More About 1941: World War Strategy

1941 is an Android strategy board game based on the conflicts of World War II between the Axis powers (Germany / Japan) and the Allies (Russia / UK / America). 1941 is very similar to the popular board game Axis & Allies®.
1942 has come! New features include 3 new units, buildable factories, a more complex map, strategic bombing, shore bombardment and more! 1942 is available for local and online play, and there is no additional cost, it's included in the purchase price.

This legendary war is carried out over 57 land territories and 48 sea zones, and includes 9 different units like infantry, tanks, bombers and battleships. Conquer the enemy and claim victory by destroying their armies and capturing their capital cities!

Local play in 1941 supports 5 players over two teams, in pass and play format combined with an advanced AI if desired. It has been exclusively designed and developed for Android devices including medium to high end phones and tablets, with crisp graphics and an intuitive touch interface.

Awesome features include detailed in-game statistics, full replay capability, automatic game saving, custom sounds and legendary music. If you're a fan of strategy board games like Axis & Allies®, Age of Conquest, World Conquer or Border Siege, don’t miss 1941!

Note that this game is HD and may run out of memory during loading on some older devices, especially those with 512MB of RAM or less, depending on the manufacturer.

Pretty good. Much improved since my initial review. The AI is pretty poor, which is the norm for this style of game. I would like to see more scenarios (such as classic A&A interpretation) and maps.. Other than that, I like it. Good interface, decent gameplay, but it could be improved. Loss of multiplayer is a big problem though. Additional scenarios would be a bonus.

Looks like the developer just decided to stop working on the game in 2016. Multiplayer only supports 1v1 active, controls are horribly configured and theres no instructions or tutorial for how to do simple things like confirming unit purchases. The UI is clunky and has massive oversights such as a giant 1941 graphic that covers nearly 1/4th of the screen at all times. For a game like this you really need a cleaner UI to offer more information. Theres also a lack of quality of life features.

I got this game to learn the rules of Axis and Allies 1942 2nd edition board game. It definitely accelerated my learning. I like the fact you can choose between 1941 and 1942, and between standard victory or total victory. I have noticed minor inaccuracies in AAA combat. The sea zones and unit locations don't match the 1942 board game exactly, which effects the 1st move significantly. There are a few bugs. but overall it is fun to play with friends and family. good for teaching statistics

This is a good axis and allies clone. However there are a few things that arent in this game that the board game does have(mostly the research panel from the board game.). There is also a bug with the fighters, sometimes it will allow you too attack but the planes dont have the fuel to land.(made me have to quit a couple of games now) also AI players seem to have the ability to withdrawl their submarines from a defensive fight. Some times (very rarely) you dont get a chance at a roll (i explain

The game is very good but needs a "back" option included. Many times I have gone from the purchasing phase to trying to zoom in where I want to strike and somehow it moves my phase forward to the combat phase before I even made any strike options. Either fix that bug or add a "back" option and game would be great!! Yes, early on playing the game felt dice rolls were A.I. favored, but after playing a couple times I notice that it does balance out.

This is my go to game all the time. I love Axis and Allies and this game is the same thing only in digital form. There are some small differences, but not really noticeable. Some users have reported some minor bugs, but I have only experienced a frozen movement. I just back out and that works. I have not played multiplayer so I can not comment on that aspect. I would like to see super powers, but that is only a personal request. Russia is impossible to win on FFA.

Its a little glitchy (rarely at times); but nothing like A&A the computer game. For a long time A&A board gamer, this was both vastly different and very similar. A&A strategy will destroy you. This is good because it's like playing an entirely different game. Really excellent work building the game. It will take a few bouts to get used to the game. I'm 15 bouts in and still haven't learned everything. I do wish it had some more modern scenarios (i.e. cold war). Worth the money!

Great version of Axis and Allies with a good variety of game modes (my favorite being Free-for-all) and a few different maps. If additional maps or versions were added to the game as optional DLC, I'd be willing to pay for them. Bugs/crashes have been relatively rare for me and in the event that something does happen, the autosave keeps too much from being lost. The AI is admittedly not very bright but still pretty good for a cheap mobile game. This is easily my favorite mobile game.

All told, this is a very slick game that I've spent quite a number of hours playing. I really enjoy the variety of game modes, and the control interface is very intuitive. The map is true to the original, although in some details that is a flaw, as the visibility of territory borders can be difficult sometimes. The AI is occasionally incredibly bad at using aircraft carriers and transport ships without throwing them away. Overall, I definitely recommend this app for fans of A&A.

It would be nice to have an option for "Low Luck" dice roll rules, as I feel that improves the strategy greatly. AI does not do naval combat well. Multiplayer is prone to abusing the map; players will deliberately place their units on the border between two or more territories in order to obfuscate which one they're in. The only way to figure out where they actually are is to rewatch their entire turn, which is annoying when you have to do that every. Single. Turn. Please fix this!!!

I am enjoying the game, I wish the AI would be improved to learn for a greater challenge. As for on line play it would seem the old time players know how to redo moves to win the battles, too bad because it takes the fun out of playing other random people. The computer also seems to make bad decisions in battles will save subs and let battleships sink, that is the other issue with online, the battles are completed by computer when you attacked by the other player. The quickest way to see you are up against a manipulator of the game is when you start as Russia and then all of a sudden the other opponent is Russia, the person you are playing knew how to stop the game and redo it as the side of their choice. Sadly it kills the spirit of the game and the fun of it. I recommend it when playing solo or when playing online with a player you know.

Faithful recreation of Axis and Allies. I'd say it is more fun to play the board game, but at least this doesnt require three months to set up and actually play, so there is that. The AI is competent, but predictable after a while, however it does seem they get far better dice rolls than the player to somewhat lazily counteract this. Still, I think it's worth the money and is genuinely fun to play.

I truly enjoy playing this game, even pass&play is relatively easy to use. But there is something that makes this game hard to love. Now, I'm sure some of you have experienced it at some point but the dice mechanics in this game are all wacked out. There have been times where I have restarted the game and played out the same moves with the exact same results. The results change slightly depending on the attacking or defending groups but it's always the same dice rolls. Seems unfair.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but it happens all the time. I am in the strike phase (or any phase) and I guess my finger slips -- but does NOT touch the phase advance button! Nevertheless the phase advances and there is no way to undo it. If there is a way to do this, please let me know -- otherwise this would make a good update! Five stars if the game was playable but so far this leaves me frustrated by round three!

The best video adaptation of Axis and Allies I've ever played. The only real weakness is the AI, which doesn't make for the most challenging game play. I'm an advanced player and rarely lose against human opponents, but the AI consistently makes the same strategic blunders, both major and minor, leading to the same inevitable outcomes. Maybe introduce levels of play difficulty?

Almost a great mobile game. If I wasn't angry right now I would probably give them a 3 star. The reason I wouldn't buy this game again is not the gameplay. The gameplay is fantastic. The issue is there are multiple scenarios that completely freeze up the game and do not allow for further progression. I just spent 2 hours playing and just before I won the game hit a scenario it could not handle and froze, denying me my hard fought victory. Hopefully these issues get fixed.

It does not save. I looked how to save, game says it saves automatically. I have given the app permission to my phone's files so it can save the games. But still everytime I close the game and reopen it all the work from previous game is gone. When I go to saved games it says there are no saved games. VERY ANNOYING, especially when you have to purchase the game.

Good mobile version of axis and allies. Worth the price, way better than dealing with ads Edit: Just tried to play through a full game, and unfortunately, there are many problems. Units of different types will accidentally stack and are basically stuck together forever. And the AI always rolls better than me. Like I win probably about 5-10% of battles against AI even with a serious advantage. Also I had units disappear (or maybe just lost forever in a stack). Overall not too playable

Been playing the game for several months now. Multiplayer is decent from what I've seen but I don't really play it much anyways. The only problems with the game all around are the dice rolls, which are okay but could really be improved, and the AI which is decent but it just makes alot of mistakes. It's an alright game other than that. I'd really like to see 1940 and 1914 versions added, that would be a dream come true.

strategic bombing is absolutely broken. it is not random. whatever is rolled first time will be rolled the same the rest of the game. so if they roll anti aircraft first turn you know never to strategic again. and if you get hit a six you know they can do that all game. ruins a great aspect of the game. a few other awkward parts but other than that good game. really wish it got fixed but last update was 2016.....
