I heard the advertisement on Knowing Faith and decided to give this a shot. As a long-distance commuter, I appreciate the opportunity to read the Bible audibly. The voices are all pleasant and engaging. Being able to mix them up keeps me focused and helps me not become so easily distracted. I appreciate the ability to choose which voices to include in the random selection, as I prefer ESV. The background music adds to the experience. I bought a year's subscription as soon as my trial ended!

As a musician, things like volume, pacing, and background music can enhance or really distract me from listening to the Bible. DwellApp allows me to select the best pace for my current situation and environment, in order to fully focus. The readers are all wonderful. The variety of accents is delightful. The plans and playlists are also a blessing. I'd pay for this app just to support it.

Overall, I enjoy the App. I like that there are different voices, music options, and plans. My kids seem to enjoy it as well. However, I don't like how you can't download a whole book of the Bible. You can only download plans or tracks. I listen to whole books more often than the tracks or plans, therefore being able to download them and listen to those while I'm grocery shopping would be more beneficial. Maybe in future updates? That alone makes it not worth the $40/year for me.

I am obsessed with this app! I love that you can choose the background music (ambient is my favorite), that there are plans and playlists included, the app design, and that you can slow down the pace of narrators! Some things I wish were part of the app: Fade outs when playing playlists - I find that it ends abruptly. I also wish I could favorite and zero in on specific verses that I'm trying to memorize. As far as I can tell, it's just chapters you can favorite and listen to. Thank you Dwell!

It's sooo good!!!! So thankful for a more relatable way to digest the Bible. I do wish that I was able to take notes on the reading page while listening. That would help me during my silent reflection! As well as the ability to long press the individual scriptures during the playlist. Since they cover more than one scripture or verse, it would be nice to highlight particular moments where there is an Aha! Instead of the whole passage. Or having to leave to find it in the Bible Plan. 8/10!!!

The app has more options than I thought were possible for a Bible reading app; and the options are rather genius honestly. The background music is a nice touch to the overall listening experience. The pace of reading is spot on as well, not to fast and not to slow. My only request would be - and it's a rather imperative request I think - is to have the ability to download books of the Bible, and not just the playlists; my data gets used up to quickly when driving in the car. Overall, Great! 👌

I love this app! It is so nice to have an audio Bible with multiple versions, voices, speeds, etc. all in one place. I often use it when I'm reading large sections of Scripture to keep me focused. The only thing that is a distraction for me is that all the voices I've tried so far seem to have a slight "halt" in their cadence of speech between phrases and verses. It often doesn't flow as smoothly as it would if I read it aloud myself. A small personal preference. Otherwise, I love it!

Dwell App has great features. You have many readers to choose from, you can decide the rate at which you listen to the Word, you can create your own custom playlists. For ex: if you want a playlist w/ verses specifically about Love,Pride, Mercy you can create them. You also have the option of selecting a background music or noise from a given list to play along with the audio Bible. This app also keeps track of your listening time. This is the best Audio Bible App and is worth every penny!❤️

Neat concept with tools many of us have been waiting for, but still a lot missing and poor execution. Pretty ugly UI that doesn't manage all the options well. No option to cast to a smart speaker. Some audio is engaging but most seems to be monotone. Most everything is behind the paywall, so you'll only be blessed by this app if you have a lot of extra $$$$$

I really like the app, but almost nothing is free so you have to buy it (tho no ads) and when I make a playlist I can't find it unless I'm adding something to it; there is no "my playlist." I love how you can change the voice/translation (not plain narration), background music, volume of each, and speed. I find this helps me to stay focuse and less stressed (I have stress pains & my attention span is horrible) while doing stuff like playing Minecraft, doing arts & craft, nature walks, & cooking.

I really love this app - it is a lot more flexible and easy to use for repeating passages than free apps. I enjoy the voice and version options. It was especially wonderful hearing a Kenyan accent!! I hope they will incorporate more non-American accents. Also, my only complaint is that I wish the sleep timer had an "At End of Scripture Range" option other than just times. The purchasing options seem very fair to me - especially if you use a podcast promo code.

great app! many ways to listen to the gospel!! and easy to just turn it on whenever I'm working out, cleaning, or just chilling, there are many options such as voices, background music (optional) and audio speed, this is by far the best biblical app out there! it's one that only sticks to what the Bible truly says, and if it helps you can read along with the audio Wich I find very helpful to really get it in my head and remember it, not to mention how many plans there are. stay strong 🙏🙏

Update: the fix recommended here worked great. Not sure where the initial response was sent but I've not seen it yet. Original: At first it was great but now, after several months, it is constantly having issues. It randomly skips to the next chapter rather than staying on the one that I selected and now today it is just randomly choosing what it wants. I used the option to report a bug several times and nothing has changed. My husband is having the same issue with his.

Edit: Not the most intuitive app in terms of selecting scripture to memorize or queuing it up (sometimes it likes to randomly queue verses or chapters you don't want it to, then plays it when you're done). It took a while, but I finally managed to figure out how to select verses to repeat on a Playlist for memorization. I am not a boomer and regularly use technology, and it should NOT have been that hard. That said, overall I like the reader/instrumental selection.

love the direction this app is going. I have a few suggestions: 1) when you are listening to a chapter and you find a verse you want to add a playlist users should just be able to do a long press on the verse and quick add it, instead of having to go back, disrupt their reading, search for the verse and go back. 2) The ability to copy/paste for journaling. 3) App does not cater to visual learners like reflecting on the lyrics after it has been read. The written text page is too small for readers

I love the concept. The app just needs to be a bit more polished. Sometimes while listening to Scripture, the text will fail to follow along. Then, if I tap a verse, I lose my listening progress altogether. The app has a clean UI but the UX is clunky/unintuitive. For these reasons I continue to subscribe because I know the devs take the feedback seriously 🙂.

Amazing app! There are so many choices in voices, music/sounds, and versions! Everyone can find something they like! You also have the choice to just read, as well. It is super easy to find scriptures- whether you know what you are looking for, or you just need suggestions for a specific topic. There are SO MANY options to do different things! I have never read the Bible before, but this app made it possible to read in just 5 months! I highly recommend this app!

I found this app from someone on Instagram and I thought it was super cool. I love the sounds in the background and Jessica's voice is very relaxing. However I can't justify paying the 7.99 /month price for the app. I wish the price wasn't high because the free features are very límited and I want to check out the other features but I can't.

My subscription is up so I need to resubscribe to hear the audio Bible. I'm trying to cut subscriptions right now. And it seems.....Abit odd that the subscription prices are as high as they are. For God's word. Which everyone should hear. That's a little.....strange...to me. Doesn't sit right. Also...this app can be pretty unintuitive. So, I left the app. It's great if you've got the money and can get used to how it operates, however.

07/04/2024 What happened? I can no longer lock the voice. My bible version changes to random versions and new voices. It won't stay where I had it set even just after a lesson. I'll go to the best lesson and it all changes. Really frustrating. 01/2024:Love this app. I enjoy having the Bible read to me and reading along with my paper Bible for studying. Enjoying the daily devotions. The voice and background sounds are amazing and the variety of versions of the Bible is incredible. Well worth it!
