to boot the game! It is absolutely absurd that I have to pay $10 for a three decade old remastered game that needs wifi. This must be fixed, it NEEDS to be fixed as soon as possible! But other then that, this may be the greatest remaster/remake of FF1 that I have ever seen, the game is absolutely gorgeous, the audio pops, and the frammrate is super smooth! But that damn wifi connection... REALLY needs to be fixed!

I'd give it a 4 if not for the drm and I'd give it a 5 if it had an option for original difficulty. Shop prices are halved and experience for level up is reduced. Makes the game too easy especially without the bonus content from previous releases. Went for throw back graphics, why not throw back difficulty? On the plus side the music is beautiful. So too are the visuals. Spell effects especially. Seems they we're going for a sort of 16bit+ look and feel and I think they nailed it.

It really is the best way to play the game on mobile. The new music, pixel art, and touch controls make it a much better experience than emulating an older version. I had no game breaking bugs and minimumal slowdown (but not 0). Save often as like any mobile app, this will close if it gets sent to the background and your devices RAM fills up.

I've been enjoying the game greatly so far! Everything seems to work as intended, though the achievement for accessing the slide puzzle minigame doesn't seem to work. I've accessed (and beat) it many times, and still don't have the achievement. Other than that, complaints are very minimal: the font is rather small, as are the buttons in the battle menu in general. I also find the virtual thumbstick difficult to move with, but thankfully the tap controls make that virtually a non-issue

Having beaten the game and getting every achievement, I'd say it's a great remaster! Fantastic rework of the soundtrack, and I was pretty happy with the sprites, art, and now having widescreen. My only real complaints are with the controls. The tap-to-move is a great option and definitely is playable, but there is absolutely no controller support. This was a pretty solid deal breaker for me, and I do not plan to purchase the other remasters unless they add controller support for them.

Love it! My only issue is sometimes if I back out and go to the home screen, I'll come back to the game and the screen will be black with the ui controls on top. I'll have no choice but to close the game out and start back from my last save. With that said I can't wait until FF4 is released. Thanks for finally getting around to giving us these games! PS: please release this on PlayStation as well. You'll get my money twice 😊

I did not experience the problems other players reported. Possibly fixed with an update. Double experience, double gold, half prices in shops, monsters are weakened, and maps are available for the dungeons. It's designed to give you that sense of nostalgia replaying a childhood favorite and also to be quick playing mobile rpg. I personally thought it was excellent. Most excellent.

Overall had a great time playing this game on mobile. Game ran mostly smoothly and sounded great. Only issue I found was when selecting enemies to attack sometimes it would just attack inorder instead of the opponents I selected to be attacked first. This issue happened atleast 1 in every 20 fights. Luckily the fights are pretty easy mostly so it doesn't matter, but I can see it being a issue if you try to speed through the game and get into difficult fights without good equipment.

I played this in my early years on the NES. This is a beautiful port of this game. I feel they took a great amount of care in porting this over. Improvee graphics and music but I also love the point and click walking interface option instead of the touch screen pad. Also with the added auto save option this makes the game very much a joy to play. Brings back those memories! Well worth the money!

I really wanted to love this. Zero controller support on Android for using Xbox controller or Bluetooth keyboard. On screen controls, not surprisingly, are unbearable. And to top it all off I can't even use my stylus? A stylus would make this so much better for moving around. The on-screen menu buttons are just all over the place on both sides of the screen. There's no comfortable ergonomic way to play this game. Both hands on both sides of the phone and no alternative. I just expect more.

The game looks and plays really well. However, it requires an internet connection to boot the game, which was an issue with the old FF mobile ports. Hopefully Square decides to remove the requirement for a connection as it partially defeats the purpose of the game being on mobile. If this was removed, it would be one of the best FF1 ports.

Things I like: auto battle, music, graphics, quick save, tap to move, item shops. Things I don't like: diagonal movement, slow battle speed, klunky sorting & battle menus, why remove the tough monsters from the peninsula near Provoka? Lose progress if app closes w/o save. The previous remake flowed much smoother. Why they couldn't just slap a pretty new skin and functional design on the previous remake? I feel like they made it look pretty but stepped backwards in game play/functionality.

Overall, it's a great version of the game. There are a lot of QoLs for mobile so you know that they put a lot of thought into making it a great experience. I was a little apprehensive at the updated sprites at first, but after playing for a while now I think I'm on board. I really wish there was an option for a different font and I REALLY can't understand why the extra content wasn't included in this version. I don't buy the "keeping it close to the original" explanation. Hopefully it'll get released in an update... I also wish the bestiary was accessible in-game instead of only at the menu.

Absolute banger mobile port, it's only missing a feature or two from its console counterpart, like classic text and a turbo button (both aren't necessary, I just like those two features specifically) Absolutely adore that the game gets it's full adventure, no dlc, at fairly cheap. Must have for mobile RPG fans

I played several different versions over the years and enjoyed this one as well. Other than sound and picture upgrades, the only noticeable differences than previous versions is that it felt slightly easier (easier to level up and prices in shops seemed slightly lower). However, the areas towards the end of the game were still challenging. Overall, I'm glad I got and played it.
