Awesome equalizer app with plenty of features. The parametric mode is very helpful to tweak headphones (I have not tried it on speakers, but it should work equally well). You can set the function (low pass, high pass, notch, etc.), the Q factor ("spread") and the frequency by exact values. Also tracks the audio sink and applies the right profile depending on the sink connected (USB, built-in, BT). Comes with the instruction and resources needed to grant DUMP permission so it can equalize the output of just about any app. Combine this with a wave generator app, and you will have a very good set up to tune audio (output) apparatus.

Have to give this 2 stars for now. It used to work amazingly. After either a phone update, or a poweramp update, all eq functions suddenly stopped working on my Motorola Edge 2022 5G UW. The phone's built in Dolby Atmos audio settings do work and effect the sound, but even with it disabled, poweramp no longer does anything. It does not work over Bluetooth or the built in phone speakers. I have tried everything. DVC settings, random Bluetooth settings in developer mode, zero change in sound.

This app has so muçh potential. Could easily be a replacement to a MiniDSP parametric equalizer if you only have one source to worry about. It has it's problems though. Using Pandora on a song switch the volume lowers and can only be fixed by a pause and unpause. Also trying to enable DVC causes it to spaz out by turning on and off constantly, even with Absolute Volume turned off both in sound and developer options. Fix these problems and it's easily a 5+ star app. Purchased it already because when it's working properly it's a power house!

Great app when it works but it's stopped displaying the preset in use in the notification, doesn't recognize and select the associated profile when a Bluetooth device is connected, and equalization won't occur unless the main app is running. Having tried to work with the devs on one of these issues previously and, seeing how little support I got, my only recourse is this review.

I can't believe I only just discovered this app. I've been a die hard fan and long time user of Poweramp since it's initial release. It has always had, hands down, the best sound possibly available on Android. I'm so buzzed that I can now bring this sound quality to you tube music and other music apps. I have my audio piped out to an ES100 DAC and the sound is incredible. Premium was an instant purchase for me. Keep up the incredible work.

Equalizer makes my music sound so much better. It definitely makes the listening experience really nice. Only thing is that it sometimes glitches and either doesn't equalize which results in a lower volume output. And rarely, it'll output a really loud volume blast to the ears or with speaker. Also hasn't been working perfectly on Android 12 by itself; I have to keep the app open all the time.

While using this app I have noticed that after it is either kicked out of RAM, closed or what not mentioned, there is an issue with it reinitializing properly. I have done all I can on my end to kickstart it but apart from reinstalling each time I want to use it, as such the only way to make it work is to reinstall in my case as each time I open the app it loads a dead screen and sometimes with the parametric eq for which I do not make use of unfortunately.

I have tried dozens and dozens of equalizers and all I've had is trouble. Most of them come with a bass booster. I don't need a bass booster, it's an equalizer. A bass booster can damage your speakers. This EQ runs as a background service and won't quit on you. It has DVC settings unlike all the other ones so I can control how bluetooth behaves as far as controlling the volume to prevent damage to the speakers. I recommend this equalizer above all others. Presets for each separate player app.

I have been using Wavelet for years. But now it doesn't work with my Pixel 7pro. Now I have the Poweramp equalizer. I love all of the customizations this app offers. It works great on Spotify. But it sucks when you use the Apple music app. Like another reviewer had mentioned, it works for a couple of songs then it craps out. And the only way to get it to work , you have to force stop the Apple app and reload it. If the developers could fix this issue, I would give this app a 5 ⭐

Excellent, I wish spatial sound was an option or at least plugins we're available. There's a spot in the app for plugins but I can't find them anywhere or figure out how to use them. I would like to see more options for controlling sound in future releases. Higher sample rates, 3D audio and the like. You can never have too much control over your audio, that's one of the reasons I chose this application. I wanted as much control over the sound as possible.

Edit: I've since upgraded phones from a Pixel 3a to a 6 Pro. I suspect a lot of the issues are memory based because it's perfect on this phone. It works awesome when it works! The compressor is amazing. Only one problem. Even after playing with the detection settings and giving Equalizer every permission I could, it still insists on crashing. Restarting MusicFX in Poweramp Player or restarting Spotify seems to bring it back but the issue remains. Big black mark on an otherwise awesome product.

It's a good app, it increased the bass on my phone significantly. However, I do have one issue. Whenever changing to a new song, the volume turns quiet for about 1 second before turning back to normal. I tried looking through settings but didn't see anything that could've helped. Hoping that gets fixed. Other than that, I recommend this app.

Poweramp came with a great equalizer preset for the headset I use very little adjustment needed to get a lot better sound out of it it's also solved a major issue I've always had with podcasts and audio dramas in that a lot of times you have to constantly adjust the volume when going from lower volume to like action scenes with sound effects which can be distracting especially while you're driving. audio compression settings with power amp have completely eliminated the need to do this

Having previously posted a low rating and inaccurate review. I've come to realize I was flat out wrong! After installing many, many, i.e.,(30) similar Amp/Eq apps. I quickly learned. Most apps were so bad. I'd uninstall them almost immediately. I found three that worked OK. But, as a 40-year audiophile/sound quality nut IMO Poweramp Equalizer is the most accurate in sound quality and function. The ability to change the # of Eq bands is a great feature. It's crucial for hi res frequencies.

S24 Ultra - Sometime I'm 2024, this EQ took a turn for the worse. Most of the time, no bass, some bass, quiet, muffled, treble is low and other random different things. When it's perfect 10% of the time, the sound great. I've changed this setting, that setting, search online, nothing. But I've been a customer of EQ since 2021, and Poweramp since 2011. I'm giving up on the EQ and looking for something else that works. I can't even find instructions on all the features.

Makes anything with a speaker sound phenomenal. Just find them perfect (from seemingly endless) combinations of presets and tones and it's like it makes a shoebox with a blown 2 inch speaker sound like it inherited a freshly discovered quality that makes you feel like you just bypassed some sort of performance throttling that prevented you from experiencing the true sound your 2 inch shoebox speaker was actually capable of. Honestly this was by far the best I've ever spent money on in play store

I used this app with my Bowers and Wilkins PX7 over the ear headphones. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S24. I tried both of the AutoEQ presets for these headphones. There was no change in sound quality. Poweramp suggested I disable absolute volume control. When I did that the volume was so low I could barely hear the music, even when I turned it up to max on my phone. Disabling AVC also made the sound muddy and compressed the soundstage even more than it already was with stock settings.

Strange audio glitches when first skiping to a point in a song right after connecting a dac. Also does this over Bluetooth. You can have the audio at 20% and that first time you seek it plays audio at 500% for a split second before the audio restored to the correct volume. I'm afraid is going to damage my headphones. Other than my this the UI is a bit odd at first and I had to re-ebald permissions a few times over adb but it's a great app. If not for the audio glitch I'd give it 5 stars.

10/10 app it has everything you could need to boost and better your phones audio. I love this app, only thing that I cannot figure out is why my assigned preset aren't changing when plugged into source. It shows in my notifications it changed but when you click on presets it shows the previous one still. Maybe bug or something on my end. But that alone is small compared to what this app does for you and your music, plus there is hundreds of preset for so many headphone and systems. Buy it!!!!!!

It's such a pain to adjust EQ and switch from one band to another. There's also no way to undo accidental touch, or know that you accidentally touch something and changed its value. A small feedback noti or change in color would be helpful. Also very had to go from one par EQ to another. Have to scroll just right. No easy way to upload filter from commons app such as REW. Would gladly pay if I can edit this on my PC instead due to bigger screen. Also make it easier to upload custom filters.
