There is something terribly wrong with the app. I have had this app for well over a year. Recently I noticed it will not open. It seems like after the lastvupdate it began failing. When I to login, it states that "I must have an internet connection." Nothing is wrong with my WiFi and my phone is not on airplane mode. I even uninstalled the app and reinstalled, but it still does not work. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

The older version on my other phone works perfectly, but I'm on this one with the "new and improved" app. Yeah right. Auto sign in won't sign in and continues to sign in after you close it and reload it. The only way to work it is to force close. Called multiple times and supposedly this is going on a month since cox knew. A rep said that they're doing away with homelife and another said this wasn't true. Getting an answer out of anyone is impossible. If it's not broke, don't "fix" it! Not work!

If I could choose a negative amount of stars I would!!!! I hate Cox, not only are there "commercials and deals" false advertising, the wifi in my home is TERRIBLE!!! they are so expensive, overrated and don't deliver.. yes I have the highest speed available and if anything its gotten worse. No they don't schedule same or next day like the commercials show and u don't get notifications from either. Ive been a member for approximately 14+years. They should take care of there customers.

Having this app defeats the purpose of am app. Whenever I try to see my video or live feed, the app stops. I can not click on a camera to view it because as soon as I do, the app stops. I would rate it lower than 1 star but I can't. So one is it. I'm planning to quit home life and get something else, more reliable. Plus, one of my cameras that was just changed because it didn't work, is still not working. It's at my front door, yet I've paid for it. How? I'm over it. Don't do it to yourself.

This service is trash. I was told that Cox was doing away with the Homelife pods but those that still have it can still be assisted only if they have added tech support coverage. Mine was working fine until then, now it doesn't connect at all even though nothing changed. It shows a solid white light connection but doesn't work, even the tech pretended to be baffled. This isn't a coincidence, just a way to have you purchase newer equipment although your old equipment was working fine.

After years of a nicely functioning app, I can now log in once to set/unset the system, than can't login again. The app just spins and does nothing. This is especially frustrating when returning home with my husband who needs help with a walker and oxygen tank. To enter the house I have to leave him unattended on the front porch to enter and turn off the alarm system. I never used to have to log in every time I opened the app. This is completely unnecessary/frustrating with a secured device.

The app has been pure s#^t! Cameras don't always load and when they do, it's not all of them, alarm sound plays after setting and then closing the app. The home pad also sucks now. Used to have the weather app and a clock on it. They took those away for no good reason. Solution they gave me did not work. Still no lock or weather app.

Notifications don't work. If you stay logged in, it will boot you out after a while qnd when you go to log back in an error message will keep showing up preventing you from logging it. The only solution is to complete close out the app. This is an issue with the app itself, have re-download several times. Also, there is an issue with the camera video clips. It would allow you to leave the clip screen until the clip is over and it takes you back automatically. This is annoying and inconvenient.

It's nice to see what's going on in my home and the light is cool, but it's very irritating and inconvenient that the app constantly signs you out and doesnt even give you the option to stay signed in, or to keep your info saved to not have to type it in everytime. Kinda dumb to not have fast access to see what's going on in your house. Fix those things and 5 stars it will be, until then i give about a 3.

25 Jan 23 Update: Changing my previous rating from 2 stars to 1, and would give it zero if able. This app has gotten worse in the last month! Its basically useless now, as it gives the 'Not Connected' msg nearly 100% of the time. We're considering canceling the security deal with Cox! About half the time we try to use the app, it won't connect. It gives a 'Not Connected' error message, even though we're at home, Connected to our WIFI and/or have full 5G bars!

I spend more time waiting for the live camera view....i sure hope i don't ever have a break in because actually catching a live view when the alert comes to my phone is laughable! I waited 5 minutes this morning and STILL had the 'circle of contention' as I call it. I have yet to be able to get a live view. The pictures that are taken have nothing in them so I have no idea what sets it off.

Just had the Cox tech set the camera up today. Unable to create rules and the app. locks up. Very Disappointing. Called customer service, which had wait times of 30mins +. Told to call back tomorrow. 3 days later and app still not working. Half way through setting up the rules it freezes and won't even let me cancel the rule started. Everything freezes. Without being able to set up rules all I have is a live feed camera, useless.

Username is now invalid, can't log in at all. Uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared all cache and data, rebooted my phone and still, it's like my account doesn't exist. I need this app to work for it to make sense paying for this, but now HomeLife is useless. In addition, the camera has stopped working 30mins after the tech left and has not worked a full day since, with a "camera disconnected" error. I can log in on a browser, but what's the point without any of the app functions?

The live feed won't work. The app just closes when I try to use the live feed. The automation alerts me minutes after the movement has taken place. Very disappointed in the service. Customer service couldn't help me. They tried rebooting the system. Same problem still persist. Deleted and downloaded the app again. Don't dare get a new modem. You'll have to have a tech come out and set your service up again. Nothing but issues since I got the service.

The issue with the app is complicated. Very often, when I open the app, a popup states I am not connected to the internet (even though I am.) To trouble shoot, I have to do one of two things, either turn on and off the phones wifi, or turn on and off the mobile data. Doing one of these two things always works, but then I am having to routinely enter in my login information. I uninstalled and installed the app, which did not fix the issue. Frustrating and inconvenient.

Very slow when trying to view live feeds from the camera, if it even loads at all. So slow that you really only get to see every 10 seconds, at best. Occasionally, it will tell me the lights are on , then I look out the window to see they aren't, or vice versa. Honestly wish I never spent the money on the system. it doesn't integrate with Alexa/Amazon (Not sure about Google or others) so you are forced to use their app which can close for no reason, or not remember your login credentials.

5 Year Update - Jan 2020: Connection issues have improved however connection issues still occur more often than they should. Also, the interface with thermostats is hit or miss. At time the heat will be set at 70, the thermostat shows the temperature as 72, yet the furnace is running. Other times it's just the opposite. Very disappointing. April 2015: A very handy app, easy to use, WHEN IT WORKS. Often has trouble connecting to server however, and when it can't connect it becomes useless.

This app is as about as useful as sticking a fork in your eye. Never stays logged in no matter the settings. Connects to the camera about 3% of the time. Heck even the tech support guy at Cox said..yeah it was only developed to sell their customers something else they dont need. The only thing you can seem to get right is the internet, and you have to get a second mortgage to afford that.Thank goodness they gave us this package just to lower our internet bill. Wouldn't pay for it. Complete junk

Straight Garbage! Please don't buy this service because it dont work. I've had 3 tech visits due to communication failures with the camera, delayed photos, videos, and not being able to login to the app. The problems are still not fixed. I have to turn off the wifi on my phone in order to login but lately it no longer allows that either. I just have a camera sitting in my window and if I didn't get a lower bill by bundles I would cancel immediately.

Slow and Buggy. Unlike most apps that keep you signed in but lock the app, this one signs you out seconds after you leave the apl. This gets to be a problem because it takes quite a long time to sign back in, often taking multiple password prompts and crashing ~20% of the time after it accepts password. This makes it unusable to rely on to lock doors, set security, etc.
