there are a few little issues I have, like not being able to do searches based on sub-genre, actors, directors, countries, languages, decades, etc. Also difficult to find and edit your review after you've posted it, BUT HEY!!! Its a small price to pay for all this wonderful horror. Like, literally. The monthly subscription is super cheap and quality super high. keep it up and just being the UI up to Netflix standards.

It still just seems like a huge number of the movies are in foreign languages. I kinda gotta comb through it to find ones that are in English, cause my attention span just doesn't really accommodate for subtitles. Another thing, and this has always been a problem for me, is it doesn't seem to add my reviews. I'll submit it, and then it just doesn't post it. That's wildly frustrating. I can't even share my thoughts on a movie. Still sitting at 3 stars coming back 2 years later.

I love the idea of having an app for streamable horror. I have seen some great flicks/movies with this app, when it decides to work. This app is NOTORIOUS for signing you out and having you guess your password that you may have forgot. I have had went to both desktop and the app for a password reset, but never received any emails, so I've been paying for a service I can't use. Streaming on the app has multiple crashes and buffer issues, which can get annoying.

App is OK. Shudder could do better as far as the amount of new, FF, indie and international films. There's plenty of old school "campy" horror films out there. For the price there should be a much larger, more diverse selection of all types. Shudder, you were the 1st horror movie app for many, and you're still relevant. However, I must say ya gotta get the good stuff in there, tweak it up! Get that obscure, pleasantly unpleasant, frighteningly insane horror buffs r here for! Best of luck. 👹

The movies are good. However, the app is terrible. The biggest problem is choppy playback. About every five minutes, the image a sound get really stilted. It's also common to fail playing altogether. The app also lacks common features. For instance, there's no way to turn off auto play, which often cuts off the end of the previous episode. No way to zoom letterboxed movies to full screen! Are you kidding ?! Took off another star. All of the apps problems keep getting worse.

Constantly shuts down. Can't make it through ONE entire movie, my literal FIRST movie experience with this app because it constantly pops up saying there is an error and it needs to restart. It's easy to navigate so far, but what's the point of enjoying finding the horror movies I love if I can't watch them? Should have such with the prime app, but I'm enticed by the yearly payment option for shudder. Ugh!

Phone app is a little glitchy but it's not intolerable most of the time. The TV app, however, is absolutely unusable. It even bricked my TV a few times. I hope to see some improvements before my first year's up or I probably won't be signing up for another year. Edit 2023: The TV app is still garbage but I'd rather pay for shudder than netflix. If we could get a "watch history" or "watch again " category that'd be great. I often watch so many movies I forget the names and there's no way to look

Although the AndroidTV layout & navigation leaves a little to be desired, Shudder more than makes up for it with the quality of it's content. I've had it for a couple of years now & it's progressively gotten better. In the beginning the content was just a bit limited, but over time it's grown to be quite eclectic. B movies, A movies, collections, series & original Shudder only content. If you are a horror fan Shudder is well worth the price of admission.

I was very happy to see my new higher end TV, which runs Android TV, was able to use the Shudder app as I've been previously using my Xbox One X for it and I'd rather have all my streaming apps on the TV itself. The problem is through Android TV it pauses for buffering quite often and for minutes at a time. My TV is on an ethernet connection and a solid 400Mb/s service. No other apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, etc.) have this problem,. Through my Xbox One X it never has the issue either. As for Shudder itself, it's a great service. It does share some of the same horror titles as Amazon Prime and I do wish it carried a few more of the mainstream titles as well, but if you're looking for obscure and/or hidden gems it can't be beat, and of course there's Joe Bob!

I came here because a Google search said this site was totally free with no sds, for the best Bloomhouse Horror movies. Now I find out there is no free version, only a $5.99 per month subscription. You can see a few trailer clips. I'm pretty sure it's a good app & great Horror movies. I was mislead, that's all. It's a good service but I thought at least it would have a free version with ads! I just can't afford a monthly cost on a fixed income!

I almost like the idea of this app. A horror only streaming app, that's kind of cute... but it could just be a tab in any streaming service. The app, in actuality, is pure trash. Constant stuttering and buffering even with a solid connection that works perfectly with every other streaming service. The thing isn't even user friendly. Browsing and moving around the app is a test of patience, and there are some serious issues with random soft locks and load times. Avoid this until it works.

Edit: I can finally cast to my Chromecast now! I love Shudder because it's cheap, but all of a sudden the app isn't working right. I tried to cast to my Chromecast and it just keeps buffering. I restarted my router, phone, and Chromecast but still buffering. So I checked to see if other streaming services would work and they all work fine except for Shudder. If this isn't fixed I'll cancel my subscription because I'm not going to pay for something that isn't even working.

Content is top notch! However I have these issues with the app. 1 - Can't find a way to turn on closed captions. After researching this, supposedly only some movies on the app have it, but I've yet to come across any that actually do. 2 - There is no cast button within the video. You must cast before you start watching. Frustrating if you want to start on mobile and then start streaming later. 3 - No ability to create more than one user profile per account. Hoping these features are added!

Cool content, but you'll never get to finish it. Tried on this app, the Xbox, my fire stick, AND the web page on my Mac. Same thing. Screens freezing and shutting down and IF you can get it back on, it's at the beginning. Fast forward takes several mins and it usually crashes while you are trying to get where you were. Cancelled my subscription. Sucks though, content looked good

Latest version force closes, with "Unknown exception has occurred" message, across several devices. Multiple uninstalls and reinstalls do nothing. Weak. UPDATE: 6/1/19. Signed up for a 6mo trial. Phone app seems to be fine now. Adding titles to my list populates list on my TV app, finally. Also, I can actually get to My List on my TV now. Only issue I've noticed is intermittent buffering on the TV app. All other streaming apps, plus Fire Stick 4K working fine. I can deal with that for now.

I love this app, but it could definitely use better features. Most notably, the ability to remove a movie from "continue watching." Movies I've already finished or have decided not to finish stay there in limbo. It's also a bit tricky on starting where you left off if you pause and go back to a movie later. I'd also like it if it was available on more smart TV options. But I love the app and I love the collections.

I'm a huge horror movie fan, so I was excited by this app. It also has hard to find films and shorts. Unfortunately, I can hardly ever watch anything. If the app opens at all, the films can never seem to play without constantly freezing or buffering. I can't even watch the trailers without them crapping out. Update 5/20/20: gave the app another try. It was just as glitchy as before. Then I couldn't even use the app. It kept telling me to sign up for a subscription I already had.

Great for horror fans, especially classics. However, this streaming service has probably the worst resolution of any streaming service...old/new movies and shows all look like there displayed in 720p at most so nothing looks good, kinda muddy with artifacts all over screen. Everything else is pretty basic but serviceable

They put annual billing first, but it looks like you are about to pay $6, not $71.87. it's very sneaky. Then support says you can't get a refund. I will be disputing this transaction with my bank. The app itself is not up to par with other streaming services and live shows have lagging issues at the start and end of the stream. It happens every time. Overall not worth the price with the limited selection of quality content and nothing above 1080p resolution.

Mostly for avid horror fans! I did the trial version and forgot to cancel, so paid for a year up front. It was only like $60, and I love horror, so I figured we'd probably watch a few things and make it worth it in a year. I'm so glad I accidentally signed up! I've never had any issues streaming (I only use it on my TV, so don't really know about the mobile app). And the variety! I was never one for foreign films, but they have an awesome selection! The original movies we've really liked too.
